Immolation?Windows Intel immulation.
This is a great question. If indeed the initial M2's are still using 5nm technology my guess is they'll just run hotter and louder than current M1's. Given that, I may wait until 3nm M2's become available. The M1 Pro/Max are amazing I truly wonder if they run hotter with the small gains they bring. If so, is it worth it to wait for the M2 Pro/Max.
CPU's don't run "loud". The fan might kick on, but since no version of M1 or the M2 runs hot enough in day-to-day use to stress any fan system, nothing currently being released runs "loud". They will put an M2 Pro into a Pro laptop and it will rarely turn on the fan. So it will be near silent in normal use. If you run an absolutely crushing process (like export 100GBs of pictures at once) and multi-task during that process (like stream a video to entertain yourself while you wait), you will get the very quiet fans to kick on. But waiting on something because of heat and fan noise at this point does not really make sense. This is a great question. there are several components under that notch. A camera, a light sensor, and a True Tone sensor as well as a couple of mounting brackets. Also, the Face ID components (there are at least two in that) are about twice as thick as the MacBook Pro's lid.Bummer that they still aren’t adding Face ID to the giant notch. Why make it so big then if they aren’t going to fill it with sensors? It really felt like they were holding this back for the second generation to give people a reason to upgrade again. I wonder if they will reduce it like they are doing in the iPhone 14 Pro.
Just because car manufacturers bring out new updates each year doesn't mean that they or their users expect to upgrade every year. Most people will hold on to it for a few or several years and then upgrade. In the meantime, incremental changes will add up to a significant update. Also other customers on older equipment will decide it is time to upgrade and get the new model this year.Apple really thinks people will buy a new laptop every other year?
Oct 2023. Annual incremental upgrades. If buying now, the trade-in value may drop a lot next month. If wait for the M2 Pro/M2 Max MacBook Pro 16" 2022, they may be noisy. Also, they may not be available immediately. It is hard to decide.
If they release 5nm M2 Pro/M2 Max MacBook Pro 16" in October 2022, will they release the 3nm version earlier 2023 or October 2023?
Good point, I hate auto spell correction. But then again, you knew what I meant.Immolation?
Those intels get so hot, I think they’ve got that covered.
Put those extra M2 Pros in Mac minis please.

It is possible that we could see M2 Pros in the lower end Minis since the Studios start with the M1 Max chip. If I was the managing Apple product manager I would be focused on clearly differentiating the Mini as the low end of headless Mac products. That would mean fully dropping the old Intel configuration and only having the current M1 configuration, upgraded to M2 and M2 Pro chips; no Max chips in Mini, ever.Put those extra M2 Pros in Mac minis please.
how is it unclear? of course its not releasing this year why would it? if the demand is low , no big upgrades , no 3nm chip and the new one is still good for while longer there is no need for another macbook pro right now
Apple's next-generation 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will feature new chips, but few other changes, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

In a post on Medium today, Kuo said Apple has lowered its fourth quarter shipment forecast for the new MacBook Pro models by 20% to 30% before mass production of the notebooks begins due to lower than expected demand. Kuo said signs of a recession and fewer people working from home are two reasons for Apple's reduction in orders, while "limited new selling points" for the new MacBook Pro models may also impact demand.
"The main upgrade of the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros is only the adoption of new processors," wrote Kuo, in the Medium post. "The limited new selling points may also result in lower-than-expected demand."
It's unsurprising that few changes are planned for the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models given the notebooks launched with a significant redesign in October 2021 that included a notch at the top of the display, the return of ports like MagSafe and HDMI, and more. MacBooks often go multiple generations between major hardware changes.
The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are expected to be equipped with Apple's M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, which Kuo believes will remain 5nm. Apple is expected to hold an event in October focused on new iPad and Mac models, but it's unclear if the new MacBook Pro models will be announced at that event or at some point next year.

We totally disagree. In tech one must keep advancing, or die. M2 chips are on the street in lower end laptops, and have proven to be a solid evolution from M1.how is it unclear? of course its not releasing this year why would it? if the demand is low , no big upgrades , no 3nm chip and the new one is still good for while longer there is no need for another macbook pro right now
Just release it in midnight blue and it will be selling like hot cakes.
Yeah a true matte black. No hint of a sheen. I'm sure that would be even more of a fingerprint magnet but who knows.
The MacBooks Pro are already goated. What major changes should there be?
It's cute when Apple doesn't believe in its products. The new MacBook Pros likely get the new color variants, and would say that's enough for the average to hardcore apple fans to upgrade. Will think sales should be fine on the M2s.
How bright is that Dell? What do you mean. They need to upgrade the DISPLAY to OLED the Dell XPS OLED on the 15" beats the 120 hertz mini led on the Macbook pro. It is a NIGHT and DAY difference with Dell being alot more crisp and deeper blacks than the Macbook pro screen.
The Dell XPS OLED is 500 nits. More than enough for the average user. How bright is that Dell?
