How does the Kuycon G32P compare to the Apple Studio Display?
I don't expect any nasty surprises between the Kuycon and the Apple Studio Display. The Apple is not a miracle monitor either. I have a 10 year old DELL UP2715k (5120x2880 27", 10 years old) and two Apple Studio Displays (2 and 3 years old) and the picture from the DELL is almost as good as that from both Apple! So the Kuycon should be no great exception, as long as it also has the much better glossy coating!

Alibaba wants to charge $714 import duties on top of the monitor price (to USA)
That's a shame about the import duties. I found the service through Alibaba, dealing directly with the manufacturer superb. For me, shipping to the UK, the total cost including tax was the same as the cost quoted by ClickClack. The only difference was the speed of shipping which was only 3 days through Alibaba. But ClickClack seem reliable and I'm sure you won't regret the purchase.

Can you tell me which cables are included with the monitor? I could probably only connect the monitor from my Windows PC (RTX 4090) via HDMI 2.1, because DisplayPort 1.4a probably has too little bandwidth for the resolution, right?

This is what's included...

Apologies for the crude diagram. For those who have the monitor. Does the circled bracket angle up and down? For me, the whole monitor slides up and down the main shaft. The monitor can be angled easily. But the circled bracket doesn't angle itself up and down to fine-tune the height in the same way that I think the Pro Display XDR does. It may be that the bracket needs loosening slightly? Just don't want to force it or break anything by meddling!

A review of the Kuycon G27P so not really relevant here but the reviewer mentions a "backlight brightness evenness" (Screen Uniformity) problem, so maybe could exist on the 32” 6k version.

Also read the comments where one person returns the Kuycon 32” 6K.

Edit: The video sound is not very good

MAJOR UPDATE.

This has just happened. The monitor has a green vertical line that appeared as I adjusted the angle of the screen. It is still present after turning on/off connecting/disconnecting although it is now slightly less noticeable than in the pictures.

I contacted Kuycon via the Alibaba messaging app and sent pictures and they have responded immediately with the following:

"We are already aware of this situation, and we will resend the new one tomorrow or the day after. We will provide you with a tracking number at that time.

As for the faulty one you have, wait until the new one arrives, then see if there's a suitable courier arrangement to return it.

I will prioritize arranging the monitor for you and resolving your issue first I will only send the monitor (not including the cable).

If a problem occurs, we will prioritize resolving the customer's situation Our service will definitely be excellent.

We don't want to cause any issues; this will result in significant losses for us/:>O<

I'm not sure if it's okay for the federal government to send it back to China.

After receiving it, let's see if there's a suitable courier service.

You go ahead and use it first"

So, Kuycon have been extremely responsive so far and look like they are dealing with the situation, but still a massive pain. This is the first day of using the monitor fully with my new Mac Studio (arrived yesterday). All was good until it wasn't!

The line is now much less visible but flashes brighter every time I adjust the angle.

I'll keep everyone updated.

That's bad luck but good to hear they're being responsive and trying to sort it out. Even sending a replacement out before getting that one back is good.

The line is now barely visible. In fact I have trouble finding it again once I've taken my eye of it. But I'm terrified of adjusting the screen in case it comes back at full strength. replacement is the way to go.

If physically moving the screen makes it happen then the most likely cause is a tiny fracture of one or more (red/blue) signal lines in the full screen width ribbon cable that connects the screen panel PCB to the actual screen pixel matrix.
This is an unrepairable fault. ☹️

This ribbon cable is very vulnerable to damage from a sharp cutting tool if screen adhesive has to be sliced to be remove the panel from the case.

Mine seems to be the same. I can't tell if it was designed that way or just stiff, but like you I didn't want to force it. It would be hard to have that hold the full weight of the screen (I think Apple's has "gas struts") so it may just be for looks.

