It’s a rumor. We won’t know till later today. Don’t believe everything you read in the internet
It’s pretty funny that people are upset about a rumour of Apple not delivering on a rumour. Not once have they said they plan on having bilateral wireless charging.

Ok, wait a second, so Pro-Motion is indeed coming today? What else would the 120 stand for?

Anyone here able to decipher the chinese/korean letters?
No, 120 is an angle of the new wide angle camera. And that chart is probably outdated, but still interesting.

Try as I might, I just can’t think of a time when I’d be more interested in my air pods battery being charged than my phone. Now being able to use my phone as a Qi charger while plugged in would be useful. Then I could charge two devices with one usb cord while at a hotel. Even that is not a huge deal, and would more benefit an Apple Watch with its unique cable.

I'll disagree with you on that point. For something I use 3-5 hours a day every day for 3 years, I want it to be the highest quality possible. $1k + seems completely reasonable to me.

Haha true.

I'm actually leaning more towards your side. I kept my iPhone 6S Plus for almost 4 years now... so I'm thinking about going all-out on the iPhone 11 Pro Max and keep it for the same amount of time.

As I mentioned in another thread... the value of a phone goes up the longer you keep it. And it is the one device you use all the time.

Since I'm fine with keeping the same phone for a while... I don't think the initial cost should matter too much.

I'll use the payment plan from my carrier anyway... so the difference between the starting iPhone 11 and starting 11 Pro Max is only $15/month.

That's certain doable! :)

Dont think people are upset about a rumor not being true, think most people are upset with the state of Apple and lack of innovation, while they are being out-innovated by their competitors.

This is what happened with the Mac in the 90s, and Apple is repeating the cycle with the iPhone now. Tim his going the safe route instead of leading the industry like Apple always has.

The chart says that the 11 pro and pro max will support bilateral charging and Apple Pencil. The 11 has the colors.
Not sure about its veracity. Supposedly it's from a Taiwanese pre-release briefing sort of thing.

Bilateral charging is an innovative way to lower the battery’s life expectancy. Hiding front facing components under the screen would be a better step forward.

It's so funny to read all these comments. All I will say is that the only thing I can't handle is another price increase.

So maybe Apple really have just written off 2019 entirely so they can double down on 2020; Qualcomm modems, reverse wireless charging, USB-C, new design, etc.

We'll know in a few hours, but right now that looks like a very reasonable interpretation. It would leave the only two improvements as better indoor location services and wider angle FaceID camera. *yawn*

Why bother releasing a new phone if there's nothing new in it?
Yet another 12MP shooter isn't exactly groundbreaking if the competition is on large sensor quad-bayer 64MP->16MP effective ones. I'm sorry.

Sorry. More pixels do not equal better and who said there wasn’t anything new in the iphone 11? Or YMMV on what is new and not new vs another?

Hint:
More megapixels do not have anything to do with better pictures.

Why Apple keeps bothering? Since there are millions still buying almost the same phones year over year.

Weak list:
6 and 6s (both had lots of issues)
8 (just an iPhone 7 more or less)

"OK" list:
Xs

Great list:
5s
7
X

11, probably on OK upgrade, just like the Xs.
My 6s had no issues other than a battery replacement. What issues did the 6s have?

For me the Xs is in the great list with the max probably being the all-time great upgrade.

Lots of battery related issues (like your's), also some had Samsung SoCs, some TSMC SoCs, runtime issues, cold bug, etc.

I switched from two 6s (both had hw issues) to a 7 and newer looked back.

Apple will have my money tomorrow if there's something worthwhile to purchase at a good price.

lol seriously? This is Apple we're talking about.

I maintain my point. Most people complaining are the ones who can't and won't be upgrading anyways. When they do upgrade, they will say anything to justify that upgrade and at the same time, those who aren't upgrading will complain.

That slide claims AirPower's launch date is "TBD."

Debunked.

Huawei and Samsung already offer reverse wireless charging. Mate 20 Pro came out a year ago.

Where's Apple's 50x camera zoom? ToF sensor? In-display fingerprint? These are all current technologies available today on the above mentioned brands.
50x zoom is actually real crappy digital zoom. You get 5x optical zoom with up to 10x hybrid zoom. Who needs that much zoom? A creep who wants to spy on someone?? Typical huawei shadiness along with the rest of their practices. This is why they are blacklisted in many countries.

Reverse wireless charging is a gimmick that I guarantee that only about 1% of people use.

In display fingerprint reader? How about much more advanced and secure 3D facial scanning. Whether it’s a sensor or in display, it’s still JUST a fingerprint scanner.

See most people never understand Apple. They don’t throw features at phones just to say they include it, nor to try to keep up with the “competition”. They only implement tech that will be beneficial to the end user.

Me, as well. I often wonder whether a flagship iPhone will ever drop below 1 large again? I think a flagship in the 750 range would be an attractive price point.
So huge bezels on the top and bottom of the 6s are more attractive than a notch design? Maybe. You get much more screen real estate on a XR, XS or 11. And the new 11 is $699, not 750.

More megapixels doesn’t mean better quality. The competition can’t match what Apple can do with their HDR video, now up to 4K 60. And Smart HDR is a game changer. This is why even the XS still can beat newer 2019 flagships when it comes to dynamic range and detail, and wide color gamut.

Well, I know what you are saying about focal length, but actually this business of converting to the context of 35mm film is a bit old school and maybe a bit out-dated too.

I remember looking at some of those "micro four third" cameras or whatever they were calling them, and all the focal length business got to be baloney. The term "normal" lens usually meant a 50mm lens on a 35mm SLR camera, but even on my digital rebel, it's not true I don't think :) and I stopped caring long ago.

And yet apple’s new camera interface lists the 35mm-equivalent focal lengths.

As for your second paragraph, that’s why people report the 35mm equivalent, by multiplying by 1.3 or 1.7 depending on sensor size. Photographers intuitively understand this.

Yep - you are right.
