Wow,this is great.I see the end of the Air as we know as well,an entry 12 Macbook will take its place. What i really wonder if there will be some little redesign such as one more usb c port and if ,as i wonder for the mac mini if the new cpus will bring the thunderbolt 3 too.
This way could be
Mac Book 12 ,2 usb c dual core
Mav Book. 13 2 usb c/thunderbolt 3 ?

But this leads me to the conclusion it would be too similar to the mac book 13 pro dual core with thunderbolt 3 so i don’t see this coming.
While i see quad core and thunderbolt 3 to be added perhaps as bto, what you think?

I'm very skeptical that there will be a new iPad Mini. What would they price it at? It seems doubtful they could sell it for less than the $329 iPad.
They’ll price it higher, like they currently do. And probably still have 128gb, to give it some added value.

Are you running iOS 12? Runs very well on a mini 4, albeit a A8/2GB platform. But a new mini would be very well received. I see them constantly in point-of-sale usage, and I know pilots and doctors find them indispensable. I figured Apple might wait until spring 2019 since iOS 12 breathed new life into the mini 4, but the sooner the better :)
Yes it is running iOS 12 and admittedly it is running a tad smoother than it did on 11. But it is definitely struggling with app switching due to lack of memory.

Updated iPad Mini? I hope so.

That's a day-one purchase for me. Been wanting one but not willing to spend the money on three year old specs.

serious question, wouldn't A10 be a little insulting? As in they would have to make special effort to handicap the thing?

Of course I would hope for more, but even A10 at a minimum would be enough to upgrade all of the Mini 2’s in my office.

A12 makes me really happy to throw them the money. A10 makes me grudgingly eventually do it. I would think/hope they would go at least A11 because the next refresh would take another number of years if they do it this time/next time at all.

Glad to see Apple hasn't given up on airpower yet. This thing has huge potential, especially when managing tons of wearable devices.

iPad mini

Kuo says that Apple will launch a new version of the iPad mini, which has not seen an update in several years. Kuo says the device will feature an upgraded processor and a lower-cost panel.
This is a pleasant surprise to me.
If Apple follows this course of action, I see no reason for the not to launch a new version of the iPhone SE, in the near future. They could even call it iPhone mini, for all I care, as long as it retains it's form factor - I don't want to carry a brick -, price tag and improved internals. I really don't care about a bigger screen (for that you buy an iPad) - although that could be achieved in X stile approach. An improved battery life and Wi-Fi reception would be appreciated.

It’s all smoke and mirrors till apple does it itself. I would not count on another mini considering how long the line has sat with out any refresh. There is no way any one guy could know anything. Unless they are apple.

Right? This site is supposed to provide rumours, not stuff that may or may not happen!

You’re missing the point. I appreciate this site provides rumours. My point is that everyone holds this person in such high esteem and on a pedestal, but all they actually do is say stuff we already know about, may happen, or it may not. That’s it. Then when something happens it’s Kuo does it again, and when it doesn’t happen it’s Kuo does it again. All they do over a period of months is scatter-gun things so they can’t fail to be right.

He can and does, to a certain degree. He gets his information like most analysts by looking at the supply chain, Apple may not be saying anything but find out enough about who is supplying/manufacturing what parts, what device they fit best and you build a strong picture.

First of all, you're missing the joke.

But since you're serious: you're just affirming what I said. Something other than what's certain is something other than a rumour – if it's certainty you want, then you want a leak, which is always reported here on the rare occasions it does happen.

Meanwhile, the arrival of a new iPad mini next week is not something rumour sites have been mentioning has been indicated this year, and it's the one thing Kuo says he believes will happen Tuesday. If he doesn't "fail to be right" about that, then he's better than what you're complaining about. If he does fail, then he hasn't been overly scatter-gun.

Agreed. An XE could have the exact same screen size as the iPhone 7/8 with an edge to edge display. Assuming Apple plans on making that 4.7” display a standard size, it makes far more sense to shrink the size of the phone around it.

The fact Apple stopped selling the current model SE at its flagship stores is easily explained by the fact the phone is still offered at authorized retailers, along with the 6S. Apple is either selling off inventory or clearing the shelves to launch the higher margin phones, while giving authorized retailers an entry level model to market. It also helps them gauge potential demand for a new SE, and build demand for the launch of the new XE at a higher price point. I would expect to see the iPhone 7 drop off Apple’s retail offerings when the new XE appears as well, and the 8 drop a notch. Meanwhile, Apple may very well still be making the SE for its entry level markets such as India, and will keep doing it for some time just like the iPhone 4s and 5c which continued in other countries well after they discontinued it in the developed markets.

New mini makes perfect sense to me.

My current mini 2 is roughly the same size as the screen of the larger iPad 9.7". If they really gonna cut the bezels in a new iPad Pro, it's pretty much a mini for me already.

Well I hope they release it in spring next year, alongside the usual iPad refresh. I really like my mini 4 with the very good screen improvements and spec bumps from the mini 2, but I would be also ready for a compromise in less desireable screen panels because the reason to upgrade is mostly the processor, which shows on resource-hungry apps and sometimes even in the interface.
Marketing-wise they should just call them both iPads, available in two sizes like the Pros, having identical specs apart from PPI and mAh.
Given the now standardized 1.5 year old processor handling on normal iPads, I‘d assume it will be A11 which will still be plenty useful over the next three years, at least.