The Chinese English always cracks me up. Sounds like great support though, especially sending you the new one first. I guess there are no refunds on tariffs when things are returned (?). A little obnoxious saying it will result in "significant losses for us" -- not your fault. I do like how straightforward they are though...

They are in the UK, I believe, so the US tariffs should not be in play. Could be an oblique reference to an issue on the Chinese side — there is probably a lot of confusion right now, collateral damage.

Let's see how it plays out. I feel fairly relaxed at present as they've been very responsive. Not sure if I'll be charged import duties when the replacement arrives here in the UK?

The line is actually virtually invisible now. In fact as I type this I can't see it. However I don't want to move the screen in case it comes back. Obviously not ideal in the long term so I'll keep using until the replacement arrives.

I am also familiar with such a vertical line on my old DELL UP2715K (5120x2880) monitor. Maybe once in 100 days I have such a phenomenon that I have a static vertical line on the screen, but my explanation for this was that it was a mismatch between graphics card and display, because when I restarted the computer (Windows PC), the vertical line was gone again.

Based on your error description and Kuycon's answer, it looks more like the display is the root cause.

As soon as the replacement monitor arrives, I would test the first monitor again (i.e. exactly what you did, only perhaps a few more times in succession (height adjustment/angle adjustment) to see whether you can reproduce the problem relatively easily in this way... because that would not be a good sign).

In any case, I'll keep my fingers crossed that either the problem disappears for good or, as promised by Kuycon, that your replacement device arrives fault-free!

Thank you for keeping us up to date here :)

🤞 -- makes me think of the "don't drop it" advice they provided to someone earlier... The hazards of global shipping...

For the owners, are you able measure the power usage under your normal use case? With something like a smart plug or a killawatt device. Thanks!

I just ordered mine. Feels like one of the bigger gambles I've taken in a while :) FYI Kuycon confirmed that clickclack is the authorized dealer in the US. I tried ordering it directly from Kuycon via alibaba but alibaba tries to add an almost 50% import charge (yay tariffs) and they suggested I check with clickclack. Clickclack have been responsive with my pre-sales questions so hoping dealing with them is smooth in the event something goes wrong.

I'll update here when it ships, shipping times, and of course the review of the monitor.

Welcome to the party!

I've been using the Kuycon as my daily driver for three weeks now and still very happy with it. Haven't run into any problems and still like the display quality.

Really interested in buying one.

What site are you guys buying them off on?

Clickclack.io or Kuycon.us

ClickClack — they are the only authorized reseller for the US and Europe. You can also buy directly from Kuycon via Alibaba, but if you are in the US you will have to pay almost 50% more for tariffs. See the links in the list of 32" 6K displays WikiPost.

Kuycon.us (US) and Kuycon.co (Europe) are related to Kuycon.ru (Russia) — those sites are not run by Kuycon and as far as we know they are *not* authorized resellers outside of Russia, despite their claims otherwise. I’m not aware of anyone here having used them.

I’m curious if anyone who has ordered one in the US can tell me what their shipping timeline looked like. I placed an order on 7/31 and got a shipment notification with a UPS Ground tracking number on 8/2, but the UPS website still says “UPS doesn’t have possession of the package yet. Estimated delivery date will be available as soon as we get the package.” I’m trying to figure out if that’s a normal time between creating the tracking number and actually getting UPS the package.

Seems about right. In the past when ordering something shipped straight from China you can usually expect about 5-10 days before it comes ashore and scanned into the US postal systems. Sometimes a bit longer depending on the port traffic...etc. I'd be surprised if it didn't pop up in the next couple of days though!

Sure, I'm in the U.S. and ordered from ClickClack:
  • Ordered July 10th
  • Got a UPS notification on July 14th of label being printed (no possession) that was originating in Chicago -- that seemed to be where they air-freighted it to from China. I never received tracking on the China side.
  • On July 24 UPS said they had possession (so 10 days from the original UPS notification)
  • UPS delivered it July 26
Worth the wait!
