Now don't everyone go off your rocker with this but I don't like the way this looks. Just taller and not wider looks absolutely horrible. I'm waiting to see everyone say one of two things.

1. This is the best iPhone ever and the screen is the perfect size. (These are the same people that complained about a bigger screen)

2. The people that say Steve Jobs wouldn't have released something like this!!!!

Well from other posts and such I've read that good ole SJ signed off on the design of the new iPhone so whatever it looks like, bad or good, good ole Stevie boy said it was alright

Just get Galaxy S3 or the Lumia 920. The new iphone is making me yawn already :O

I call fake... I photoshopped red lines leading from the side bezels, and (other than a perspective error) it's clear that the bottom left bezel to top left is completely out of alignment.

lol. I noticed that too and thought I needed to get my eyes checked.

If this is a fake, this is top of the line.

I never considered any of these, very consistent, leaks to be fake. But gee, it would be so much fun if Tim just shows another, even more awesome, model on the 12th and is like "Gotcha! I said, we doubled down on secrecy."

He would never acknowledge the fakes. Why give trolls any attention.

Sadly, I don't Believe It.

I RARELY shout fake. However, upon reading some of the comments that did so had me go back and double check the video. Sadly, it's either a poor animation done by Apple, or is fake. If you watch the video at 1:11, as the animation of the apple gets the gleam and grows, you can see the other apple logo behind it. One might think it's a motion blur, but the apple logo vanishes within the next frame. Also, unless they have some crazy new screen for the iPhone, the blacks by comparison to the 4S are FAR too black.

i like how the sides are white too instead of brushed aluminim. sleek.

is anyone running ios6 seeing that the apple kind of "pops" when it's done booting on 4/4S phones?

I have iOS6 and it doesn't do that animation. I hope these are all fake iPhone 5's. I hate the two-town metal and glass on the back. What ever happened to the liquid metal patents/company they bought. I thought they would use it.

There's been too much speculation about this phone, it's starting to get anticlimactic. I don't know if it's going to look anything like this or not, but if it does, all of the excitement has been taken out of the unveiling of the phone. That's what has always been an exciting part of what Apple does, you never quite know what wonderful new device they are going to come up with next.

I hope on the 12th Apple releases a phone that looks nothing like the mockups. Complete surprise for the audience.

I am in the minority, but I still believe it's possible we are seeing one version of the iphone, kinda like an updated iphone 4s. Look what they did with the macbook pros, they updated the entire line and then released a Retina MBP at the same time. You get the option of purchasing either one and they are both good.

There are just too many question marks, for instance the rumor of an Ipad Mini but NO ONE has seen one component, yet, they have been able to build an entire flagship iphone? Just strikes me as odd. Even the stolen iphone was never visible until they left it in the bar.

I think there is more to this than we think. Again, minority, I know.

if the smaller hole was a last minute addition of a led notification light, i would be pleased (and it would be invisible on the black version).

Only thing that leads me to believe it is fake is the boot time seems pretty comparable to the 4s, which is sad.

it sure looks like an led notification light. You can see it light up when he turns it on.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but if this were to be the real iPhone, wouldn't Apple be harassing them to turn it back? Like they did with the iPhone 4 left at the bar. I feel like they have been letting the devices stay out there because those are distracting people from the real thing. IDK, it just feels odd to me considering their strict policy for secrecy and how they have responded to leaks in the past.

So steve ballmer walks into a bar

sweats on an iphone4s and like gremlins, this thing pops out. This two-toned thing has got me bent. Unless it allows the phone to hover over to me when my apple tv is on, I'm lost on the concept.

The CEO of the company who created LiquidMetal said its years away from being used to make large parts of a device like the iPhone. Wouldn't be able to keep up with such mass production.

Hence why all they have used it for to this point is the tool they give you to pop out the SIM tray :p

it only does it once. When it boots up the first time after installing iOS 6.

Here is why is a fake (proof)

Check out the following screen grabs. As you can see there is clearly a black cutout overlayed across the screen. BECAUSE ITS AN EMPTY REAR SHELL AND FRONT. Without the black cutout you would see inside the iPhone's empty shell.

Pathetic effort lol

Oh and the inside of the new dock connector is wrong too :D

doubt it's real

This has to be fake. Too many little holes at the top. Sim card tray has the hole in it still (which supposedly has been removed). Home button is too wonky. It's either fake or a prototype is my guess.

Y'think?

What gave it away for me was the fact that the 'screen' was a piece of black plastic stuck over the front of the iPhone 5 glass
