It’ll probably be higher than $399, I’m thinking somewhere probably about $500 to $550 at the most. But still, if you look at Apple’s iPhone line up, that still relatively affordable considering no really other smart phone manufacturer is offering a Phone at that price, considering what It will probably offer in terms of ‘tech soecs’ in addition.
Samsung s10e

And.... that phone is Starting at $750, that’s not even remotely close to being competition to an entry-level iPhone that will probably be substantially $200 less than that.
Real price of this phone is like 500usd max... it cost 750 maybe first month after introduction...

Nope. It’s In stock for $750.00 through my carrier right now (See link below). But the point is, you can’t compare this phone to an entry-level 4.7 inch iPhone that’s not going to start at $750, when it will probably Venture near $500-$550.

Here where I live (EU) s10e is for same money as iphone 8 (actually ot is bit cheaper) via many official resellers, maybe it is different in states... but here, cheap almost flagship android phones exist:)

god i want copy of s10e from apple so badly:)

I dread an iPhone with a notch on the front, a bump on the back, and of course the disappearance of the headphone jack. So it's not really an SE at all, folks. It's just another iPhone that won't fit in your pants pockets. It will probably continue with Apple's fine tradition of poor cellular phone-call quality / drop-outs, etc., though, since no one apparently cares about using the iPhone to make phone calls... but to only take photos.
I wear skinny jeans and have had zero problems with my iPhone XR, never mind a smaller form factor.

I wish iOS worked on those phones, I would have made the switch immediately.

Mine as well, but hoping for better;)

most likely this phone will use the same main camera as the iPhone 11 series. Don’t forget SE used the same camera as the 6S ( not the 6S+ because of OIS)

Give it 5g and an a13 bionic and I'm game.

no. Why you think it will have 5G when the other A13 phones have 4G

Also, will it have wireless charging and a glass back?

im sure of it. Don’t forget SE had everything 5S had plus more ( like NFC/Apple pay etc). i think this one will have more things than the 8 except 3D touch

One last appeal Tim before you enter mass production. Its not that we want cheap, we want small! You’ve got the iPhone pro, how about the iPhone mini? I’ve hung on to my SE because I like to go running without a brick in my pocket.

Spot on. I do a lot of activities where the more compact design of the SE has huge advantage.

The iPhone lineup will now have 5 models...

We were spoiled with a simple lineup like the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus (bigger screen, same specs).

5 models will be a lot? Well, how about this?

how is it an upgrade if it loses 3d touch?
It's unfortunate. But at least, we can expect a much more battery life.

Okay? Yes, the new lineup will look like this. That's my point.

The perfect lineup is with an iPhone with iPhone 6's dimensions but with an edge to edge screen so the screen will be the same size as an iPhone X. Best of both worlds. Having an iPhone Pro Max screen size is just ridiculous. So get rid of that.

1 iPhone model every year, plus discount the previous years model.

Thats how it used to be and that's how it should be.

Ok, stop calling it a SE2 and call it what it really is, 8s. I think this will sell very well for those not wanting to spend a lot on a phone. For me, 128GB is the sweet spot.

actually, for the price, and the fact it has touchID, this phone will be very nice to keep me floating until the newer fully redesigned iphone 12 next year.

Sorry, but it doesn't seem like there's enough people who want tiny phones anymore. Actually, to me the iPhone 8 form factor seems pretty tiny after having gotten used to the 8 Plus long ago.

How would you know how many people want "tiny" phones, since there are none on the market?? (after the SE was discontinued last year)
If you like big phones, great. But don't project your desires on the huge number of us that want a 4" phone at ANY price.

It's not going to be cheaper than the identical but slower $450 8, so it'll either be $500 and the 8 will be unaffected, or the 8 disappears and they charge whatever they want, presumably not more than $500.

I don’t get why would anyone care how the phone is called? The real question is what it can do and for what price.
First, it doesn't look like a SE. Second, the phones (most) are in numerical order and to call it a 9 make no sense. Look at the X when it came out which should have been 10. Keep it consistent.

If the price is as we think it will be, I think it will be a good value and without the bells and whistle for those who don't need it.

I’m assuming that trillion and multi billion dollar companies like Apple, Samsung, and Google do a fair amount of market research. There’s a reason why phones got bigger and there aren’t 4” models available. If evidence and sales data showed that there’s a significant market for smaller devices, why wouldn’t they be making them?

So maybe you’re the one projecting your preferences on a “huge” number of costumers.

That was 8 iPhone. 5 iPhone would be an improvement.

The Touch ID on my iPhone SE that I’ve had since release died yesterday. Hopefully I have something to hold out for.

Sorry to hear that!

My preference is for the new SE (or whatever its name is) will have the second gen touchID, and do away with a physical home button. I haven't read of widespread failure of the home button on iPhone 7 and 8's, so I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly?) the solid home button has been more reliable compared to a physical home button?
