I tried battery percentage for one minute and disabled it, i just like more clean look without any numbers showing. And i don’t care to know all the time how much battery i have left.
Agreed.

I've found it so much easier to just glance at the icon and narrow it down to simple estimations on battery life. "Full", "mostly full", "about half", "less than half", "low battery" (when red).

But good on all those information addicts who want that number to be displayed.

While I can foresee this introducing some optical funkiness when battery drain levels fall "anywhere within the percentage numbers," I do like the added "visual drain" element.

Finally! I mentioned that apple should do this (let the battery indicator change to reflect the state of charge as it declines) right after they implemented showing the percentage within the icon.

And people (apologists) on here ridiculed me and told me what for? Why can’t I just look at the percentage blah blah blah. I’m glad apple is listening to feedback and reverting the indicator to function as it has for several years…

By this reasoning the always on display is completely useless. “Never found it difficult to tap the screen to see the clock”.
Never said it was useless. Just more it wasn't anything worth complaining in my personal experience. You're entitled to your opinion.

Same as always on display not saying it's useless either but I can certainly live without it. It looks nice but I have a feeling when I buy an iphone that supports it I'll likely turn it off. More so because I don't usually leave my phone sitting out but we'll see.

Revolutionary! So brave!

I keed, this is a welcome change. I dislike the full battery indicator at present.

what do you mean? ...what is wrong with notifications as they exist in 16.1?
Nothing really, I just strongly dislike the new notification lock screen in ios16 in general. I dont like that they come up from the bottom, I find that I am missing notifications because of it. If you swipe down from the top to view them, you still have to swipe up from the bottom. I just prefer the notification style of essentially all previous OS versions.

When I have to squint my eyes to make out the reading., when I have my reading glasses on no problem. Regardless, this is a welcome improvement, glasses or no glasses.
