pacific Blue is still my favorite iphone color by far and even I think it's ridiculous that there's no vibrant option this year!
Dark grey, light grey, white and greyish blue. What were they thinking?!
The titanium frame probably didn’t allow them to get a nice, vibrant color in time. That crimson color that was being rumored was probably going to be the color but I’m willing to bet through testing they couldn’t get the frame at the color they wanted.

The stainless steel is outdated and old now. Furthermore, say good bye to the fingerprints! Also, it’s lighter too. You are going to love the titanium more.
Can’t wait to hear this argument the exact opposite way four years from now when they inevitably return to stainless steel.
We’ve gone from:
Aluminum and plastic
All plastic
Glass and stainless steel
Glass and Aluminum
Aluminum and plastic
Glass and stainless steel+glass and aluminum
Glass and titanium

I have no doubt they’ll eventually go back

Lighter is better, they needed to start going in that direction, the phones are getting too heavy.

I agree. My iPhone 14 Pro is very heavy. I'm torn, however, on the weight issue. I would be happy to have a thicker and heavier phone if the battery life was improved. The iPhone 14 Pro, however, is heavier yet has WORSE battery life!

If only Apple materials scientists could find/create some sort of plastic that looked premium enough to pass Apple's test for looking good on the back of an iPhone then using that instead of the glass back would make a big difference to the weight. When Apple moved from a glass back on the iPhone 4 to an aluminium back (I think) on the iPhone 5 the difference in weight amazed me in terms of how it felt in the hand when I, an iPhone 4 owner at the time, went into an Apple store to look at the then-newly-released iPhone 5.

Of course with wireless charging now, switching to a metal back is no longer an option but something other than glass would be great in terms of weight reduction - and very possibly in terms of durability as well.

Same here. My 14 Pro Max is heavy but its still within the limit of the weight I'm personally willing to tolerate in order to put in the biggest battery they can. I still welcome anything Apple can do to reduce weight though e.g. titanium chassis and as I mentioned in my post a few minutes ago a dream of getting away from a glass back but there I have a different agenda to the people wanting an overall weight reduction. I would want at least some of any weight saving on the chassis and other bits of the phone to be put back into increasing the size (hence also the weight) of the battery.

If Apple went the other way though and just piled on extra weight to get bigger batteries without offsetting it with weight savings elsewhere then I would definitely understand the inevitable howls of protest from the folks who already find the bigger iPhones too heavy. Who knows, maybe the extra weight would even tip me over the edge into the "this thing is just too heavy" camp.

Extra thickness though is another thing. The camera bump and protruding lenses jut so far out from the back of the phone that even if you use a case (I don't) means that the back of the case is a good 4mm thick to flatten out the back which for slim leather cases (for instance) is way thicker than it needs to be just for durability and protection. What wallets use 4mm leather for instance? Ignoring any consequential weight gain I don't see a 2mm increase in the main body thickness making a real difference to either caseless users like me since it is the camera bump and lens projection that for me govern the overall thickness of the device and for users with cases it just means the case manufacturers drop the thickness of the back cover by about 2mm to still bring the back of the leather flush with the face of the lenses.

It’s time for a change. The titanium on the Apple Watch Ultra feels amazing. The stainless steel is outdated and old now. Furthermore, say good bye to the fingerprints! Also, it’s lighter too. You are going to love the titanium more.
Indeed. Titanium feels better in hands. Now I could relive the old days of my Nokia 8910i with this "Oh. So. Pro." iPhone 15 Pro. Gray for me, as I'd like to be reminded that life isn't always black and white. ;)

Magically got resolved last min… Kuo is a joke kept harping in the production issue on a different site 58 mins ago..
Just more evidence that they’ve been locked out of the “current” supply chain for some time now. :) While I’m sure they’re communicating with supply chain members, they’re folks that have been away from the actual supply chain for several months, at least. However, reporting “some unknown number of months ago, they had production issues, but, before I even knew they were having issues, they resolved them” doesn’t get the clicks!

Well, since no one else has said it yet in this thread, let me first apologize, and then say the obligatory…

I can’t frickin’ wait to get my hands on a new 15 Pro! I currently have the 12 Pro, and while it’s great, it’s starting to feel a little old to me. Lightning ports are going the way of the dodo bird, and that couldn’t make me happier. Time to finally consolidate (and purge) cords and dongles!!

While this is just me, if I was spending well over $1000 for a mobile phone, a shock-proof case would be a requirement too. And since those cases can come in pretty much any color, it's hard to grasp the hangups about the "naked" color choices... except for those willing to take the risk of naked phone meeting pavement at some point for that exclusive & unique shattered glass pattern personalization (art?).

I choose to NOT even spend $800 for a phone, instead using cellular iPad Mini 6 to also cover phone and texting needs (Voip app with buds)... but even it is wrapped in a shockproof case, netting me a mocha brown iPad Mini 6 (which is not a color option from Apple). What color is it naked? I don't even recall for sure. It could be the most-coveted pee green model with pink polkadots and orange stripes. ;) The case color is the one remembered.

But again, that's just me. I know there are people who will put >$1000 purchase at great risk in a single fall scenario. It's only money. A few unfortunate slips and one could "collect them all" over the next year! 🎉
iPhone 13 Pro in Silver here. Have never had a case or screen protector. These Pro phones are beautiful. I prefer not to cover them up. What is the point of the high-end beautiful external materials to then cover it up? I purchase AC+ and would even if I had a case.

To those people that mention about how heavy they feel their iPhone is, does weight matter in the real world?

I mean, when out and about I put my 14PM in my front pocket of water jeans/shorts I’m wearing.

In my car, it sits on a MagSafe mount, so I don’t genuinely don't get why people mention it’s weight.

Presumably, when people are working at home/at a desk, the phone is on the desk or a desk mount too?

I just don’t get it. 🤷‍♂

That's very subjective.

I would always prefer large battery and higher height than smaller battery and more compact phone. I'm not talking about going brick-size, but I would not want smaller battery than the current one is.

I would even say iPhone is made with case on mind. Without case the camera bump prevents iPhone from lying flat on the table. With case though, its bottom is nicely flat.

All my recent phones get a case -- with all the glass backs and such, they're much too slippery without it. I wish I could use them like you do, but dropping the phone in the middle of a call or just getting it out of my pocket are just too much.

I'd prefer we went back to plastic rather than glass for the back. Much lighter, shatter proof, and hopefully more colorful.

you must not wear basketball shorts often - if you go for a walk or run errands, it just drags shorts down no matter how tightly you tie them. I even find this with board shorts.

also when using the phone while in bed laying down - it can feel very heavy as you hold it one handed looking at something.

Every year it's the same, and it's fine, but it feels off that we focus so much on what colours we're going to get the next iPhones in instead of new features to look forward to - that is, when there are new features worth talking about (a USB-C port that replaces Lightning definitely isn't one of them).

My Pixel 7a is plastic but I keep forgetting it's not glass since it looks and feels the same texture wise. It is light. I do think it would still shatter on impact though and it is definitely more vulnerable than flaws to scratches. So it's got a Pixel color matched case on it a lot of the time.

What I used to hate about aluminum backs is that some cases would have a chemical interaction with the aluminum and leave a stain. I had this happen with some TPU cases. They could also be prone to scratches that current iterations of iPhone glass backs shrug off.

My family members have incurred some ugly drops with iPhones in cases and avoided shattering front or back glass so far. So I'm not as inclined as I once was to give up on glass just yet.
