Only if you like being blacklisted via CloudFlare which about every site I use has these days. Can't even do two Google searches before being blocked. Same with Tor.if you use Chrome I feel sorry for you. There is Brave which is basically Chrome without Google's spy cameras and FireFox both complete open source.
I don't get this option when downloading on my M1 Mac Mini, how come? I have updated to the new version already.Chrome 87 IS Apple silicon native!

Google's wary of making everyone download the universal binary (nearly double in size), so you gotta choose when downloading from https://google.com/chrome/
Only the "Apple chip" option is universal.
Code:file /Volumes/Google\ Chrome/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome /Volumes/Google Chrome/Google Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google Chrome: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64] [arm64:Mach-O 64-bit executable arm64]
it's the only browser supported by my employer and i don't want to keep switching browsers depending on what websites i need to access.if you use Chrome I feel sorry for you. There is Brave which is basically Chrome without Google's spy cameras and FireFox both complete open source.
Yeah I commend their effort on day one, but yikes. Crash city. Its really bad. Completely unusable on my new Mac Pro. I guess I'm stuck using safari
Try using Brave or Vivaldi. Both are built on Chrome and can use Chrome extensions. Also, they aren't made by Google, so your privacy is a bit more secure. Brave actually boasts itself on its privacy and security.I don't like Chrome for a variety of reasons, but Big Sur has completely broken the one thing I did enjoy about it and used it for, the extensions.
I use a video download extension with it. You click the little badge, select download, and it opens up a dialogue to rename and pick save location. Up until Big Sur this worked well.
Now, when you do that, the entire Chrome window shoves itself way to the right, such that the save dialogue appears offscreen and is unusable. If you close the window or otherwise cancel out of it, Chrome is stuck showing a phantom, non-progressing download on its icon that isn't in the downloads list; I assume the save dialogue is hidden somewhere offscreen, but expose et al don't show it and won't bring it back.
This update did not fix that issue, so Chrome is essentially worthless to me now.
I bet it’s something to do with a butt.<insert Phil Schiller quote>
lol, nice FlashFrozen in your Launchpad, but I'm afraid that won't work very well for much longer, if at all on M1 MacsGo download any icon you prefer, open it in Preview, then select all, copy, then go to your Finder, applications folder, hold option and click on the Chrome.app, click 'get info' and unlock to make changes, touch ID or enter password, then paste the preferred icon in place, save and exit that and Preview. I did this long ago as I hate the flat icon and brought back the old 2010 icon. Only glitch is sometimes after a restart it goes blank and you have to reset the icon back.
I can’t speak to uBlock Origin, but you might want to consider giving AdGuard for Safari a try. It’s very good, and it’s free.I use Chrome for uBlock Origin. No other browser blocks ads as well as this. Tried the Edge browser and ads still came through. 1Blocker on Safari works but it's not as good as uBlock Origin which is not available on Safari. Does anyone know the best browser that works well with uBlock?
"completely redesigned"Can you imagine the amount of research and engineering that went into this?
The new icon just really doesn't make that much sense when it comes to macOS versions before Big Sur.It gets the new icon on Catalina too.
Frankly I don't know if I care for it that much; I like the icons not being constrained to that square-ish shape. But what can I do, it's their app.![]()
It's a lie. lol Using google worked fine on my MacBook Pro until the last updates. I have 2 charity groups I work with and using google is just easier for me. Safari used to be slower. Guess I just have to start using Safari.. did Apple set this up?They did. It says so in the article:
"The new Chrome update also improves performance by reducing CPU usage through tab throttling that better manages resources. Background tabs no longer wake up the CPU as often, preserving battery life, so Chrome uses up to 5x less CPU, and battery life is up to 1.25 hours better."
I am not sure what you are talking about, I use all browsers and I am not blacklisted any where. Tor, Brave, Chrome, Safari, FireFox...they all work.Only if you like being blacklisted via CloudFlare which about every site I use has these days. Can't even do two Google searches before being blocked. Same with Tor.
umm... FireFox has uBlock Origin, also Brave which is a Chrome replica has ublock origin(all Chrome extensions work on Brave).I use Chrome for uBlock Origin. No other browser blocks ads as well as this. Tried the Edge browser and ads still came through. 1Blocker on Safari works but it's not as good as uBlock Origin which is not available on Safari. Does anyone know the best browser that works well with uBlock?
The only true reason I use Chrome was because YouTube recently broke in Safari, also in Firefox. Even with extensions/adblock turned off. This is essentially all I get, unless using Chrome:
