People use their phones in private. Ever used a phone in your home?
Tim Cook would't necessarily call it "the bump".disgusting camera bump
Just wait for another generation. This year, they are getting rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Removing the Lightning Port is planned for next year's iPhone. Can haz wireless charging??
And with enough millions you can change the laws of physics?Apple puts millions into R&D. They know how eliminate the camera bump. Flush cameras is where it's at, not this half hearted protrusion nonsense. Image quality hasn't been terrible since iP5s.
Wouldn't work.Or in a movie theatre, online at the store, on a bus or anywhere else where it gets on everyone's nerves... Unfortunately, the people that show disrespect for others make me want to see a headphone only device when the user steps outside the range of their home's wifi![]()
Hideous and embarrassing. The worst iPhone design yet, aesthetically speaking. Possibly practically too, if the no headphone jack rumor is true. That will be a reversal in the next design once people realize how much they miss it. Just yikes.

Must be tough having zero imagination. A new chassis design every 2 years is what most people look forward to...well except for you of course. What's boring is reading all the comments from people who are easily sold on a phone purely because it has a new design. It's what's inside the phone that counts and the software, in this case iOS 10, and how the two work together.
If you take off the casing of every iPhone to date and set aside the increase in screen size over the years you'll see that every generation has been an "incremental" upgrade over the previous model. Not that much changes dramatically in tech over the course of a year.
The sooner people stop moaning about this being an incremental or boring upgrade, the better. I swear that if Apple kept the exact same components as the 6S but changed the external design of the phone people would go mad for it.
Wouldn't work.
You go to visit your parents and you try to set up a FaceTime so they can see and talk to their grandkids, but the phone won't let you use the speaker because you're not in range of your home wifi?
Do you realize this is a fake picture someone made for fun? It has no basis in reality at all.Two things -
1. Anyone realised the Bezels on the sides are much thinner now? Looks good. (EDIT: Nevermind, can't tell from an all-black front)
2. 3.5mm audio jack is gone.sh*t![]()
Those saying they had huge expectations for this iPhone clearly haven't been following rumors.
The thing that gets me with describing the "all-in-one" lightning connector situation here is that it can only do one thing at a time in normal use. Charge and use wired headphones? nope
So the earbuds will plug into the
This is a big problem for me. Like... fatally bad. I often pop my earphones in while my phone charges at night. Are they really going to limit this functionality? It just seems crazy if it's only in favour of stereo sound. Any chance of two lightning ports?
It is flush -- No it protrudes. It is flush, if you use a case, which 95% of people do. If you don't, your loss and risk every time you drop it, even then it's still fine to have a bump.
Also, millions in R&D? What year is it? Billions
If they change it to flush, lens is smaller, photos are compromised, or phone is bigger and heavier.
Slight bump is the best compromise, effectively no bump for all but a few, and better photos.
Physics isn't required here. Shave off 1/2 millimetres inside the case around the camera assembly and sit the camera back further and just like magic, there you have it, a non protruding camera. Or, increase the case depth slightly. Lots is possible. And with enough millions you can change the laws of physics?
Look up the word hyperbole. And look up hideous while you are at it. Somehow in your eyes the basic iphone 6 shape has become 'extremely ugly' because the camera is a squarer shape rather than a circle.
That's not a design mistake, that's your own personal issues coming to the fore, especially if it invokes an association with embarrassment in you.
The thing about these unhinged thoughtless comments on things like a low res temp render, is they don't have to be defended against the slow logic and truth of time. And in a few years, when enough Android phones have dual cameras and no 3.5mm jack you will have forgotten what you said here. Doesn't mean we didn't have to suffer through reading it though.
It's an interesting idea though. The device is self aware of the circumstances. Not sure though if I'm keen on my device doing its own thing... ;-)I was just kidding around. Seriously![]()
Nope. No thanks. As a photographer I want a better performing camera and a phone that isn't thicker. My 6+ with a larger display, as an example, is excellent. Do not want a future iPhone any thicker. A case makes the camera protrusion moot.
Do you really think that wouldn't have reduced the thickness of whatever is behind the camera module (essentially the front glass and very thin black separation layer) as much as possible?Physics isn't required here. Shave off 1/2 millimetres inside the case around the camera assembly and sit the camera back further and just like magic, there you have it, a non protruding camera. Or, increase the case depth slightly. Lots is possible.
LOL so you don't want a thicker iPhone but you use a case...
