What's Apple's policy on returning a "custom" Macbook Pro? It's factory sealed. Received it from China on Friday - 2/27.

I really wanted a new Mac Pro, but figured they wouldn't be out for a while...

Teas all round it is then. Sorry no apple Tea, got some Lapsang Souchong though. Sorry can't get Chocolate Digestives in this neck of the woods, just plain old digestives.

I'll bring my own dark chocolate M&S digestives then

...if you go to the search bar on the Apple Store, type:

Code:
Password: Steve Jobs Steve Jobs

it reveals what is inside the secret box. Let me tell ya, you are going to be soooo surprised!
 I did say I must be hallucinating .... you sarky so & so you :)

Different expectations

I'm just gonna come out and say it... What I'm actually hoping for is a price cut on iPods. It was this very day last year that iPod prices were cut where I live (Spain).

My sister ordered a Mac mini on Friday and is expecting delivery any day now as it's already shipped. What are her options for returning it?

She ordered it online through the UK Apple Store- do they have a 28 day no-quibble return policy if she should decide to try and send it back?

Thanks

Hi,
years ago when I ordered a IPod mini I was in the same miserable situation - ordered the day before the new one was announced. The same day a got an e-mail notice from apple stating, that the Ipod was already sent out and that they couldn't update to the new version. Though they also send me a charger and some other stuff to make up for the price difference.
I was completly buzzled, as I didn't expect a company to do something like that one their own, without having me sent a mail at all!

Your sister should be fine. Just wait for the new products to be announced, then you'll see.

I sleep for 45 minutes and we have 9 more pages. :D

Refresh means what it sounds like. Same design, just more current hardware (though I'd hardly call Core 2 Duo a "current" desktop processor).
Definitely know what you mean, but technically Core 2 Duo is "current" so Apple is bound to use that in marketing, while conveniently ignoring its low performance.

Given how lame this update may be, I expect major changes the next update, likely in September or October. Quad Core, non-laughable updates to the mini, possible iMac and mini redesign, maybe a new desktop line altogether and no more mini.
We may not see quad-core in the iMac until 2011.

just buy them online in the UK, from somewhere that ships to europe. Current exchange rate is so bad it'll probably be cheaper than buying in Spain

In the search bar on the We'll be back soon page , type in Mac Mini and then click the results....something weird happened when I did it .....

In the US it now says From $599, instead of the $499 it was previously.
