The crease down the middle which shows up over time. When foldphones were first released and MR reported on it, immediatly a huge majority of MR members were in instant dislike to the noticable fold line that was present on the phone. It was noticable after test samples were given to a select few youtubers to try out in the realworld and whilst very faint, a crease fold was slightly noticeable and this immediatly put off MR members.

There is bound to be creases when you fold something often enough but for MR members, nope, not going to happen, has to be no creases what so ever, which implies as sense of 'i want perfection in an Apple product'.
Meh, you're comparing the most nit picky group on the web (myself included) with the average consumer, although putting myself in that category of being extremely nit picky, I have happily used my Fold 2 for the past year. The crease is very much overblown, those of us who use these as daily drivers know that. Still, I can't deny it is a negative and certainly I would not say no to not having a crease. But as a daily driver the crease rapidly disappears from view and the only time I really thought about it was the first day or 2 that I owned it.

I agree that Apple most likely considers this as an imperfection and would not release it with a crease, I just don't think consumers would care that much. But the technology is rapidly improving and I don't doubt that it will be resolved in the near future, or we will move to another method such as rollable screens or something not invented yet. My hope is that Apple isn't done inventing and comes up with something novel, although I don't see them releasing such a phone for at least 4-5 years.

TouchID is great, and I prefer it to FaceID?

But, I really just want at least one up tp date iPhone to keep the home button?

An updated SE with home button, A15 Bionic and updated cameras and 512GB-1TB storage is what I want?

I'm happy to pay what Apple's charging for last years iPhone 12 mini for an updated SE that has the features I actually ... want? Apple could push me to spend more than that, especially if the cameras were properly upgraded... (13Pro cameras PLEASE)

Now that Apple killed the 256GB SE, there really isn't a new/current smart phone on the market that I'd pay $20 for at this point? I'll probably grab an SE 256GB refurb by the end of the year?

And, yes. Git off my lawn!

The camera system of the iPhone 11 that probably does not cost much would suffice for most peoples needs. I like the telephoto lens hence I am stuck on the Pro line unfortunately.
Eh? What does this have to do with my post?

Most users including me would prefer the dual camera system to be wide and telephoto and forgo the ultra-wide. Apple knows this and hence it only includes it on the Pro line while then claiming that mini sales are lacklustre. I suspect the same nonsense on a dual camera system for a 2022 SE.

Oh ok. Yeah I expect it would have the same wide and ultra wide lenses, but who knows. I hope not. I agree, I find the telephoto much more useful than the ultra wide.

That’s because you have only seen Samsung do it. Wait untill Apple gets their hands on the idea and they perfect it.

Ehm… Wait samsung to do the same with the technology on that time. How does it compare with iphone then?

what would apple do with the technology on the time? nothing, because they dont innovate and they copy them from others who innovated it and the techonology had time to develope. Does that make apple better? no, they just dont do anything new by themselves, they just copy others when the technology is mature… If all companies worked like apple, we wouldnt have smartphones today as they are…

Unlucky…
I enjoy it as it works close to 100% on the first try for me.
It also works when my hands are wet, dirty, when I wear gloves (and in winter here, I cannot do without them!), in the dark too, when laughing I don't know but when smiling, sure, it works with or without glasses, including sunglasses, with a hood or cap…
The only really failing point for me was when wearing a mask… until the Apple Watch solved this problem.
So… As far as I'm concerned, I don't mind TouchID coming back as long as FaceID stays, as it is so much better for me.
You can keep FaceID, but I want TouchID. I wouldn’t ask one to go away to suit the placement of the other, but that’s exactly what Apple did when they took away TouchID.

Well, I cannot be sure, of course, but… maybe with a mask on (properly on), then there is not enough points available to securely identify a person. FaceID must be secure, if one in ten, or even one in a hundred people can unlock your phone with a mask, it's not good anymore. Remember that it is used also for ApplePay, and banks require a good enough authentication, which probably explains why early Android TouchID copies were not allowed to be used to authenticate payments.
I don't know, of course, but I can't imagine that Apple did not try hard to make FaceID work securely when the user wears a mask. It they chose to use the Apple Watch instead, I'm inclined to think that's because they concluded that FaceID could not be used securely with a mask.
All very reasonable assumptions. So they should've put TouchID back in iPhone 13!!

maybe... oh, look... the screen is twice as large!
I already can’t reach the whole screen with one hand. What did you guys get with the loss of the home button to make the top of the screen accessible to your thumbs? I’m still able to tap on my home button to stupidly drop the screen down after they made the phones too big.

Now that I’m used to two handed use, I discover that the touch screen hates speed typing, especially rapid typing from one thumb to the other like with T H at the start of new words.

I can’t imagine the weirdness of having to deal with a screen or physical phone changing shape on me while using it because it won’t stay in place due to some mechanism that doesn’t last more than a year of usage. Hell, my “Smart Keyboard” on my iPad Pro started wearing out in MONTHS...

I guess then you won’t buy one. Doesn’t mean that others might not want this solution. Surely you can see why they might?

I still maintain that FaceID was somewhat of a rush-job as a consequnce of not getting under-screen touchID working on the X. Not saying the tru-depth camera system was a rush, just using it for authentication

Yes, others will buy it. They can, sure. I just don’t like gimmicks, and a foldable screen will always be a gimmick, because it won’t be implemented in a way that isn’t flawed. Because it can’t be.
