Apple now testing possible changes by arbitrary analysts proposal permutations?

Man, what disapointment. I really didn‘t want a yellow stylus.

I’m happy with the fact that, other than physical size (and battery, by extension), there seems to be no differentiating features between the 5.8” and 6.5” OLED phones.

I like the smaller size factor, but I also like the superior camera and OIS that Plus models typically offer, so having that in the smaller phone might get me to upgrade from my 8+ this year.

I'm liking that 5.8" OLED model but 6.5" probably has better battery life (22% more battery)
Plus models have always had better battery life due to the bigger batteries, but the battery life doesn’t directly correlate to battery size because of the larger and higher-resolution display they have to power.

Personally I’d love pencil support on a larger 6.4 inch phone. It doesn’t need to be core to experience in order to be useful.
The question becomes, how much will the sensors add the cost of the display. If it can be done without a significant increase, I feel Apple should add it.

I sure hope Kuo is wrong on the Resolutions !

Makes much more sense for AAPL to standardize ALL three on the 2436 x 1125 resolution of the existing 1st-Gen iPhone X, & vary the PPI, just as TV manufacturers do (e.g., selling 4K TVs of varying sizes) !

If Kuo is correct, then the 6.1" LCD model is modeled after the existing iPhone 8 ... 324 PPI vs 326 PPI for the existing iPhone 8 ... & will use a 2x points-to-pixels factor when designing the UI.

If AAPL went that route, I consider that to be a VERY BAD decision by Tim Cook & Co !

The reason they would not include a smaller pencil and iPhone support, would be scheduling for their tentitive road map. Just wasn't a good fit this year probably. We will see it eventually, no reason not to.

"Because it has a bad user experience?" Righty-o

Then again, we still might see a smaller pencil earlier; get the ball rolling, so to speak.

Sure the cheaper one is delayed due to production and has nothing to do with cashing on on impatient people who will buy the more expensive models that are shipping sooner.
If people are that impatient they’ll spend $200-$300 more just to have something right away that’s their fault not Apple’s.

I think it's about time we stop calling this Ming-Chi Kuo dude a "respected analyst"? He's not analyzing his way into all of these details or anything else. Let's just call it out the way it is...

Kuo, well respected Apple Spy: No Apple Pencil Support for 2018 iPhones, Upcoming 6.1-Inch Model to Be Slightly Delayed

The 2x2 MIMO on the 6.1" is disappointing. That would make it have similar cellular performance as iPhone X. Yuck.

I'm sure but why would you want Apple Pencil support on an iPhone? Very few people would be using the Apple Pencil with their iPhone. It makes sense on an iPad, not iPhone.

Because Apple's lost their focus and is trying to make one thing do too many things.

Remove the headphone jack and a physical button which were awfully useful for a handheld mobile device. Add pen support to a small handheld device... This is kinda sad and funny at once.

why would anyone want to write with the full size giant Apple pencil on a phone?
that's just dumb and I knew Apple won't do that.it's only simple minded people's imagination.
now If they make a small size stylus (similar to Samsung's S-Pen) that would be a different story.

Mathematically, the internal volume (battery capacity) always grows faster than the display area.

If adding pencil support adds to iPhone manufacturing cost then it is certainly not worth it. Maybe it could work if the gigantic 6.5” iPhone was designed as a “me too copy” with the Samsung Note stylus inclusion in mind. But really that is only true because at that size, it is basically an iPad.

Totally agree. Not Apple's "fault" at all, it's brilliant that they can cash in on it. I'm just saying it's a heck of a coincidence.
