It’s getting annoying with you guys who complain about SE not being the same size as the iPhone 5/5S size. So what. The SE to me was just a placeholder name. This SE2 too is just a placeholder name. I get it you want 4”. That’s long gone just like the headphone jack. Get over it.

I don’t need the cheap SE to be the small iPhone. If apple released a $1000 small iPhone tomorrow I’d buy it.

Personally I feel like it’s just the result of a COO being the CEO. Pinch those pennies Tim. Why make something new when you can reuse what already exists and save a few more $ for the bean counters.

You don’t know me and assume everything. “Already have a big phone” no Mr. I am on SE right now. “Get of SE thread” no. The reason I’m here is to find the option for upgrade just like you. I just happen to accept the fact that the iPhone 3G is dead, iPhone 4 is dead and the iPhone 5 is dead. I wish they redesign it to have the iPhone X-ish interface with face id and all. But that’s not gonna happen. They will reuse old parts just like when they reused iPhone 5S parts. This time the lowest end is the iPhone 8 so they will reuse that. There is no customer-serving mind. It’s pure optimization of business. They don’t give a thought about you just your dollars. And that’s why your SE is long gone.

I wish Kuo would stop using the SE 2 name.

Firstly, SE means Special Edition, not Small Edition. And that's exactly what this phone is going to be, a special edition.

Secondly, Apple cares most about sales. They compete with Android and the plan is to lure people to buy their first iPhone with this budget edition. Low price, high-end spec --- thanks to this model a lot of people will be very tempted to enter the Apple ecosystem and possibly stay there. In order to do that, they need to have a larger screen because the vast majority of people actually prefers 5inch screen and bigger. For some reason.

I was astonished that nobody compared the dimensions of iPhone SE and the iPhone 8..

Although beeing a fan of the iPhone 5 dimensions, the „SE2“ would just be 15 mm more in height and just 10 mm more in width, with the same depth, that seems not to be a 100% dealbreaker....
I will test the SE2 though in handling before buying. The most important dimension for most users might be the change in width... less the height... because this is the limiting factor for (in the proper sense of the word) „handling“....

Regarded my hand using the old SE.. at least for me, I could just accept the plus in height and width, but these dimension would be the very limit for a comfortable one-hand use, people with little hands are sort of automatically excluded by apple... Although not concerned, I find that sort of arrogance of apple against less taller people...

In fact I donˋt know if the dimensions will still be ok for my daily use or if I get even more angry about apple .... I will see in springtime.... owning 2 SE and 2 iPhone 5 ( the least as backups) I will not be under pression at all... AND: the SE still serves perfectly for my demands.... using IOS 12 even faster as before... and more than enough for daily use.
Better data security would be the first point for me to „upgrade“ from SE towards the so-called „SE 2“...

Think SE users well know the dimension difference between SE, and 6/6s/7/8/current SE2 rumor.

No need to wait til spring, or look at numbers... Handle and compare an 8 vs. your SE in a store now.
