You stated verbatim "Pebble is not even round by the way". In your vague and non-descriptive previous statement, I replied with a post stating your misconception and corrected you. You do not have an argument. It appears your much more talented in mathematics iwth probability and variables then you are making accurate/legitimate posts. Welcome to Macrumors. Good to know!

I stated verbatim "Pebble Time isn't even round by the way". They do have a product called Pebble Time, do they not?

Thanks for welcoming me by the way. Did anything interesting happen between Monday and yesterday?

Lol. How difficult is it to realize Pebble makes more than one iteration of the Pebble Time, hence the Pebble Time Round, being its their thinnest smart watch? Like you have never heard of it before or its so uncanny that it was mentioned in a post? Being you sold your " Fall Out Pip Boy" Apple Watch Edition and commenting on an Apple Watch forum, maybe you should consider a different website to troll on. To answer your question of anything interesting occurring between Monday and Yesterday, being in the current time zone I am in, I met a troll on Mac Rumors. Case and Point. (Sorry, no math equations to solve here.")

As the owner of the Gear S, a potentially great devices which Samsung has cripped then later pretty much abandoned, I would not touch the S2 with a 10-foot pole.

Also this "app" to to tether the watch to pretty much repeats the mistakes of how Samsung tethers the devices on android phones.

Samsung is a company with great hardware ideas but ultimately incapable of learning to first think what is best from the customer's point of view. And completely lost on the concept of customer retention.

One thing is for sure. No one is mistaking an Apple Watch for a $20 digital watch. Its look is iconic and having many smartwatch designers thinking why didn't they think of that first.

As demonstrated by everyone rushing to copy Ive's case design.

Oh, wait.

I guess for myself (and 10 million others) we prefer a Watch with a stronger App store and more intergration with an iPhone.

"Prefer" implies that people had an otherwise equal choice. On the contrary, Apple has made sure that everything is stacked in favor of its own watch, by keeping crucial integration to itself.

And that's good design by Apple. When an Apple Watch is worn you can't even see the sensor pad so the Watch does look 10 mm thick.

Same goes for other watches, but they didn't leave that part out of their publicly compared dimensions.

except the Apple Watch is thinner than the Gear S2 with more usable screen area.

The Apple Watch does not look chunky at all next to the Gear

they both look clunky.

Let's not be coy here. Your on a Apple based website stating why you like your Gear S2. That's nice to hear. I'm not biased, I don't own a Gear S2, I'm sure it has its advantages over the Apple Watch. But let's honest, the Gear S2 and Apple Watch are entirely different Watches. The Gear S2 looks and feels cheap to me, call a spade a spade. The Apple Watch is aiming to be a fitness/health Watch, yet is way more eye catching with its variations of style. I could care less about who has the better battery life, ect.

When I'm wearing my stainless steel version of my Apple Watch and someone says, "Hey, that looks really nice." Then I prefer style with functionality, which the Gear S2 is lacking in one of those Departments. Is it my opinion, yes, but there is no denying the points I listed above.

It is an Apple based website. That still doesn't make it right for people to criticize and trash a product they know very little or nothing about. I think the same way when people trash Apple products on non Apple websites.

Apple Watch is incapable of competing with the Samsung S2? WTF! I mean you have a right to an opinion but Apple has sold over 10,000,000 Watches by now and Samsung has not even sold 500,000 Gear S2 yet.

So Apple sells 20x more units at a much higher average selling price and you say they can't compete? LOL.

IMO the Samsung S2 looks decent. It isn't an eye sore like the old Moto360 or the older Samsung watches. But it looks like a $20 generic watch. Not ugly, but not something that cost over $20. The Apple Watch on the other hand looks expensive. Even the Sport version looks expensive and its obvious even the bands are super high quality. One thing is for sure. No one is mistaking an Apple Watch for a $20 digital watch. Its look is iconic and having many smartwatch designers thinking why didn't they think of that first.

Thanks for your review.

I think for your use purposes the S2 is the better watch. You own a Samsung phone and use the GPS/3G frequently. But what kind of battery life do you get? I've heard with 3G turned on it won't last even a day. Or do you turn off the 3G when you have your phone with you?

I guess for myself (and 10 million others) we prefer a Watch with a stronger App store and more intergration with an iPhone.

I just ask this out of curiosity. You said no one would mistake an Apple Watch for a $20 digital watch. What about mistaking a $20 Casio watch for an Apple Watch?

I wonder if this is forewarning of the discontinuation of the Apple Watch.

It may be that Apple will now promote the Samsung Gear S2. It's certainly a much better-looking watch than the Apple Watch, sad to say.
what kind of stupid logic is this? Apple watch sales seem to be very good so why on earth would they discontinue something that sales millions more than the S2?

stop trolling

It's THE thinnest Smartwatch on the market

While I don't wear a watch at all, and haven't since I started carrying a digital cell phone, I think the round design is a waste. The rectangle just has more usable screen real estate for the size, and a watch really has no need to be round.

And yes, if I wore a watch, the Apple watch would be my pick. It's much nicer looking than this thing.

Has anyone heard any news on this? I was checking out the s2 at Best Buy and was very impressed, I think overall the design married with the functionality (the rotating dial input) trumps the Digital Crown, and I also like the 3G capability, just need iOS compat

No new news yet.
The current beta for Gear S2 app works pretty well on iOS.
Waiting for the final release, but I doubt Apple will allow it access to key things like responding to messages from the watch.
And contrary to what a few tech sites are putting out there, you do not need to jailbreak your phone to load it.
You just need to download the app, double click on the ipa file, and let iTunes open it up.
Drag it into your app list and sync with phone.
Accept the dev certificate from Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and you're all set.

Why would people have to jailbreak their phones to use it? Apple allows he pebble app on the App Store, that would be annoying if they didn't allow it on the App Store.

No point Samsung, no one actually uses your watch!
Once again confusing sales Figures with quality. Lame..
[doublepost=1464111825][/doublepost]
I hope Apple can come up with a way to block this.
Why? Is there a reason it upsets you?
[doublepost=1464112412][/doublepost]
interesting! This is good :) We need more choices and Samsung is great at copying and then innovating (a little)

Competition is a good thing, and I'm not terribly interested in the Apple Watch at this time. Maybe by version three like Musk said :)
Interesting, would you like to point anything in the last 2 years that Samsung has copied? Nothing? Thought so. Prior to that, they took existing tech and made it better..
[doublepost=1464112765][/doublepost]
I don't own a Gear S2 and never will. Junk.
Honestly mate, you need to say what you mean, stop sitting on the fence..

Ummm. I did. Read the post again. Your not paying attention.

The app isn't in the store yet. So you either install the Dev cert and side load the app through iTunes, or you jailbreak.
Pretty straightforward process.

Or PAY attention to the original post and we would not be having this conversation right now.
Your determination to somehow win this silly argument is blinding you to the fact that if you yourself re read the posts you would see that the blatant sarcasm in response to your first post worked perfectly. You said the gear s2 was junk, the OP asked you not to sit on the fence, so obviously a bit of banter. And so on.
