Wasn't expecting this!

Of course - it's all speculation.

Bah, I think this guy only has about 42% chance of being right about the 55%. But then I think I'm only right about 62% of the time. Given that, I doubt more than 3% of people care.

Or maybe it's that early buyers tend to be the premium buyers? And that regular folk don't sit in front of their 'puter waiting for pre-orders to open?

It is challenging to know if any of these pre-orders may be returned within the 14 day window. The best indicator I found is Jan-Mar for iPhone sales as the hype has diminished and people are struck with the holiday season shopping bills.

Why not? People like phones, that's a good enough reason for me.

I like cars, that’s a good enough reason for me. /s ;):p:D

Mine is only 1 year old. Almost. And yes, wait another year.

Same, that Sep Apple event was the biggest snooze fest in years. These things are going from bad to worse and soon to be tragic post-Jobs era. The invites are interesting but then once the keynote concludes all the air just comes out without satisfaction.

I miss Jobs keynote days, he could present a polished turd and people still wanted to know more, that enthusiasm has been long gone.

Clearly if you can't afford it you should not buy it. But I can afford it - but why give all my money away right away when I can earn interest on it by paying monthly? If apple said cash gets you 10% off (which my fav local restaurant does) then I'm all for cash. But give me an incentive to part ways with money all upfront.

I can afford it but still not buying the 2019 models, even if I can write off the purchase. The ugly does not get hidden with a case as there is a cutout for the camera array. For Apple believing it is like a fashion company, I am not sure what they were thinking if at all.

I hope it flops so the design and engineering team along with management comes to they senses for the 2020 models.

It is shocking the amount of money people are accustomed to paying on mobile phone plans and to add expensive phones that are upgraded annually, I honestly scratch my head on this decision.

I pay with taxes included $6/month and I receive unlimited calls/text/3GB LTE data that is capped by choice to not pay more and roaming included. I keep my data in check as I do not require more mainly because every place I frequent has wifi.

What I pay in a year is what some people pay for half a month of service for one month. I save quite a bit of income that even if I did not receive my iPhones for free, I could pay for with the savings from my phone plan.

The iUP is the biggest wool over the customers eyes I have seen, it provides Apple little to no incentive to include more every year as an upgrade is guaranteed by most.
What carrier / service do you have that is only $6 per month? That is a fantastic deal. I am paying $55 per month for unlimited at Verizon (phone not included). I know there are some cheaper alternatives but they are still in the $40+ per month and where I live, Verizon really does have the best coverage but I know that varies from place to place around the country.

Canada for me. When in the US, T.Mo has me covered due to the coverage area in the particular State.

I had crunched some numbers awhile back and my rough estimate is that LTE data costs carriers about $0.50/1GB LTE. I still feel I am overpaying but not complaint too much.

In some European nations I used to pays €5/50GB LTE.

the iPhone 11 Pro Max is literally the best design we've had in ages. The singular sheet of milled back glass of my Pro Max is just gorgeous. Dont tramp on a perfect design just cuz u r too poor and cant afford it.

I am with you on this design thing, I love my iPhone 11 pro max and I also think it’s beautiful.
Not worth trashing people on not being able to afford it no matter the way they react at it.
Besides, tastes do differ. I never liked the X and Xs series. I really though the design was made for red-necks but that was just my oppinion.

I was lucky enough to trade my old 7 Plus when I visited US and did some effort to upgrade.
The camera bump in the back - well I wish Apple would find a way to make those flat one day, but they worked out nicely by adding the glass around it so it looks stylish enough. (this and the large notch would be my two minor complains)

In general, I believe it’s good to go on a 3-4 years upgrade cycle on these phones since they behave nice for the first 2 and half - 3 years.

I try to collect the money / year to try to upgrade it mainly because until now I think Apple did a good job with their HW and SW and I am an Apple fan boy :)

Cheers mate! Don’t get angry on threads... not worth it ;)

Yeah pretty huge step forward :) and super slick compared to 7 plus.
that’s why I won’t do bigger upgrade until I get the same WOW again and with luck I pray my company will send me to NY so I will do that again in the 5th Avenue Store :-D

Lol, I can afford it. It’s an evolution of the 6 design with different materials over the years and minor changes. The curved rim is not ideal when holding the device, the flat edges of the 4 are great hence the iPad Pro has adopted it, plus great for charging that wireless pencil.
