iMac update has nothing to do with new components.

U2 has a new album released today, so Apple is riding the hype to introduce the "iMac U2 Special Edition":

same specs as 24" 2.8 GHz current iMac
red keyboard and mouse

Well, two of them have been shot by some madmen in Pakistan. I hope none of them are seriously injured. I love Sri Lankan cricket teams. Lasith Malinga is definitely my favourite bowler of last few years.

by iMac refresh do you mean we are gonna get to see a new generation? like how it went from the Desk Lamp to the all-in-one monitor, or just some spec updates

Refresh means what it sounds like. Same design, just more current hardware (though I'd hardly call Core 2 Duo a "current" desktop processor).

Given how lame this update may be, I expect major changes the next update, likely in September or October. Quad Core, non-laughable updates to the mini, possible iMac and mini redesign, maybe a new desktop line altogether and no more mini. Well, that's if Jobs is out. If not, expect more outdated crap repacked as expensive consumer desktops.
