All I am waiting for is a no chin iMac. Make 2020 the year it happens Apple!

I hope so too.
It’s easy for armchair analysts to point to how low priority Macs are to Apple’s bottom line.
This past week’s earnings report show Macs sales account for only 8% of Apple’s revenue.

But Mac buyers are pretty savvy...and patient. If you update it, we’ll probably buy it. If you leave a product idle (like the Mac mini for many years) we won’t. Wearables took off because of updated AirPods and AWs.

I think many aren’t asking for a radical iMac redesign (like a Surface Studio), but simply updated bezels, and thermals. I’d also trade the current tapered thin edge for a thicker squared frame with zero bezel. Something akin to Apple’s current 6K HDR display. Surely they can shoehorn a logic board into that. :)

You mean the iPad Mini 5 with A12 chip isn't good enough?

Of course it is, but if they are going to bring out one in a couple of months then I would rather wait. Particularly if they shrink the bezels. But unfortunately with their release schedule, it is a bit all over the place, so no idea when a new one will come out.

Besides my Apple Watch, the iPad mini 5 is my second favorite Apple product. I use it more than my phone It's a little powerhouse.

Edited to add: Looking forward to Apple's new tile competition product.

They likely won’t be bring out one until at least fall, with A14. But fall of 2021 an A15 wouldn’t surprise me either; it’s a relatively low volume product. I wouldn’t necessarily expect a bezel shrink either.

Which one?

I'm not really sure, but
- A whole new camera array
- A new ToF sensor
- An all-new A13X chip with more power
- More battery life (see 2019 iPhones)
do not sound like a small update to me.

Prices went up $150 on the redesigned pros.

Nobody asked for faceid on the iPad. Certainly nobody wants to pay that much for it.
Same as the stupid touchbar price increases..
Nobody wants to pay for a better camera or ToF on the iPad either. You've had too much koolaid..

Seems very justified for me though, YMMV.

Be careful with "nobody" and "everybody" statements - if you were right, iPad Pros wouldn't sell like they do right now and Apple's tablet business wouldn't gain market share in a declining tablet market.

I’m hoping for over the ear AirPods. I’m not a fan of in ear headphones as it can really destroy your hearing in the long run.

So can over ear headphones. It’s all about how loud the program material is and how long you listen (at excessive levels).

To the extent poor sealing—or worse, open back—headphones cause you to turn the volume up even higher to mask external noise, over ears can be worse than in-ears, which form a good seal and therefore don’t have to be driven to such high SPLs. In ear/ANC should allow the lowest volume to be used.

In any case, you’re right to be concerned. Many younger (and not so young) folks have damaged their hearing, some quite severely.

Very good point and so true about turning the volume up to mask external noise. Thank you!
