Apple marketing sure knows what
they’re doing. It’s as simple as that, at least the way I see it.
They would elect to show customers dates months out to generate more interest? Makes zero sense. As even people here have commented they cancelled or did not order with ship dates in late October-early November. And people think Apple is contriving this shortage??

Strange thing though - if I pre order a 256gb blue regular Pro, it says I’ll get it Oct 11, but if I say in store pickup it says Sep 22. Not sure how that works?
Cuz in the stores they have OTHER phones. It's not like the one you order online will be shipped from a warehouse to the Apple store of your choice the moment you select the in-store pick-up option 😂😂

I thought the demand would be stronger than expected. Not only will the USB-C port convince some android users to switch, but more importantly I think, the last significant update to the iPhone was the iPhone 12. That's 3 years ago, which is the average time for upgrades. And lots of incentives to upgrade from the 12, including AOD screen, 120z display, dynamic island, better camera, etc.

And people complain that these iphone 15 pro max didnt brought enough upgrades
I bet even some Android users bought this
Maybe not a lot of upgrades compared to the 14 pro, but the average person doesn't upgrade their phone every year. Lot of people don't factor this in. Even if they did bring a lot of upgrades, asking people to spend over $1000 every year is a lot to ask.

I hope the iPhone Ultra 16 finally supports the Apple Pencil.

Most profitable company in all history of all earth. Greatest marketing machine in all history of all earth. Random internet poster says company accidentally screwd up. Every year.

OK

I think it's just a portion of them being shipped via ship and not via plane. I read Apple's report on this, and I can't remember if it was the iPhones or another device, but I definitely remember reading that 50% of them were being shipped via sea, and the remaining via air.
Haha. Thanks for addressing this! I was really surprised to read they’d changed it.

For years, I thought it a bit frustrating Apple would let people pay for the express option when everything, regardless of choice, went 3-day international express from overseas.

Friday, I noticed I could have paid $9 to get my case earlier in the week (both dates before my iPhone is set to arrive.) I didn’t. It came Saturday.

I’ve yet to buy a Pro Max. That size seems just a little too wide. The current Pro size of 6.1” is a good enough fit that I don’t have issues getting it into the same front pants pocket that I keep my wallet in. My keys, work cell and chap stick are in the other front pocket. I’m 6’1” tall, 215 lbs and wear 34x32 or 36x32 pants depending on style and fit.

I think I’d like the Pro Max but I’m nervous it won’t fit into my front pants pocket given the size I wear? Do those with the Pro Max around my size keep it comfortably in their front pants pocket? Is it the only thing you keep in the pocket it’s in? I keep my wallet in that same pocket as well. It isn’t huge but it’s a bifold with a decent number of cards in it. Debit and credit cards, a couple of rewards cards, health insurance and prescription insurance cards, my license, a copy of my registration and car insurance, voter registration card (just in case) and two small USB thumb drives.

If I knew I could still get a wallet and the Pro Max in my pocket I’d go for it. I’d even be willing to have both my work cell and iPhone Pro Max in that pocket if the wallet is to big or perhaps downsize the wallet since I rarely use some of what I keep in the wallet. My work phone is an Android that is slightly smaller than my iPhone Pro.

If there are others my size who can get a Pro Max and a wallet or another phone in their same front pants pocket perhaps I’ll try the Max in the future though I hear the 16 is due to have larger screens on both the Pro and Pro Max models.

Same for me.

The stores have a guaranteed supply so basically you are reserving one of the guaranteed phones delivered on that day.

I chose to just wait for shipment. I don't want to deal with all the hoopla and possible chaos of launch day store pickup.

This article makes sense. Stronger demand than forecasted is due to pricing on some countries, like European countries gets better due to exchange rate and other various factors: production delays, more upgraders, etc. Apple is doing well. 👍👍👍

I'm smaller than you but I have/had the same dilemma.

I currently have an iPhone 11 which is bigger than the Pro and almost the same width as the ProMax and 35mm shorter.

I think the ProMax would come to just below the top of my jeans, mostly Levi's 511's, but I do have some other jeans that have deeper pockets.

I will say that different jean companies have widely different pocket depths so take that into consideration.

I have a few pair of Levi's 510's, skinny jeans 🙃, and my iPhone 11 barely fits in it.

I agree that if the iPhone 16 Pro's go to 6.3 and 6.9, giggity giggity, that I would definitely choose the 6.3.

It could also make the 14 an 15 ProMax's more valuable on resale for those who feel the 6.7 is the absolute biggest they would go.

Unless you're wearing skinny jeans, I don't think the size of the Pro Max will make a difference if you can already fit the Pro and your wallet. The 12 Pro Max was still able to slip to a horizontal position in chino/khaki pockets.

I went from a 12 Pro Max back down to the 15 Pro because the Max was just too wide to use comfortably but I'm smaller than you.

For the US users, I'll be traveling to Miami by Mid October. Do you think Pro Max 256gb will be available by that time in stores?
Yeah, no problem. Who would go to Miami to buy cheap electronics and other products?
As a friend from Colombia once tolde me "The good thing about Miami is that it is so conveniently close to the US".
You might get lucky, but don't count on it. (Which could be the city's official motto.)
