My 6s' battery is already pretty terrible and it's not worth replacing it now. These next 4,5 months will be a struggle.

Why do you "hope it does not have a headphone jack"? You do realise the iPhone 6 works with all of: headphone jack headphones; lightning jack headphones; bluetooth headphones? What is the advantage you hope to get from removing the headphone jack?
Better waterproofing.
Larger battery.

SE8, sigh.

Hopefully the 5.4" happens and is actually smaller.

I am one of the potential objectives as I have a 6. But for me an upgrade is to have something better than just a faster phone and cameras with the same enclosure than 5 years ago. I won’t upgrade unless my 6 dies. I will stay tuned about the 5,45” iPhone rumors which seems more promising.

I updated my daughters SE to iOS 13 the other day. How any adult would want that to be their main phone is beyond me. Now we'll transition from the tiny phone gang bemoaning no SE2 to bemoaning that SE2 is too big.

You guys are H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!!! 🤣🤣🤣

You're probably right about a shift in focus of moaning if there's an SE2 and it's not SE-sized LOL.

I'm a fan of the small size and sturdiness of the SE and bought another with more capacity as an Apple refurb after relegating my wonderful XR from status of "my phone" to status of "my narrow iPad mini" --

The XR seems a bit too darn big and heavy to use as a phone one grabs off top of microwave and heads out the door while wearing clothes lacking cargo pants type of pockets, and not carrying a purse. I do love that XR and its screen sharpness but as a phone, no... it felt sorta like how a 38-pound Compaq luggable felt like not actually a portable computer back in the dark ages of pre-laptop computing. XR is my go to for reading news and books and specialty content but not as a let's-go-shopping phone.

So I do use my SE all the time at home, generally in conjunction with a laptop and/or other mobile gear like an iPad, just not with most of the specialized apps I have on the iPads or the even on the XR.

The SE sits at the ready on the worktable or coffee table for phone calls, texting, authentications, notifications including from wire services and news apps, for interaction on Instacart shopping, for parcel deliveries etc. And I just use Instapaper or Handoff to a more suitable device after notifications that send me to long reads in news apps on the SE... it all works seamlessly for me.

How's your battery? Did you replace it? Mine is so bad the phones dies at 40% lol

Larger battery.
Jack does NOT prevent full waterproofing.
Sure, to add a larger battery you could remove a component... or you could make the whole phone 0.01" thicker. In reality, the battery size is a deliberate design decision, and removing the jack would have zero impact on that decision.
Anyway, at least you have an argument, duly noted. Each to their opinion and preference.
