You can turn it off by tapping the album art.I have no problem with the album art and it can be prominently featured in the Musis app itself. But on the Lock Screen? How many people stare at the album artwork on the Lock Screen for long? I still don’t care as long as it doesn’t sacrifice functions that would be useful, but here it does (and always has done as these functions have never been directly accessible). At least give the user the option on what they want
They don't show for me when I haven't used any media player. The Lock Screen is usually blank until notifications come in.Ironically, I have a customer who just wants the lock screen to be empty at all times except for time and date? He keeps getting playback controls popping up even when the music app (or any player app I believe) is closed. He doesn't want anything on the lock screen up in-front of customers. And, there seems to be no way to completely make the lock screen just a dumb iOS 3 and earlier lock screen anymore. He's.. annoyed.
If only Apple made a dedicated media playing device? For, you know.. music, photos, and even videos!
Then, his phone, could be a phone, and he could have all his media on a dedicated media device, like he really wants.
I wonder what they'd call that?
His work schedule and my customer schedule have not synced up to allow me to get hands on his phone to try anything in person, sadly. Walked him through changing some settings that should reduce what he's seeing, but the next day got a text from him that it's still happening. I'm actually excited to get my hands on it to see what's actually happening? They don't show for me when I haven't used any media player. The Lock Screen is usually blank until notifications come in.
Agree 100%. I don't see a volume slider; I know the device has the hardware, but still..... So much real estate. Is there a volume control on the lock screen? I can't see the entire picture in the first post. If not, that's kind of an oversight to me.
I am one of those people who likes it displayed.Still no option to Like/Dislike, loop or shuffle. Who spends more than a second to look at the album art that Apple felt making it bigger was what people wanted?
My issues isn’t actually the album art itself, it’s that other more useful features are sacrificed because of it. Maybe not sacrificed, but decided to to include those featuresYou can turn it off by tapping the album art.
Entry-level design trick is too make everything tiny; it's a shortcut to "elegant" and "modern."Just don’t understand why the scrubbing bar is still the smallest thing on the screen. Form over function.
These are not 3 separate products!!! *crowd goes wild*It’s a lockscreen, a glanceable complications center and an iPod.
A lockscreen, an Apple Watch and an iPod.

Are you getting it?
Dumb (phone)Then, his phone, could be a I wonder what they'd call that?
Most of that real estate is taken up by the clock, date, widgets, music player and notifications. As much as people like having the volume slider, it is unnecessary and duplicating hardware functionality.Agree 100%. I don't see a volume slider; I know the device has the hardware, but still..... So much real estate.
Yes, as others have mentioned you tap the large cover and it retreats into the player widget. No option to make this monster small enough to a point where there are only control buttons, not everyone needs to see album covers?
It's likely showing up because the customer has headphones connected, and it's the Siri suggestions feature popping up. If they go into Settings > Siri & Search and turn off "Show When Listening" that should not appear in the future.Ironically, I have a customer who just wants the lock screen to be empty at all times except for time and date?
