'Late' iPhone 5 Pre-Orders Being Delivered Early

Mine has been sitting in Lousiville since 7am yesterday. Somehow the GF's went to Queens - never arrived, just departed. Both are white AT&T 64GB, ordered from apple.com at 3:55 & 4:05AM.

Louisville is a 1hr drive. Wish i could just go pick it up.

Mine made it from Korea to Alaska pretty fast. :) 11:50 pm Departure scan from Korea and 12:32 pm arrival in Anchorage. :confused:

Their order status said processing till the morning of that day. When they checked the UPS tracking number, it said it was originally supposed to ship on sept. 24 but I guess they got it a few days early. I ordered my black 16GB iPhone at 9:10AM from AT&T and till this day it says processing. My email said I would get it on the 21st but I never got an email saying it was going to be delayed like some people mentioned. I contacted AT&T today and they said that due to high demand, it was back ordered till oct. 4-15. The lady apologized and waived my $34 upgrade fee. Great.

UPDATE: I got an email today saying my phone shipped! Its currently in Texas and I should receive it tomorrow. (I live in the Bay Area). Hopefully others get the same result.
 
What the hell....????

Anyone else getting the "A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated." ??????

I was so excited to get the email that my iphone was coming early.. and now it hasn't even left the plant...
 
Can anime help me track my flight? Please! I don't know how and can't figure it out. My phone departed at 7am the flight from there to me is a 4 hour flight yet it still hasn't arrived anywhere....

Can someone explain please

it seem like my phone stock in China how come it was ready for UPS in 9/24 and went to ZhengZhou, China in 9/22 take a look at this pic, also up until i post this replay i got no more update from UPS

People need to relax about the shipping info. All carriers do it, especially with shipments from overseas. It can take their system some time to update and in the mean time is has gone elsewhere etc which muddles the whole thing.

iPad launch it said it was in alaska for 2 days before magically ariving at my door.
 
OH MY GOSH!! I am so livid my package has been in the US since yesterday a 4 hour plane flight away in Georgia I just called ups and turns out they are all being held at customs and they are pushing our deliveries till the first of October WOW. If anyone is in a standstill anywhere in the US. Ups just answered our questions. If anyone else has had a hold up... Do me a favor and call you ups. Find out if this is the case for everyone. No more early pre order delivery

So, has anyone ACTUALLY got their iPhone 5 in hand, as yet ? regardless of delivery days, as these are always estimates. It can swing either way.

I had this exact same thing with the iPhone 4s.... I cancelled the following week, went down to store, and picked it up next day.

So.... really, if people can't get to a store, then its business as usual by delays..

You should be used to it by now... Apple does it every release.

Credit Card hit Sunday 23rd mid afternoon, and shipping status went to preparing to ship
Email Sept 25 (Tuesday) 4:30ET - Shipping notice with delivery estimate of Oct 2....

  • Was initially scheduled for 5 October
  • Bumped up to 28 Sep
  • Bumped again to 27 Sep
  • And now it is set for Wed, 26 Sep...arrving into SF FiDi

Pretty cool, eh?

Transit Times: Sept 22nd arrive Sept 26 (including weekend). Delivery to South Florida

You can see there are long periods even on short flights without scans. Don't be surprised by this.

Thanks for the info. in your case, did you delivery date disappear from the tracking page at some point? Mine initially was showing 09/28. Now there is no mention of delivery date anywhere..

what type of service is showing on your UPS tracking

The delivery date did not appear on UPS information until it had arrived at the distribution center in Kentucky. While it is traveling and clearing their internal customs scans, etc. they don't seem to assign a delivery date. The date for delivery didn't appear until today (25th) and originally stated the 27th for delivery and then updated to the 26th after a few hours.
 
ok cool.. so i hope to see it within 4-5 days of shipping as per standard ups delivery time frame...if it shipped on 22nd, should get here by the 28th then.
