Kuo: Apple CEO's full name is not in fact Tim Apple.

Kuo: Insider reveals iPhone 17 will eventually arrive after iPhone 15, but not before iPhone 16.

Kuo: 1+1 shall still equal 2 for at least the next five years.

All for an improved camera and a charge port they should've had 8 years ago. The only reason I bought it was the Verizon credit I'm getting for my very old phone... they kind of make it a no brainer. The cost of a new phone is the same, might as well get the new one and the silver lining is I can toss my lightning cables I've been collecting since the iPhone 5.

Absolutely agree. The thing these conspiracy theorists don't understand is that limiting supply is just bad business. They want to sell as much product as soon as they can. Every second your product isn't available is a potential lost sale; a chance for someone to buy a less expensive model, the competitions product or nothing at all. There's no benefit, at all, to fake manufacturing limits.

It makes zero sense.
Additionally, Apple’s stock price would be negatively affected by not selling as many iPhones this quarter (July-September) as they have in previous quarters. Apple uses employee share options as a benefit to retain talent, so they have an interest in boosting the company’s share price.

Coming next year is the Ultra. It’ll likely be another selling point vs the Pro.
Are you suggesting that Apple is going to create a whole new line ABOVE the Pro and call it the Ultra? Or that Apple is just going to change the name of the Pro Max to the Ultra iPhone?

It will probably sell better to the enthusiasts than the last couple of models, it seems like a nice upgrade overall compared to the past few years. No more obnoxious lightning port, new material, and possibly more useful action button. I will probably end up upgrading once the out of stock frenzy buying period settles down. No idea about total sales though.

Wish they would do something about that camera corner on the back though, it is just not attractive imo. Surprised they didn't redesign that with the switch in material.

The same old story every year - Apple never learns and never makes enough to meet demand to create a false sense of scarcity.
So I guess the PSP, Xbox, Switch and other popular products must do the same thing? They were not readily available for months after release. Simple fact is enough product cannot be produced for the initial wave of sales.

Why even waste their time making anything other than the Pro and Pro Max?
It’s good business to offer lower tiers that aren’t as good of a value so that it makes the premium tier more value able in people’s eyes. Take the iPad for example. The cheapest is like $250 but you add more storage you need and it takes you to $400. Well then you can get the better iPad for $400 so why not? Oh wait the storage isn’t enough so I will increase that. Oh now I am at $600. Well I can get the air for that which is lot better. Then you have to upgrade storage again bringing it to the price of the pro. See what they do there? They do the same with the phones.

Average normie consumer here.

First upgrade since the X 256G (2017.)

Opted for the 15 Pro Max which cost me the same as my X did, 6 years ago.

Quite substantial improvements now, most notably hardware, USB-C and the camera.

Looking forward to the software-based gimmicks too.

The fact that people keep falling for these shipping estimate updates is yet another reminder that most really don't understand how good Tim Cook is at his job.

Apple will not tolerate having to possibly wait till November for them to secure their money away from your pocket.

Anyone who purchased in September will have it by October, pretty much guaranteed in the United States and most developed nations across the globe.

Strange thing though - if I pre order a 256gb blue regular Pro, it says I’ll get it Oct 11, but if I say in store pickup it says Sep 22. Not sure how that works?
There’s a fixed separate allocation for stores. More people buy online for direct delivery than for store pickup.

I hope the iPhone Ultra 16 finally supports the Apple Pencil.
It’s unlikely that Apple would include the charging electronics and magnets for the presumably small minority of users who would use it.

They have a certain # for pre-order and the rest of stock goes to stores. Last year that happened to me, switched to apple store pick up and got it right away (because just like this year the apple store app crapped out).

I’ve heard both rumors. That the “Ultra” would be a separate even more premium line above the Pro iphones & I’ve also heard that the Ultra would just be a renaming of the iPhone Pro Max. I guess we will find out as soon as next year. My question is that if the “Ultra” will be a separate even more premium line than the Pro iPhones, how will they market it & justify the higher price than the pro line? The Apple Watch Ultra is marketed as more robust for outdoor sports with a longer battery life. But there is no “Pro” Apple watch. In essence, the Ultra Apple watch IS the “Pro” version. I assume the Ultra iphone will be marketed for professional photographers? So Apple will have to go all out on the camera lenses if they are going to charge even more than the iPhone Pro Max. Like maybe 4 or 5 lenses. Much bigger sensors etc. It just seems a weird choice. Right now the iPhone Pro Max is their flagship iphone. It would seem to me that creating an even more premium iphone would cannibalize their top seller. No? I am just not convinced yet of Apple creating a whole new premium line of iphone above the current Pro line. Everything is rumor & speculation right now.
