Im a professional photographer, I carry my camera lots of places. The chicks dig it.

Seriously. Id rather carry a camera that can get those party shots in low light then have to depend on my PHONE and its tiny, sucks in anything but bright sunlight, sensor.
If you're looking for chicks, you're better off at a party without a camera.

A good way to turn off people is to bring a giant dSLR with you. It's why I say don't be a dork that carries a dSLR to a party.

and of note there is no longer an Xperia Compact series as well - the ONLY small pull from Android I’ve ever had. Too bad Sony it’s a shame this Segment is gone. Their horrible at marketing and that was their minimal sales downfall.
Yeah, it's a darn shame. I really liked my Xperia Compact XZ1 & XZ2 when I had them. If it weren't for how much I dislike Google I probably would have stayed with my XZ2 for much longer. But I'll be quite happy once I have my hands on the new 12 Mini. So excited!

You think people who buy the iPhone 12/12Mini aren’t the sort of people who own multiple Apple devices like watches, iPads and MacBooks???

Are you serious and why???

No, I'm saying that people who have to choose one device (due to budget constraints) are more likely to purchase the largest iPhone they can get, since they also have to consume content on it (youtube, netflix, etc), whereas consumers with more disposable income can get a phone and a laptop and a desktop and an Apple TV and an iPad and choose the ideal device for specific tasks or entertainment. In that use-case, a phone essentially just needs to be a phone, so portability (and pocketability) are key.

That certainly fits some people I’m sure somewhere but that’s a very select example IMO. The 12 isn’t exactly cheap at a starting price of £799 ($1029) so I think those with budget constraints are more likely to buy a 6.1” XR/11 seeing as Apple surprisingly still offer both of those at £499 and £599 respectively. The 12 is attractive to the mainstream buyers who want the new iPhone and don’t see the benefits of the Pro. That sort of fits my case and perhaps nearly everybody I know. My wife can get any phone she wants but is opting for the 12 Mini. Budget isn’t even a factor as the phone is offering everything she wants in the size needed. The price gap has closed this year and I personally think it’s less about affordability and everything to do with what is on offer.

The specification gap between the 12 and 12 Pro is surprisingly minimal this time around and that’s excellent for buyers like me.
