On the plus side, this suggests MacBook Pro is coming Q4 this year and we won’t have to wait long.

It also suggests a limited price increase for iPhone 14 Pro series.

Bummer that they still aren’t adding Face ID to the giant notch. Why make it so big then if they aren’t going to fill it with sensors? It really felt like they were holding this back for the second generation to give people a reason to upgrade again. I wonder if they will reduce it like they are doing in the iPhone 14 Pro.

Idk what they could change...I have the 14" and it's the perfect computer. Although I wouldn't mind better colors...

Well this makes sense. The crush of orders was with the new design last fall. Many people waited for Apple silicon + a new more practical design. The second edition of the Apple silicon MacBook Pro will probably come next month, along with the Mac mini, and possibly the Mac Pro. Apple wants to keep the momentum going. The spring will be for the Mac Studio update to M2 Max/Ultra & 15" MacBook Air/Studio

I bought it im march and I plan use it for 5-7 years.
Yeah, I bought an M1 Pro (16" screen lets me work on my couch!) that I hope to get many years out of... consider I had a non-retina Air that lasted me from like 2012-2020 I think I should be ok.

(And the only reason I buy new iPhones is camera camera camera...)

Yeah, skip this one unless you absolutely need a new Mac soon.

M3 will be a bigger upgrade on the 3nm TSMC process, and there have been rumors of OLED and Face ID.

Right now I'm thinking 14", M3 Max, middle GPU option, 64GB RAM, and 4TB SSD should work for me from 2023-2030.

Maybe more RAM if they have an in-between option? RAM is so hard to tell. I feel like it will be fine for ages at a certain level and then suddenly you need twice as much. I upgraded my 5K iMac to 64GB and I rarely use more than 2/3 of it in my iStat widget. The 32GB on my 2019 MBP has been completely fine. Maybe if they offer a weird in between option, like 64, 96, 128 I would go for 96 just to future proof it more. I'm just really not looking forward to spending a ton on this thing since they've gotten to be so expensive. But nowadays SSDs are so fast that swap is really fast, so is it even worth it?

perhaps just keep my M2 Air, although its baseline seems just fine!

I will wait till the next MacBook that has UNLIMITED new features.

You could say, the next MacBook with…

I just purchased the base model 14" MBP from Best Buy at $400 off the regular price. This is my first Mac and seemed like a good value. I was considering waiting for the M2 version but I'm sure it will be more expensive when it's released vs. the M1 Versions.

My M1 Air still feels mighty Pro to me. Still can't believe how it crushes my 2018 MacBook Pro. Probably no upgrade for four more years (I still have a 2012 Air and 1999 1040c that run!).

I got the 16" M1 Pro with 16Gb and 1Tb in May and plan to keep it until the next major redesign (probably 4 years or so). I previously had a 2017 15" MBP bought in 2018 that I also kept for 4 years. The new one runs circles around the old one.

It's cute when Apple doesn't believe in its products. The new MacBook Pros will likely get the new color variants, and would say that's enough for the average to hardcore apple fans to upgrade. Will think sales should be fine on the M2s.
