All that space and they can't add an ability to love a song from the lockscreen. Still looks great though!
Oh they had that back in iOS ....7, 8? 9? I was not happy they took that away. Seemed very short sighted of them. I used that a bunch with iTunes Radio at the time. Hopefully these new developer kids get a "cool idea for something new" and bring it back.

Only took them 7 years to almost "fix" the airplay they broke after iOS 6. Dorks. Airplay 2 was not a good idea. It's still nowhere close to as good as iOS 5. That was the best. I could play a movie on my iPad 1(!!), put it to sleep, and it played in its entirety without any issue. Now the stupid thing dies when going to sleep. Pointless and stupid. Yep, I'm a "Bring Back Forstall" cheerleader because of it. I like Craig, but iOS has been a bit of a mess ever since.

I agree with the additional controls and hope the volume slider is back as well as an "Accessibility" option for the old touch targets. I have large hands and even with the Pro Max, find it super hard to drag the new progress bar for songs.

Yep. Another thing they had back in the "gooder" days before the stupid iOS 7 whitewashing. Forstall's iOS had controls you could actually grab and move. Apple turned its back on the older demographic and went with smaller controls for kids (who have more disposable income for $1400 toys). I find it infuriating. Hilariously, as this demographic ages, and the developer kids age with them, they'll go "gosh, I should make these controls bigger; I can't grab them easily. Yeah! That's an awesome idea! I'm so smart!" (No, junior, you're just repeating what we already did).

In a weird twist, the Apple C suite is the older crowd, but it's super obvious they aren't reviewing the products themselves like Steve did.

Maybe they'll later "fix" this stupid iPad onscreen keyboard garbage too. The dumbest idea to have it have the idiotic multi tap crap that selects and deletes what you typed and the undo button doesn't actually undo it. That's some sheer stupidity right there. Whomever came up with the idea should be smacked, whomever wrote the code should be demoted, and whomever approved it should be fired. Idiocy.

It's likely showing up because the customer has headphones connected, and it's the Siri suggestions feature popping up. If they go into Settings > Siri & Search and turn off "Show When Listening" that should not appear in the future.
One of the first things I suggested. Of course it’s possible that something was lost in translation, so I’m eager to get my hands on the phone and see what’s happening.

Ironically, I have a customer who just wants the lock screen to be empty at all times except for time and date? He keeps getting playback controls popping up even when the music app (or any player app I believe) is closed. He doesn't want anything on the lock screen up in-front of customers. And, there seems to be no way to completely make the lock screen just a dumb iOS 3 and earlier lock screen anymore. He's.. annoyed.

If only Apple made a dedicated media playing device? For, you know.. music, photos, and even videos!

Then, his phone, could be a phone, and he could have all his media on a dedicated media device, like he really wants.

I wonder what they'd call that?

I kinda agree with your dude. Ironically how Apple is doing all this "focus mode" crap because of the very thing (the problem) they invented..with all these notifications and crap.

Sure, you can turn most (all?) of them off in Notification Center in Settings. Maybe have him start there and see how it goes. I *think* there was once an option to show the playback controls, but that's probably gone. Might've been iOS 3-ish, too. 🙂

It's still comical, tho. The idea of a "clean" screen is appealing, tho. Then you could actually SEE the fancy customizations you've spent hours doing that iOS 16 now offers.

That's why there's the option in iOS 16 of minimising notifications at the bottom of the lockscreen, and expanding them when you want to view them. I think this is an option I'm going to try when it's released.

It’s a nice throwback to earlier iOS versions for sure.

But those clock fonts…. Wow. (And not necessarily in a good way).

That was a nice feature Windows Phone had 15 years ago. Glad Apple is bringing it back already.

Am I the only one bothered that the widget is wider than the album cover? It seems off to me.

First pic taken 2 mins ago, second picture was taken in the morning. Same iOS build, same device. What’s that magic and how do I change it because I loved what I had in the morning
Just tap on the small album art

How can the album art and the mini player not have the same width? Am I the only one bothered by this??

I hate this so much. I just want notifications on the lock screen, prominently. Not buried down bottom.
Let us disable this & bring back constant visible notifications.

The album art display only happens when you touch it in the now playing widget, otherwise it is the same as iOS 15. Same with notifications - there will be 3 options to display, including the current way (except it will display from the bottom of the screen).

Hey

You can select notifications settings to be ‘List’ which means they will be listed one by one on the Lock Screen and not stacked.

Thanks
