What is the current rumor on price? Are people thinking $849 (7S $649, 7S+ $749, 8 $849)? Or is it actually much higher?
And you know WHO at Apple? The 8 will have a starting price of about $1100.
But there is the fact that you have no concept of the technology. No concept of the electromagnetic wavelength and how it interacts with biological tissue. No concept of how much energy is being transmitted. If you will re-read my original post, you will see that I stated I didn't want any *more* waves going through my brain.
Somethings are a necessary evil but that doesn't mean one has to add to them. That was the nature of my post.
Totally wireless charging is just an discrectionay feature at the expense of our bodies. IMHO. The End.
With a cable you can roam up to 20ft away and still use the device. With a cable I have to reach for the cable and plug it in. With a wireless charger, all I have to do is drop it on the charger. That's the difference and yes it is slightly more convenient
These are isolated machines, not part of a network or connected to the internet. They have one job and one job only to do. Most X-ray machines are controlled by Windows XP, do you expect cash-strapped hospitals to throw away X-ray machines because Microsoft releases a new operating system?Kind of funny how they're using Windows XP in these factories hahahaha
you would be surprised that in many 3rd world countries older versions of OS software are the norm, due to cost and efficiency.Because it's an obsolete and outdated operating system perhaps?
Crazy we've gone from "Apple won't be able to do that" to "I'm bored" in a few short weeks.

I don't think it's that. It's interesting they've decided to add it now. After all, they could have added it years ago, but apparently didn't because it wasn't useful enough (we assumed they were aiming for true, long distance wireless charging).
True wireless charging still isn't ready. So... why has inductive charging earned its place suddenly?
Hey guys that have work iPhones and want to upgrade do you just have to wait it out for HR to upgrade you or you pay for your iPhone yourself and swap sim cards?
I purchase myself and switch out SIM cards. Much easier than waiting on HR to decide when to place the order, how long the delay will be, etc.
I also pay for my own despite being entitled to a company funded phone - that includes line rental and call charges. That way I get the phone I want when I want it and don't have to worry about "reasonable personal use". It also makes the phone costs tax deductible.
Also since when did Human Resources ("HR") control when phones got replaced. That is all the responsibility of IT for the companies I have worked for.
Jesus Christ, take a pill. You sound insane. These are isolated machines, not part of a network or connected to the internet. They have one job and one job only to do. I don't see what's so ****ing funny.
A lot of the machines we use for production are disconnected from the internet, receive no software updates and get changed only when they absolutely have to. Removes any unnecessary vulnerabilities or variables.
No, mostly they are completely offline or on a network which only connects the needed equipment (i.e. not internet or regular company LAN).
Where I work, we've got ICT stations that still run on Win NT.
I doubt it. These systems are typically not connected to the internet.
Also, if you have a tool and it does the job, why replace it?
Like the old saying goes... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Almost all Chinese vendors i work with use Windows XP.Kind of funny how they're using Windows XP in these factories hahahaha

Good pointIt was fairly easy to keep the details secret because they announced it six months before it went on sale. It's a similar case with the HomePod. They are already starting or are very near to starting production for the next iPhone so supply chain leaks are inevitable.
Damn that is insane for a phone that most people turnover in a year!
Most people are not buying new phones every year.
Considering the UK uses an version of XP on their nuclear subs. It's pretty scary where XP still keeps popping up.Kind of funny how they're using Windows XP in these factories hahahaha
