Yes, the creative control provided by more expense dedicated cameras is overrated. And dedicated cameras are harder to use. iPhone does all the work!

Nope.

The photographer (with his/her life experiences, the ability to read the quality of light, ability to compose, recognizing potential narratives, and on and on) does all the work, producing compelling photographs that connect with viewers.

Apple's iPhone 15 Pro Max will continue to be the best-selling iPhone model in the first half of this year, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Writing in his latest industry note on Medium, Kuo said the iPhone 15 Pro Max "will still account for 40–45% of all iPhone 15 shipments in 1H24," which will be "critical" to Taiwanese camera lens supplier Largan's buoyant off-season in the first half of the year.

Apart from being the premium model with the largest display at 6.7-inches, the iPhone 15 Pro Max also features a 5x Telephoto zoom or "tetraprism" lens that is not found in other models. The tetraprism lens in the Pro Max model alone is expected to increase Largan's first half-year revenue by $108.8 to $121.6 million, according to Kuo.

Kuo has repeatedly said he expects the tetraprism lens to expand to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max later this year, enabling at least 5x optical zoom and 25x digital zoom on the Telephoto lens of both premium models.

The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to feature a larger 6.3-inch display, compared to the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro. This change would increase the overall size of the device, which would provide additional internal space for a tetraprism lens.

According to a report by The Elec, Apple will add LG Innotek as another supplier of the folded zoom module used in the technology, in an attempt to secure production yields for the increased number of units required.

The iPhone 12 SSSS.
Yawn. How bout them fine woven cases?

how are people carrying these giant, heavy slabs around all day long?
As someone who's bought a 15 Pro Max and before that always had the normal sizes, I carry it in exactly the same way as my non-max phones. The one takeaway for me with the Max is how the bigger size just isn't a hazzle at all.

And no I don't wear wide cargo pants with deep pockets or something like that, suit pants and jeans. People really make the size difference much more than it is in terms of carriability.

The 15 ProMax is the same size as my XR in its case and I’ve never had a problem pocketing that. So yeah, much ado about nothing.

My experience as well having large iPhones since the 6+, and now a 15PM.

It's just not a big deal. Still... many here need a daily Apple "thing" to complain about.

I'm glad he's here to tell us this, I might have bamboozled myself into thinking it was actually the iPhone SE or something instead of Apple's most powerful model. :p

After going to 15 PM, I will never buy a smaller phone again mainly due to my aging eyes and it’s nice not worrying about losing features.

Serious question, what does the aging eyes have to do with it? The oldest coworker I have is 67 and he uses a 13 Mini, with the text size increased.

I'm 44, so not young, but I don't need any lenses at the moment for anything other than driving, and can read tiny text just fine...or I could just increase the text size if need be.

Why was (is?) the MacBook Air the best-selling Mac then when people can always buy one of many Pro models instead? I'm honestly surprised that it's not the base 15 model. (Sent from my second hand 13 mini 👑)

I'm a fairly trim guy (even at 44) and don't like wearing Big Boy Buster Brown husky cargo pants. Baggy clothes suck.

The Pro Max would fit in my scrub pockets, but not my daily pants. I have no use for a giant screen, though. The regular is fine.
This can’t be right I’m 6ft 2 and only a 32inch waist and I had no problem fitting a 15 pro max in any of my trouser pockets even slim fit jeans

I have a 30" waist and they fit, until I sit down then they are just super uncomfortable. I also use a popsocket on mine, so it makes them a bit thicker..

Are people still wondering why people prefer big phones? They’re not that big or heavy and the 15s are lighter than ever.

I’m absolutely convinced that the people complaining about the size of iPhones now have never even tried the bigger phones.

I carried an 8 Plus for two years and never got used to the size.

Some people just have no use for a larger phone. I don't watch/steam video on my phone (no YouTube, either). I don't use social media on it, I don't play any games on it. I barely use the cameras. I use CarPlay in the car.

In addition, I exclusively use my phone one handed. The Max doesn't lend itself to that.

Where do you get this stat from? Because I recently saw numbers which showed that the MBP line are selling more than the MBA.

Some people at that age are not as lucky as your coworker. And want to be able to read more text on a phone display. Often vision degrades with age, making it difficult to read small text.

Why be concerned about what makes a better reading experience for other people?

It was a question, not a concern. My coworker doesn't have good vision, at all, hence the blown-up text.

For anyone who has an iPhone 14 Pro Max, save your money. Don’t “upgrade” to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. They’re functionally the same phone.

I wear slimfit jeans and have never had a single issue with my phone fitting in my pocket.
