I’m hoping a Pro or upper tier Mac mini gets released at the same time, maybe a full pro event MacBook, Macmini and iMac Pro perhaps.

I should’ve got the Macmini when it first but now I’m too scared to!

I‘m looking at that upper tier Mac mini too. Sadly I don’t think this will happen until spring next year at the earliest. There are too many pressing products to get through first.
From the larger iMac, to MacBook Pros and the Mac Pro, they all need to be addressed this year.

How many times we’re going to hear that?

So expected to release late November? Like every year??? 🙄🙄

Eitherway we’re going to see a new MacBook Pro This year.
You will hear about it until it is released and then you will hear about it continuously until Apple labels them vintage. When that happens, you will hear about them again. To sum up, you will hear about them until you go mad and start claiming Bill Gates is your daddy.

I was thinking about this earlier and its a really weird situation to be in, but Apple are unique. Their product lineup is sitting there with no 15" laptop available to buy with the strategic chipset in it.

I caved in and bought an M1 MBA. I figured out that it is easy to resell since it is relatively cheap.

Same here, and have had mine since December. Since I like it so much, and not being able to find a single flaw with it, I'll likely pass on a MBP later this year.

I swear, when this rev gets released people are gonna be disappointed. It’s almost like it’s the second coming of Christ. It can’t be that different from its predecessors. Retina, Unibody all look the same except for years of continued refinement. Apples mistake is, they should have at least released an entry level 15 inch model of the M1 MacBook Pro but keep it below 1,800 and include 16 GBs by default.
You say that. Then you look at the iMac and say “WTF!”

I was a defender of the iMac design based on photos and the presentation. Then I saw it in person… WTF!?

He’s an Analyst. Not a leaker.

I’m sure he owns plenty of Apple stocks. Apple is feeding him with this information so people don’t get too excited for windows 11 or buy chrome books for back to school event.

Come on. If you are considering a Chrome Book, you aren't in the market for MacBook Pro. A top of the line Chrome Book is $600 and you can buy one that works fine for $400. The M2 MacBook Pro is going to run you $1,600 or so and probably get into $2,000 by the time you put in some upgrades.

I've narrowed down my options to the 16-inch M1X Macbook Pro or the new 16-inch Thinkpad X1 Extreme from Lenovo. Maybe I'll get both.😊

They say that these two systems are still on track. Really? They were never on track in the first place. I’ll believe it when Tim Cook says to believe it. You leakers can take a flying Leap. Will they come out? Maybe.

Day one adopter here - can’t wait!! Still ‘rocking’ a maxed out 2012 retina MacBook Pro 15. It’s only just showing its age, ten years of service, not too shabby :)

Rehashing old news. I guess there is not much to report so let's repeat old news...:(

Welcome to MacRumors, where the only two guarantees are hype and disappointment.

Still on track?? hmm 😒 strange since Kuo & Co were all saying they'd be out in the 3rd quarter not merely going into production. Since that prediction DERAILED in June, I don't think "still on track" is the right phrase.

Q3 has been the prediction all year.

Such response will only happen for folks who visit macrumors or folks involved in covering Apple non stop , they are waiting for those machines and are getting the “it’s next month release” syndrome for the last 4 months or so , the normal population has no idea about release dates , when Apple announces them , assuming they will be great machines , they will get much love and sell really well.
Haha, this is a very self-aware comment. This roller-coaster, like the many of us who've been waiting for the 14/16" MBP launches pre-WWDC, has only been experienced by the minority of ppl, namely us.

I admittedly got caught up in the excitement, but after WWDC announcement didn't happen, decided it was better for me and my mental health 😂 to just not expect it anymore, and have a "when it comes, it comes" mentality.

That being said, when it drops, I'm a Day 1 purchaser of a 16" MBP!

Can't be that different? Not enduring uncomfortable heat on my chest or lap, no loud fans going when I'm trying to take a nap, not needing to live in dongle hell when traveling with my portable, not fumbling for the volume button because the Touch Bar is on another screen... Every other tech improvement aside, the quality of life situation improves tremendously for those of us ready to make the jump to the Apple silicon Macs.

Probably, but if you happen to have an early 16GbRetina MBP that can’t officially run Big Sur (except in a VM) the Mac Silicon choices so far haven’t been compelling. And no, I don’t know the 1 other person in the same situation as me. Actually looking forward to repurposing my existing MBP, a fantastic piece of kit from 2012 (?)

Let's hope it's true that they're going to get rid of the POS emoji bar. What an embarrassment... second only to the disgracefully defective keyboards that Apple insulted customers with for five years.

Here is my prediction: The event will take place in Nov, exactly 1 year since the transition began. Apple will schedule it in November for 2 reasons:
  • ensure that there is a reasonable supply at launch and boast the sales of the M1X/M2 Macbook Pro after the holiday quarter has finished.
  • Proclaim how successful and influential the Apple Silicon transition has been, in less than a year, just like Steve Jobs did when Apple transitioned from PowerPC > Intel, all those years ago. Apple will also try to weave a myth saying how "some other competitors" tried to do the same and failed, hinting at Microsoft's & Qualcomm's inadequate attempt at creating WOA (Windows on ARM), while at Apple, not only were we successful, but we "changed the industry/landscape, etc."
Apple can still schedule the event in Oct, but I think there is a historical significance if the event is held in November. In addition, if Apple is planning a grand spectacle for the redesigned MacBook Pro, which includes a live audience for the 1st time since the pandemic if the event is held in Nov, it gives people more time to book flights and make plans to attend the event live and in person. If the event is held in Oct, it just gives people less time to plan and book flights (September event = iPhone, and Oct event = redesigned MBPs...)
