The rumoured iPhone 12 pro with 5.4" screen and square sides like a 4/5/SE is all the phone I have been waiting for since I got an SE on release. Just have to swallow the price by keeping it 4-5 years. Hope it's true.

I have kept my iPhones for 4 to 5 years cause of the price, I will buy the iPhone 2022 in 2023.
Next year I will most prob. buy the Apple Watch 6 and AirPods if they release it black colour.

I’m glad they’re releasing twice a year now, once was not enough. Now that they’re releasing a low cost phone let’s hope for a TRULY premium model in the $2-5K range!

The rumor states the frame surface will be like an iPhone 4, not the shape. In other words, it won't be square.

The iPhone 4 has a matte stainless steel band. iPhone X moved to a polished band.

Any update on the SE's Back Camera Image Sensor ???

Very-likely ONLY 8 Mpx ! :(

the original SE has a 12MP Back sensor so why do you think it will have a 8MP Back sensor

More people liked the original iPhone SE because of it's small 4" display, not it's low price. The $399 price tag is very competitive, and I imagine Apple will sell millions of these devices. Also, no gold "iPhone SE 2"?

again wrong

More people loved the original SE, for both the price and size, but nowadays people want a cheaper iPhone with the latest goods like the original SE Had than size.

There was some speculation it might be known as the iPhone 8S or iPhone 9 for marketing and sensibility purposes "less than X(r) and 11 but more than the 8 it is replacing"

I think more people would buy the 4” SE with upgrades internals. A13, 64GB storage, 4GB RAM, 4K camera, HD front facing camera sell it for $1,200.00 the base or entry level. Top of line 1TB SE foe $2,800.00.

We all know "SE" represents that 4" phone. This is like the time Apple said, "we killed the iPod mini and replaced it with this", when they killed nothing, because products are not alive. What they really did is just update a music player to make it thinner. This rumor is about iPhone 8 with updated A13 chip. Now, where in the hell is my small full-screen phone.

For Apple theSE was about costs and being competitive. They just happened to use older parts. Which where cheaper.

Fast forward and iPhone 8 parts are the cheaper option.

Nice spec list, but $1200? Or even $2800 as you’re listing it, is not even remotely price appropriate for what this phone will offer. It’s likely more to be slated probably around $500 to $550.

I'll say it: they shouldn't call it, even in rumors, the "SE2". SE = small 4' phone. Never going to happen; 'it's dead, Jim'. Don't want to get small phone lovers' hopes up unless you're going to actually deliver. Not fair to them. BTW: I want the larger iPhone 8 size and I'm stoked that it just may come out before any of my VerizonUP Device Dollars will expire.

Calling this iPhone 8 v2 the 'iPhone SE' would be horrible and I hope Apple don't do it.

Having said that, given his propensity to assume product names I do think it would be funny if Apple called the other device in the story the 'iPad Kuo' :D

Apple should really consider streamlining its hardware design language across its iOS handheld devices, right now we have one design for the SE, another for the 8, 11 and Pro with a similar design.

May it resemble the iPad Pro for the entire iPhone line and there will seem to be some cohesion. iPad lineup would also benefit except keep the budget line with TouchID and Pro line with FaceID until the cost for components drops. iOS UI/UX is a mess between TouchID and FaceID devices on iPhone.

Last time there was an 8mp sensor was in an iPhone 6 in 2014. Wtf are you even talking about?

Apple will likely sell this phone till autumn 2022, if the original SE is any indication. They absolutely need today’s latest camera tech in there with night mode and all if they’re planning to keep it a compelling offer for the next 2,5 years. Hence iPhone 11’s main camera with all the same capabilities is my bet.

Even though I’m resigned to the fact it won’t happen I would love for the 3.5mm port to be reintroduced. Kinda like how Google brought it back for the Pixel 3A.
It’s too bad that by including the 3.5mm jack on mid-range devices, and not on the flagships, manufacturers are effectively making the mid-rangers more feature rich - in some respects.
Just my $0.02

It would be just a ‘bad look’ for Apple to include the 3.5 Jack on an entry level device and then not include it for the most expensive models. The reality is, even though the 3.5 mm Jack is still relevant, it makes sense why Apple decided to remove it and for allowing newer technology/battery improvements to be in place, and Bluetooth has grown exponentially with the AirPods. Phil Schiller was right, it was antiquated bad time for it to go. I certainly don’t miss it at all.

Hurry up and release the phone already so all this back-and-forth bickering about what it should be called is done with......

I’ll respectfully disagree. The inclusion of the 3.5mm jack did not impede the new tech. It did fatten Apple’s coffers because they can more effectively sell expensive and inferior sounding Bluetooth buds/headphones. Schiller’s job, like any exec at any company is to grow shareholder value.
I can use AirPods with my SE but prefer the fidelity of my Sony Studio Monitors. Preferences vary and I suppose mine leans towards sound quality and never having to charge what ultimately delivers the sound to my ears. Sometimes the cord gets in the way but they sound better to me than Beats or Bluetooth cans.
After hearing how amazing flagship LG phones sound it’s a shame their flavour of Android is not to my liking.

The name that makes the most sense is iPhone Classic. It retains Touch ID, LCD, and historical appearance. There is also precedent with the iPod Classic.

I personally invite a better battery iPhone 8. I get to keep my accessories and I actually like the home button. :x
edit: on an iPhone 7 right now and really enjoy it.

I don't think it would be confusing.. Who would ever get confused between this and the original SE, Apple does not sell anymore?

Just call it the 'SE', people will come to he right conclusion.

This iPad Pro release rumour date is getting later and later. First it was either a October 2019 release (Gurman) or else late 2019/early 2020 manufacturing (Kuo). With that I was expecting perhaps a Feb. 2020 / mid Q1 2020 release.

However, these H1 2020 predictions (both Gurman and Kuo) are now suggesting it could be later, like early to mid spring. Hopefully not that long, since mid spring is 5 months from now.

I would not at all be surprised if Apple just called it SE. That name makes the most sense to me. And if not SE, then SE 2.

Ya'll care way too much about names.
I was going to make this exact comment.

That’s not an iPhone SE 2

Stop
Calling
It
The
SE 2
Putting it in quotes isn't enough for you? Everyone knows it's just a placeholder name until the actual phone is announced. Go find something to obsess over.

I know it won't happen but a 14-15 inch iPad Pro with 16GB Ram would be so amazing.
