I hope there are touch ID sensors on both sides of the phone.

Can't believe they released the GM before Monday. Doesn't make a whack of sense to me.
[doublepost=1504980913][/doublepost]A red digital crown?

That can't be right. Must be a pic of a guide on how to use the watch or something.

Hope they have a non LTE version with a fatty of a battery inside.

I mean it's not technically the same build. It drops the 5 and the a. It also removes the feedback app and all beta bloatware. Clearly it's not the same build as it has new wallpapers and other tidbits that beta 10 doesn't have.
I would say as far as code freeze/bug fixes it is. Removing the handful of items as you mentioned should be the only real difference between the two. I would guess the feedback is just an app as far as removing it. Hopefully removing the debug stuff will help with the performance some are worried about. At least a little. We could still see an 11.0.1 on actual release day or soon after.

Exactly why I'm buying a new iPhone BEFORE this happens. I will not predict it will bomb by any stretch as I know it won't, but it's a turning point in my opinion of Apple. This is not caring about consumers or giving them what they want or even what they think they want.

Brighter colors vs. short life span of the display and phone

Easy authentication via 1 finger vs. complicated iris & facial scan

I see a rush to buy into this coolness and then a reality check.

Samsung doesn't have IOS, but if ever they had an opportunity to beat Apple, they better strike while the iron is hot.
Because it's clear even though Apple won the lawsuit, they got TimMAY bent over bigtime. :(

Samsung DID rush to strike while the iron was hot and the only thing that was hot was the Samsung Galaxy Note 7!

Genuine question - why an LTE model?

So I don't need my phone when I go for walk or run, or to the shops, or somewhere quick. Or at work

As a gen 1 owner, I really want an Apple Watch with a compass. I know gen 2 has GPS, but nobody has been able to tell me if that also includes a compass. I've heard that it's difficult to engineer with all the magnets in the device.

That would make the Apple Watch the best navigation device for pedestrians or cyclists. Currently it makes a good attempt, but isn't accurate enough.

An LTE Watch would only be marginally useful without a massive software overhaul, because it's still very tightly tied to your phone. I can't use my Watch to control iPad, Mac or AppleTV-only apps and it doesn't treat those devices as equals to my phone. For example, I'd like to tell Siri to "pause the AppleTV" or the music coming from my Mac.

I don't care about compass or controlling other devices

Do you know what this means?!

It means that this damn doubling on secrecy doesn't work at all!

Apple Watch LTE : now with 2 minute battery life.
Yeah I’m not interested in having LTE on a watch, but I’m very interested in the battery improvements that have allowed LTE on a watch.

Apple leaked it out..

I'd bet a new iPhone on it.

Can't prove it but hey. This is a rumor site.

Nothing really unknown so it's free advertising for Apple.
Nah. They could have leaked features without releasing the code to pick through. Much easier and more advantageous to call in Gruber or Dalrymple to show off a few features that they'd be allowed to write about. There is a lot of effort going into next week's event. Why do that at all when you could just post a press release with the iOS GM?

Either someone is getting fired or some formerly trusted partner is going to get their yabbos hammered but good.

Just a thought.....since Continuity can unlock your Mac with your Watch, which is authenticated as long as you keep it on, why not allow it to unlock your iPhone as well? This might make the lack of TouchID a non-issue.

If they have come up with a slick way to implement it, it could be the difference maker between the 7s and the 8/X/Edition for me.
Yes Yes Yes. I want my apple watch to unlock my phone and ipad.

The original Macintosh changed the world of computing forever. The next version of iOS kills 32 bit apps, has no headphone jack, and has no soul unlike the original Mac.
I don't get it.

I don't think anyone thinks this is as big a change as the original Macintosh. However, I'm not shedding any tears for 32 bit apps and the headphone jacks. I do know what you're saying about soul, though. I don't feel like Apple devices have as much personality these days, and I miss that.
[doublepost=1504983859][/doublepost]The animated emoticons are quite the clever idea. It allows you to express a lot of emotion, and they're fun. My guess is that's going to sell even more iPhone X's than the OLED display.

Bit crap that carriers will charge extra on top of what we are already paying, to use the same plan and phone number, and calling ability on an additional device. Can't understand why there is any need to charge extra for this. There is no extra work involved for the carrier.

I'd never understood the need for an LTE Apple Watch, but, I am starting to see the benefits now on the times where you might leave your iPhone in another room/downstairs, and you may be out of bluetooth range of it. This is just one example.

If the pricing wasn't going to be too much more than the none LTE version, and that the battery life wouldn't take too much of a hit on the LTE Apple Watch, then I probably would consider one. But I'm certainly not paying extra to my carrier to use the same phone number, same plan, on another device.

I don't think you understand how cell networks work....there certainly is more "work" involved, as every new device on a network adds to the load and increases traffic. Imagine a sudden influx of a few million LTE Apple Watches. You really think that has "no impact" on the carrier or their cost to operate the network?

I am imagining the following scenario during the announcements:

'Now we want to to talk to you about Apple Watch. The Series 3 is incredible. And I'd like to show it to you. But first of all I need to say one very important thing about the new Series 3 Watch:

DON'T PRESS THE RED BUTTON!

I'm sure you'll want to know why. Unfortunately I can't tell you.

BUT JUST DON'T PRESS THE RED BUTTON OK?!!! EVER!!!

Moving on...'

just gonna leave this here

Sorry to be thick, but how would an LTE Watch change things?

Didn't the AW2 remove the need to be tethered to a phone?

what I heard was that an LTE signal would be needed to improve the GPS for workout tracking etc. as well as when you used emergency SOS it would help to locate you.

I think you are right. It's hard to tell what the true final build number is because of the lack of the revision letter. We know it's at least a "b". But it could be an h, i or even a j, meaning that enough though the base build is frozen from beta 10 there could be a bunch of minor revisions, just not big enough to change the build number.

Why would they do a price drop when they can't keep them in stock as it is? And the competitions equivalent are priced the same or higher

The Airpod possible revamp is interesting. It could simply be a minor update. But given the still are not in stock regularly, it makes me wonder what they are updating. Some have speculated a possible price drop.

There are plenty of articles and videos showing how easily the note 8 and Galaxy s8 can be tricked using a simple photo

That other phone has a IR Iris scanner, pin input, a finger print scanner, and face recognition. Much better options than just face ID and pin input like the AMOLED iPhone.

Furthermore, new reviewers are reporting the note 8 can't be tricked which is interesting. I couldn't trick mine with a photo of myself. https://www.sammobile.com/2017/09/07/no-galaxy-note-8s-face-recognition-cant-fooled-photo/

That's what I read from some neighboring sites. It appears a revamped version is launching, which would likely cancel out the first version. And yes, the price point for the Airpods has a plethora of technology for the price point. More so, the battery life being the main selling point and seamless pairing capabilitity.
