Why Call Android users Stupid?
Take a look at this chart. Android still has almost 73 percent of the mobile OS Market.

so they should giving they sell thousands more different phone models than apple. awful comparison to even mention that. certainly when the huge amount of sales are in the budget devices not the devices apple sell the most of.

Currently, I'm somewhat ambivalent about foldable phones. I think the real challenge, beyond the engineering of the device and the materials, is going to be the user interface.

I would welcome a foldable iPhone as I have had the fold 2 which is/was great. just I feel apps are let down and the cost is expensive.

that said if apple can get the software where apps are as good as the iPad then it's a win but still for the cost not everybody would want one.

to buy the foldable at 2k it would need all the latest features as the pro line. something samsung don't offer with the fold from the S series.

Great pictures. Where are the sensors for Face ID though? 🤔
And I'm pretty sure, the ten or twenty whiny people, who STILL think the notch is worse than the anti christ wouldn't impact iPhone sales that much. 😆
Did you read anything from what I wrote? :p

It's clearly not just "10-20 whiny people" when entire companies photoshop the notch out of their promotional content.

Sales schmales, if Apple were to throw some serious R&D into killing the notch faster they'd be in for a supercycle that would eclipse the iPhone 6.

Im not the biggest fan of this idea. I feel like if apple does make this its just gonna fail like Samsungs.

Another pointless product a vocal minority clamors for but will never put money on the table for - like the iPhone mini.

I am sad 3D tvs are gone. I love the one I have, it was far superior in regular image to regular 1080p. I wish I could get an 8K 3D it would be amazing
I guess you must be one of the vocal minority for the pointless product 3D TVs.

I still think it's a gimmick that's going nowhere. The user base of people actually interested, minus those priced out and those who are worried about reliability and support, is too thin.
They're going for the impulse buy, but this will only work only if it's affordable.

Sure, you can say the same about cars, 90% of people would be fine with a smaller car than what they have, but the psichology is different here.

I could see it more likely in some sort of weird form factor like the dashboard of a car or something. I could see Apple experimenting with a phablet or something in order to get the production down.

This is basically history repeating itself. Remember back in 2014 when we said " NO THANK YOU!!" To the 5.5 iPhone size saying that it's too big and too close to being an iPad and that people would laugh at you for carrying such a big phone only to find out that it sold out like crazy and a lot of people would camp outside the apple store every night for the next few weeks asking the staff " Do you guys have the Plus?" So yup I'm not to crazy about the iFold idea either but watch me along with a lot of people will be going crazy for it come September of 2023 lol!

This would be two or more batteries thick. So how are the more compact batteries coming along?

Apple is working to launch a foldable iPhone with an 8-inch QHD+ flexible OLED display in 2023, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said today in a note to investors that was seen by MacRumors.

Kuo predicts that foldable smartphones will become a "must-have" for all major smartphone brands and will boost the next "super replacement cycle" for high-end models, and he believes Apple is well positioned to be the "biggest winner" in the foldable device trend. Apple will ship 15 to 20 million foldable iPhones in 2023, according to Kuo.Kuo believes that the upcoming iPhone will adopt a silver nanowire touch solution for the device's display, which will create a "long-term competitive advantage" for Apple in the foldable device market. This display technology will be needed for future foldable devices that support more than a single fold.Kuo says that Apple is already using silver nanowire for the touch interface of the HomePod, allowing Apple to "master the technology" at a lower cost using small volume production.

This is not the first time that we've heard rumors from Kuo about a foldable iPhone. Back in March, Kuo said that Apple could be planning to launch a foldable iPhone with a 7.5 to 8-inch display in 2023, though at the time, Kuo said that this launch timeline would be dependent on Apple solving "key technology and mass production issues."

Kuo said in the same note that development on a foldable iPhone had "not yet officially kicked off," though Apple's plans may have progressed with Kuo now providing additional details about the display technology the company plans to use.

If it bends, it will break. I need more emojis

If Apple do ever launch you know it is because it’s right.
Current folding phones don’t work due to lack of quality, lack of implementation and lack of software intervention.

I’m more likely to go down in size on my next iPhone upgrade (from the 12 Pro Max) as I’ll likely be spending more time on my 2021 iPad Pro 12.9” (cellular). As it is now, I use my iPP 12.9“ (2018) so much for both productivity and entertainment that I can’t see accepting the trade-offs required of a folding device. And no, I don’t think Apple will figure out how to resolve the issues, where other brands haven’t been successful.

Yea, No. I doubt they will get a foldable screen with a life span of 2 to 3 years any time soon…

funny people think these are a fad. They are just getting started. They will turn into our new phones. when you’re at home you use it as an iPad. Never have to close it. In the car its a media and maps device. When you want to get work done you have real estate to be more productive like a computer.
why do people hate on something they can’t imagine themselves using? I’d use it all the time. I’d get rid of my iPad mini of course.
Phones will evolve into more than just one sheet of glass you hold in one hand. It’s just inevitable.
comparing it to a 3D tv makes zero sense. Really if you think about the things I said are use cases it makes no sense comparing it to a 3D tv. Or a curved TVs. Both of those had small fan base and 3D came with complications. Curved tv’s are good for monitors. That’s about it.
