Cool! Thanks for the update.

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ,Save $860.00 ;) I would like to buy this. Need to get arrange money lol.

There is tax. A company will charge sales tax to ship to a state where it has a store.

The store I had in mind is in a state that has no tax and is 20 miles away.

Do they really charge $50 to ship to store when they ship to your home for free?

Awesome...I bet it's perfect. All the best

Only scare was an error while updating the system. Had to redownload and reinstall updates.

Keyboard feels different than my iMac keyboard. Typical for a laptop? Feels more worn-in/spongier.

Overall brand new except box which is just the shipping box.

BAsed on some benchmarks from Macworld. gpu is faster in games than even new low-end 15" MBP. About same speed as new 13" MBP in most other benchmarks it seems.

No, what he said was that the purchase was over $50 so it gets free shipping to your home from Apple. I however understand your situation. I live about 20 minutes from a tax free state myself. If I get it shipped to my house, I have to pay alot of tax. If I pick it up, I get no tax. I have never called to see if it can ship referbs to store but I don't think they allow it. I know you can reserve new computers though at stores.

Sound news but I'm not sure about the keyboard. My MPB 2010 13" doesn't feel spongy.

Can you compare at an apple store or someone else's MPB.

Did I just throw away $1,000?

I just bought the 15" high end model that just came out and added the HD display. I think it came out to around $2500 with tax. I see these refurb 15" i7s for $1,000 less than what I just bought. I mainly use it for editing large RAW files in CS5 and LightRoom3. I do very little video editing, occasionally play a game or two. Would it make sense to cancel my order and just get the refurb? I'm sure that the 2.7 i7 would be plenty for my needs. I had no idea the refurbs would be so cheap for the mid 2010s. Can I even cancel my order? The only email I have received is just a confirmation of my order from yesterday at 5am. Ideas please?

you can cancel on line if it has not been prepped for shipping. If not just call.

$1000 is allot if money and the older tech will work. tough call.

good luck

work of art laptop. Love the momentum scrolling. like brand new.

Still not sure I need a dedicated gpu afterall. I'm not quite sold on gaming on a laptop after 1 night with it.

So might just move down to the 13" MBP with, gasp, integrated graphics.

Beautiful laptop though. And as good as brand new.

They are back, and I just got one! My first Mac woooooooooooooo!

congrats...I just saw them too!! I'm contemplating now though, cuhz I can spend an extra 120 for a brand new one and pick it up on the same time here at my university. So i'm really thinking of paying that extra lol

Here it is...I need some advice...

Okay, I just talked to my Co-Op store at my university, I can get my entry level macbook pro 15in i5 April 2010 Model for $1482.94, after tax and pick it up today.

However, I can get the refurb edition with Next Day Shipping which means I received by Wednesday for * 1,373.76

It is approximately 100 dollar savings if I wait for a refurb one what you guys think? I'm leaning towards the new one at my university store, but you think refurb is worth the wait and savings of 100 dollars?
