This is a brand new rMBP....
At the end of the day you can either wait for some mythical software fix that no one has actually confirmed exists or can exist. Or you can return it and get a known working mac.
Yes. Trade in your rMBP for an inferior display that will make you cry after using a rMBP. But hey, at least Facebook will be smoother. So your bascially saying I should return a brand new top of the line product and get an older, already outdated product

Something that I totally didn't notice until today is that I receive absolutely zero UI lag using Windows 7 64Bit on Bootcamp. I'm using Chrome on Facebook and ANY other website and I can scroll literally as fast as I want. Not sure why I didn't notice it earlier. Probably because I did 99% of my web browsing in OSX.
So without a shred of a doubt this has to be related to the software.
Windows is on native 2880x1800 correct?
How does going native in OS X work?

The regular MacBook pros were updated the same time as the retina was released.
I hate Facebook, but not being able to type in a text box without a delay, that is a behavior that requires a cure when it occurs, usually a reboot. If that doesn't work then it's time for a fresh install. If a fresh install doesn't work then new hardware is required.

Sounds like your mind is already made up so why did you even bother starting this thread?
Look, some owners are trying to battle buyer's remorse (or just don't know better) by convincing themselves that the lags are purely due to software and that a fix from Apple is just around the corner. First, they thought ML would fix it but nope, some users even reported it worsened the condition (though others report the opposite). Then, they thought 8.1 would fix it. Nope. Then, they pinned their hopes to 8.2, but of course that hasn't resolved the issue either. Why? Because its a hardware issue!
Still not convinced? Re-read Anandtech's article about it. They're one of the most respected tech sites on the 'Net and the author knows his stuff cold. They're not wannabe engineers like some posters on here; they ARE engineers. Accept advice from whomever you like though.

nontroppo should I turn off the graphics switching?
