If it takes an hilarious keynote announcement, a device that weighs 57kg and a stupid price tag for them to go back to the drawing board, then so be it.
At least they had… courage.

with a price at $3,000 or more for starting point they should just cancel it at this point be for it turns in to a big flop

At this point I’m sick if hearing the stabs in the dark at when this product will come. We know it will come, bloody leave it at that. They have no clue what they’re talking about. Speculation around the Apple Watch began at the end of 2012 and a rumoured release date was initially set for the fourth quarter of 2013. After multiple revisions to that, it didn’t launch until 2015. So, although I dont think it will be a smash immediately, I think a lot of this negativity and delays is normal.

I think it's a problem for the many cackling creeps that claim to know what Apple is about to do, or not do. It's not a problem for Apple until it ships and cracks at the corners show up.

When stupidity is considered patriotism, it is unsafe to be intelligent. -- Isaac Asimov

Gort! Klaatu barada nikto! Klaatu barada nikto!

You just melted my M1 rifle...

Ming-Chi Kuo is just trolling us all now! I think the Apple Car is going to come out before Apple's AR/VR Headset!

Pushed back again huh? Classic Tim Apple move here. This thing is going to flop anyway, so it might as well just go the way of the AirPower at this point. What a joke! At least people are finally waking up, slowly but surely, to what Apple has become.

How is this equivalent? This thing is still an unconfirmed rumor with no confirmation from Apple in any shape or form, whereas AirPower was an officially announced product. If anything Apple has learned from the AirPower launch and decided to release hardware only when it’s absolutely ready.

Well… good luck with that! 🙂

People already have a hard time reading other folks' faces for emotions… so now we're going to be fine with an ersatz facsimile that kinda looks like you, but is off just enough to be disconcerting… ?

Facial expressions are a huge part of our human interaction. We are incredibly nuanced… it took god knows how many millions of years to get us here and now silicon chips are going to solve it?

I doubt any company is going to nail this within the next 5 decades.

This podcast is worth a listen…
Summary:

Most people think it's past the uncanny valley already, so it won't feel off. Almost certainly maximum one decade before it's productized.

You'll have an easier time reading faces in photorealistic VR compared to videocalls due to parallax, depth perception, and spatialized audio. This will also more easily kick in social mirroring which is how we bounce off each other's social cues.

Haha 😂 I was bang on the money. All you muppets who sat last week and claimed it was happening all these post I have said it time and time again it’s not happening it’s made up and doesn’t exist. The story last week that people was concerned about it I commented saying that’s the internet fan boys who make this story up got an excuse to say it’s delayed and bang next week it’s delayed , said it on posts in December it was not going to be shown in march ( planned event for it , turned out fake ) , now summer and it’s delayed..

When you will idiots learn to stop spreading fake news and believe things online

Muppets?? Lol 🤦‍♂️

I still don't understand why people think the $3000 - $4000 pricing is outrageous.

Comparative headsets for example from Varjo.com start at those prices – WITHOUT processing power. You need to connect them to a computer costing as much.

As for applications, I doubt the first version will be aimed at consumers. It's more likely a pro product for applications similar to Varjo's.

The SDKs will be released at WWDC, development hardware available end of year, early next year.

The new Apple keeps announcing new features at the Keynotes with longer lead times before the product is the ready for prime time. This is just another example.

Haha 😂 auto type on my phone. And a bad speller, point is these stories happen every year and it’s the same thing. There is no apple VR/AR because the market is horrible for it. Meta has already slashed the prices of its brand new headset , PSVR 2 is not even given numbers of sales by Sony. More and more companies are going back to basics when using computers and more and more companies are focusing on health rather than VR/AR. General public feedback is simple no one wants to sit and wear a headset when they can just look at a screen and it does the same job. I said it time and time again and people mocked me on previous comments saying I was the idiot etc. and here we go around exactly what I stated last week in a post start of April it’s now delayed. Funny how I know this will happen. That’s right i know why because it’s the same pattern since 2015 lol 😂

They need to delay this a year.
It’s been delayed since 2015, they delay it till next year guess what happens it will get delayed next year too because the tech will be outdated. It’s not even a things it’s not happening and won’t ever come out. If they have a headset it’s internal use only

Apple's brand is damaged every day Cook is at the helm.
Yet the stats and figures say different, apple have posted more profits and sold more products and partnerships with more platforms and companies than anyone els especially during a pandemic, so Tim Cook is doing rather well

Who peed in your cereal this morning? I know you're being overly-dramatic just to get attention, but your overly-harsh summary of Apple and Tim Cook is completely out of tune with reality.

Everyone worried about the hardware and looks, I'm worried about the SDK, is that thing very well documented? Is it going to have great HOWTOs videos or courses? how many developers we'll need to create an AR/VR app? is Xcode enough?
Yep, right on target. Apple takes years to get the API docs done. We still have APIs that are years old with absolutely no documentation. Apple just assumes you live near Apple headquarters and can get someone to explain them to you.

Profits and brand are only loosely related. Profits only decline after years of brand destruction. The thing is, after brand destruction it is very heard to recover.

Love my PSVR2 but Sony makes games. Not sure what Apples intentions are and what is the difference between AR and VR?

This rumour doesn’t make any sense. If the concern has been about the product itself not being ready and it was at the point of being brought out to the world and entering mass production, delaying by a couple months doesn’t make any sense. You’re not making any major changes this late in development “in a few months”.
Disney announced layoffs to their entire metaverse team yesterday. This all makes perfect sense. This entire market segment is stupid and everyone’s slowly waking up to it, with the exception of Mark Suckerberge

If you think apple brand is is downfall and self destruction then you’re out of touch with reality. Apple are outselling every brand in Europe they are winning awards in the movie industry and snapping up apps, snapping up software companies , heck they are now bidding for live sports and partnering with sports teams and car companies, their phones are now becoming main players for law enforcement, education is now playing roles with apple and their devices and apple products are selling like hot cakes every day. If you think that’s a company that’s in trouble and struggling then you don’t have a clue. Profits are only as good as your products and how well they sell. Apples profits suggest they are great and doing well. And apple continues to look to re invent itself in new markets, already in talks to allow movies they make come to cinemas, bidding for live sports and re imagined the music industry once again , re invented the headphone space, and now re in venting the health with the watch and fitness industries.
