And that is why the prices will go up to combat that additional cost that Apple will face
No - they’re just gatekeeping and setting the rules for foreign entry and imports into the European market.
Just like Trump is doing with his tariffs in his country and his market.
PS: Europe has a sizeable trade deficit in services with the U.S.
So going by Trump’s logic, tariffs are justified to stop that rip-off.

Sure the EU could regulate imports and tariff pricing. They are already in a downhill slide to mediocrity with the DMA.
Tariffs on big tech services will make Europe great again.
If they’re making America so great again, why shouldn’t the same apply to Europe?
Europe just has to make sure that consumers and local developers can “switch” to local services.
And that’s what the DMA takes care of (enabling competition and consumers to switch).
Good. I’d like to see some real competition to Apple, google and Microsoft originating from the EU.
Competition is great for all.
What I’m saying is the base level iPhone has been priced 180 more than the previous model so in turn this will raise the prices of the rest

The base model to me is the iPhone 16E & because that has had an increase of 180 on the previous model then the rest will get bumped up in price to combat the tariffs
That’s not the base model period. That’s the SE replacement which is not a base model.
It sure seems like the least expensive current generation iPhone (16e) would be considered the base model.
So through all of these years the SE has been the base model iPhone? I don’t believe it was ever considered such. Lower costing iPhone sure.

You’re providing a definition, which is not the way Apple has structured the lineup. With your logic you are saying the SE was the base model to the iPhone 15.

The 16e is not a base model to the iPhone 16 anymore than the iPhone SE was a base model for the iPhone 15. That you choose to view it that way doesn’t mean it is. The 16e is the entry level iPhone available after its introduction, taking the place of the iPhone SE.
Your arguing about a definition of something that describes what the iPhone 16E that is why it replaced the previous base model & then got a 180 price increase
