It also now says (x86_64) next to the version number so maybe the ARM version is coming soon
That's what Apple did with the Safari icon. It also looks like garbage. Did Apple hire some Microsoft designers?Wow what an ugly icon. Why didn’t google just make the whole icon the square rather than putting a circle inside a square. Someone was lazy at Google. Not surprising developers are often lazy if they’re not making money on things like icon changes.
I know right, it pisses me off that Google took every single macOS chrome developer off the project and had each and every one of them work on updating the icon during the last sprint.I would prefer Google to sort the battery drain issues over an icon 🙄

Its really bad. Completely unusable on my new Mac Pro. I guess I'm stuck using safariThe M1 Chrome version instantly crashes on my Air M1 when I try to log into sync my Google account.
Nice.
Chrome is always and has always been leading in innovation when it comes to web technologies. The UI used to look outdated, I agree, but under the hood Chrome is a beast. The web we have today wouldn't have been possible without chrome. Chrome is to web browsers kind of like the iPhone was to the smartphone industry.Efficiency improvements, about gosh darn time. I occasionally use chrome, still prefer safari - mostly because I’m used to it, but chrome has been really outdated in technology for a long time. Some like the UI, but seriously, it’s only a browser. As long as I can turn off tracking and clear all cookies and caches. I’m good
I just made custom icons for Skype, GitHub Desktop, and Spotify, as those were the only apps in my dock that weren’t rounded squares.Yay I can now add Chrome back into my otherwise square icon-ed dock.
Absolutely love safari too, but i need profiles. One for work with it’s own bookmarks, passwords, etc and one for personal life. Right now I use chrome for work and safari for personal.Efficiency improvements, about gosh darn time. They did. It says so in the article:I would prefer Google to sort the battery drain issues over an icon 🙄
Now this is what I call groundbreaking innovation. WTG Apple & Google.
Where is this? It just downloads the Intel version when I go to the download page.Chrome 87 IS Apple silicon native!

Google's wary of making everyone download the universal binary (nearly double in size), so you gotta choose when downloading from https://google.com/chrome/
Only the "Apple chip" option is universal.

Looks like they might have pulled it, not showing up for me anymore either, I experienced the same crash issues w/ the arm64 version as others too, oh well I'll just use Safari or the x86_64 Rosetta version for now.Where is this? It just downloads the Intel version when I go to the download page.
