Anybody understand why regular calls would not work if Apple Watch gets LTE?
Because Apple want you to buy a new model next year.

No its the same build # actually. Beta 10 is 15A5372a. Non betas drop the "5" and the last "a" (or whatever rev letter there is) This GM is build 15A372. So effectively the same build.Given that the GM seems to have an earlier build number than the latest beta, are we sure that the GM is the final one? For all we know it could just be the first GM candidate, and the final GM will be GM2 or whatever.
Anyone heard anything about an updated 4" iPhone SE. I really need and want to upgrade my phone but want to stick to a 4" form factor.
...and we were wondering whatever happened to the Windows 8 wallpaper team!Jesus those wallpapers are horrible.
there were some rumors that it'll come in the first half of next year
As for an AW w/LTE? Well I felt daft talking towards my wrist when I tried the phone feature out... unless you pair Bluetooth ear/headphones with AW I can't see it being a "must have".
hmmm, not sure if I should go ahead and get the new 4.7" iPhone 8 or wait for the new 4" SE sometime next year. I want to get the iPhone 8 but really like the smaller 4" form factor of the SE. I ran over my SE about 2 months ago and cracked the screen. I put a new screen in it and the phone looks and works great except when I am talking to someone on the phone the mute button keeps coming on. The mute button is so touchy and my ear must touch it or something. But other than that it works perfect but pain in the butt trying to talk to someone. Not sure what to do.
...it's free advertising for Apple.

What's with the red crown? another sensor? Is it me or does the AW3 look thinner?
What's so "unmanly" about a flower or butterfly?
Bit crap that carriers will charge extra on top of what we are already paying, to use the same plan and phone number, and calling ability on an additional device. Can't understand why there is any need to charge extra for this. There is no extra work involved for the carrier.
I'd never understood the need for an LTE Apple Watch, but, I am starting to see the benefits now on the times where you might leave your iPhone in another room/downstairs, and you may be out of bluetooth range of it. This is just one example.
If the pricing wasn't going to be too much more than the none LTE version, and that the battery life wouldn't take too much of a hit on the LTE Apple Watch, then I probably would consider one. But I'm certainly not paying extra to my carrier to use the same phone number, same plan, on another device.
Hah, I don't recall this icon, but I didn't start using Macs until around 2002 (though I used the really old ones in Elementary School to play Oregon Trail, etc). Now will you look at that, it's an animated 3D “Happy Mac” face… For those who are claiming this new iPhone, or Apple, or whatever have no soul, that was the boot icon SJ killed off in Mac OS X 10.2 “Jaguar”, and which graced all Mac users for 18 years straight, courtesy of Susan Kare and, yes, a younger SJ (who, believe it or not, even wanted the Mac team to sneak in a “Mr. Macintosh” easter egg, but didn't get his way because the system ROM was excruciatingly cramped).

Incidentally, Apple has also been using the same “Happy Mac” face in other places, namely the iCloud error pages:

I hope so!Knowing Apple and their trend it will be free where available.
No but Apple is always improving things. It would be more convenient if they lasted my entire workday so I never have to take them out, lol. It's especially annoying to charge more often in the case if you use ear hooks, like some people do. I've found a way to use foam pad covers to keep them in my ears while still being able to charge them, but I'd prefer the hooks as they're a bit better for running.More battery life is always a plus, but do you really think the AirPods have that problem? Mine never seem to run out because they're always charged. I get 5-6 hours of continuous use and charge the battery case maybe once a week. And I use them for both work and recreation. The insanely great battery life is one of the things that impresses me most about my AirPods.
Just thought you/others should know that you only need to worry about bluetooth range when you're not on wifi. Example - I don't have wifi at work, so as soon as I'm out of bluetooth range (say I walk to the break room without my phone) I will lose connection. However, at home I have wifi, and the watch and phone keep talking to each other over wifi. So it's ok to go upstairs, or to the backyard, etc. without your phone.

Well I never realised that. Thanks very much for that, a reason for me not to go for the LTE Apple Watch now.
So correct me if I'm wrong.
If I leave my iPhone upstairs or downstairs and then go to a part of the house where I am out of bluetooth range. Will telephone calls, text messages/iMessages and other notifications work/come through over my home WIFI ?
And also, in the same situation of me been out of bluetooth range, could I make a telephone call from my Apple Watch over my home WIFI ?

I've just tried switching off bluetooth on my iPhone and I left WIFI on.
When I swiped up to reveal control centre on my Apple Watch, the iPhone icon on the top right was replaced by a cloud symbol, which I assume means its connected over WIFI instead of bluetooth ?
I was able to make a telephone call from my Apple Watch.
I get excellent WIFI coverage in all parts of my house from my Apple AirPort Extreme, so I won't be in a position of been disconnected from my iPhone, no matter where I may leave it in my house. I just need to remember to keep WIFI switched on now on my iPhone (previously I didn't as I get a generous data allowance from my mobile network provider).
Thanks a bunch for the tip, I never realised the Apple Watch connected over WIFI, I thought it just used bluetooth to talk to the iPhone and vice versa.
There you goCould not make some colorful motorcycle, machine, robot ot tank , for the dudes ? Enough with the flowers and butterflies!

It’s called golden master.
I suppose we are both correct: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_master_(disambiguation) - although I’m still a little bit more right. ;-)
You ran over your phone and those are the only problems with it?! That's quite amazing.
That sounds like you didn't quite get the proximity sensor aligned right. You might want to open it back up and see if you can realign it, or you might need to replace that sensor.
