Ideal SE - no notch/no bezzels - full body lcd with cutout for camera (s10 like), touch id in power button, newest cpu/gpu chip, quallcomm wireless chip, main camera/sensor from 11 pro, 5.5 to 5.8 inch screen, stereo speakers and stereo recording - would be perfect! Chance to happen - 0% :)

Everyone is mad about the SE2 being similar in size (4.7") to the iPhone 8. Take our your rulers people. My current SE measures approximately 5.25" diagonally. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the newer edge to edge screen design I hope they'll be implementing, the SE2 will be around the same size of your current SE if not a little smaller. Yes, the 8 has a 4.7" screen, but the home button area adds to the dimensions. The SE won't have that (I hope) which in turn will make the entire phone slightly bigger than 4.7" give or take.

One last appeal Tim before you enter mass production. Its not that we want cheap, we want small! You’ve got the iPhone pro, how about the iPhone mini? I’ve hung on to my SE because I like to go running without a brick in my pocket.
2020 iPhone 5.4 will be similar in physical size to the SE.

I'd like to see a legit SE2 at some point (small device), but at least this 8S device has a home button and is smaller than a lot of the other devices on the market. It gives people an option for modern stuff on the inside of the device (A13 chip + 3 gigs RAM) without having to switch from comfortable user interface on the outside.

Unfortunately, it's not a 4.7 inch edge-to-edge screen. The new device is essentially a 8S. They are using leftover stock from producing the 8 and now they are going to put a new chip with extra RAM. I think it's a good option to help people that currently have the 6/7/8 and want better internal performance. But it's still a much larger phone than the SE.

I guess we live in a social media thriving world, and Apple doesn’t see enough of a reason to make a 4-inch device anymore. I’m sure there is a niche crowd that loves their 4-inch device, though. However, price is what will drive these sales up. That’s one of the reasons why the XR ($599) and 11 ($699) are doing so well.

This will be an upgraded iPhone 8 with updated internals. Add a bigger battery, updated cameras and A13 and most will be satisfied with that for $399.

And yet you could make an original SE sized phone with the screen size of the 8 in the current X design... That is what MANY people want.

Bigger screen uses more battery. Squeezing an all screen design into an SE sized phone would have terrible battery life.

So make it thicker and round it off more - just because Jony Ive got obsessed with thinness and awkward ergonomics it doesn't have to stay that way. The iPhone 3/3G was 12mm thick and felt perfect in hand, a couple of mm would restore any missing battery capacity.

Samsung s10e
I put my SE on the shelf three weeks ago and purchased a Samsung S10e. Quite pleased so far. My first dip in the Android pool and after a small learning curve, I haven't drowned yet or even needed to summon the lifeguard. It does take some getting used to the size (and this is a very small Android compared to most) but I would face the same issue with a new iPhone 11 pro so it was time to try something else at a much lower cost.

Did the same about 8 months back, still loving the S10e, my first non-Apple phone since the 3G! I got it direct from HK for the better processor and cheaper price (£500 UK). There's very little I miss from the iPhone and plenty to like - battery is miles ahead for me, I've had it off charge for around 8hrs now and am at 88% with light/moderate use, you'll notice the first couple of % goes very quickly compared to the SE but I rarely end the day under 50%. The one thing I dislike - having to hit "return" after typing a pin/passcode, still forget. Dragging and dropping files is so amazingly stress free compared to iTunes. :)

We should email Tim Cook and let him know a 4.0 inch screen is what we want. Steve Jobs used to read people's emails right?

It's not so much the 4" screen, it's a 4.7" screen in a similar sized phone to the SE, perfectly doable...

The S10e was my first too, I'm very impressed with it, wasn't in the past when I tried friend's Android phones. I'd try to get the Snapdragon processor version if poss, better in most measurable respects to Samsung's own this time round.
