I have parents and family friends ready to cycle off the 8 or older and want a Touch ID. Many people care about the SE.Does anyone really care about it tho it’s the same se again it’s just the same old boring phone with 5g

Is good battery life a gimmick? The battery on the current SE is very bad and it most probably will be the same if not worse in this upcoming SE.I suspect there are a lot of people who'd be quite happy to have such a boring phone, rather than splurge insane amounts of money on the high end models whose additional functionality are often gimmicks as opposed to practical must haves.
30 million people or so.Does anyone really care about it tho it’s the same se again it’s just the same old boring phone with 5g
There was a 256 GB version but they discontinued it.This is a real Mandela effect moment for me, but I could have sworn the 2020 SE was already being offered in 256GB ??
Exactly. I just ordered a 64GB Product(RED) iPhone SE for $199. It's going to be a great phone at a great price. I didn't think I'd ever go back to an iPhone, but I couldn't pass it up for that price.I suspect there are a lot of people who'd be quite happy to have such a boring phone, rather than splurge insane amounts of money on the high end models whose additional functionality are often gimmicks as opposed to practical must haves.
Currently, the cheapest iPhone that Apple offers a 256 option is the iPhone 12 mini at $749. If the SE uses the current upgrade cost, the iPhone SE with 256 will be $549. Buyers that value a lower price can stick with the 64 and buyers that value price+storage will buy the 256 and save $200. Also, white, black and Product Red are the current SE options, I strongly doubt they will give it new colors if they are still using the older design.3. Storage: 64/128/256GB.
- No, won't have a 256GB option. Simply because then it becomes too expensive for budget buyers.
5. Casing: white, black, and red.
Not really - Starlight, Midnight & Project Red. I am already not trusting this guy.
6. Similar form factor design to current SE. -
Unfortunate but also quite true. Because no leaks about new design with notch.
Does anyone really care about it tho it’s the same se again it’s just the same old boring phone with 5g
I think a lot of people still want a physical home button with TouchID and I think that Apple knows that, it's probably why they are still selling this design.I do care as I got the SE in 2020 (upgrading from iPhone 6).
I refused to have the notch and the lack of touch id bothers me on the new models so I'm personally happy that Apple keeps this design around. You get amazing phone for fraction of the cost. Also, the size is much nicer for my small(ish) hands so I can easily control this with one hand. I couldn't do the same with iPhone 11 Pro when I got it to test it if I can actually use it (returned it after 2 weeks).
Most people upgrade their phone every year or 2 but I bet you that in a week most of them forget about the differences and just realise that it works just as well as the one they had previously. At the end of the day its just a phone and the progression is super small these days so longer cycles are where you notice it day by day. ;-)
it’s his job…Why would anyone “leak” information about a product that’s going to be presented in 4 days?
The leaked information doesn’t have any value being so close to the official unveiling.
I’ll tell you why — Clicks. It’s all about clicks and getting attention for himself.
The SE is the entry level model. It doesn't need to be "exciting," just functional. So not even a color change? So basically the only difference is 5G and A15. Apple can't release a phone this boring, I think this account is fake.
I’d be interested in whether the se supports precise finding of AirTags. The 11 did but not the se

That's an interesting question. I am a big fan of Touch ID over Face ID, and I don't believe all the issues would be solved with an under-screen fingerprint reader. It did NOT prevent me from upgrading my SE 2020 to a 13 mini, but it certainly gets in the way of my considering it a slam dunk wonderful upgrade for me.At one point is it too expensive to still keep the TouchID around?
I don't agree: making it an iPhone 11 would be the end of Touch ID in the iPhone lineup, and I believe there is still a significant number of people that prefer it.would make much more sense to copy the iPhone 11 and make the new SE from that and delete that from the lineup....
Apple isn't going to sell an iPhone for less than $399. And if they add an A15 and 5G, $399 will be a bargain. For me, this SE upgrade is poor, if the rumours are true. A price cut would make it far more palatable.
Expensive? What extra is it costing Apple to use old tech that R&D is already paid for? Would I prefer to see TouchID move to the power button or under the glass? Sure , but this is Apple's entry level budget phone. If TouchID weren't cost effective...they'd dump it.At one point is it too expensive to still keep the TouchID around?
I highly doubt that you have access to information that Kuo doesn’t regarding unreleased Apple products, so presumably either he is referring to Starlight and Midnight as “white” and “black” — like most regular people probably do — or they just aren’t changing the colors.5. Casing: white, black, and red.
