I think it feels better in the hand than iphone 4/s. much like the 3G did.

But, the features this has are quite compelling enough for me to switch if Apple drops the ball next week. I would not say that about any android. I'm an iphone user since day one.

but, having NFC, 4G, image stabilization, wireless charging, zeiss lens, 4.5" HD+ 326ppi display, 1.5ghz... is enough for me to have an alternative option now.

Good thoughts. Been a fan of the iPhone for a long time. The only thing at this point I really want is 4g. If Apple doesn't add it I might be looking for a new phone. Will Not go android or blackberry at all. Which really only leaves Windows phone. Not really looking forward to buying a Microsoft product because imo they are crap..... But if Apple doesn't get with the times I may be forced to. Well I guess we won't know anything until the 12th. So all I can do at this point is hope for the best. And if the iPad is any indication then we can hope for 4g on the next iPhone.

Had Tim not made that double down on secrecy comment, we may actually have seen less leaks. Lol.

ummm that thing to waaaaaaay toooo long to boot up.. OMG.. my mac book pro boots faster than that and does alot more..lol

Since it lacks the microphone on top, I'm guessing the "forth" hole is the microphone on the front. Keep in mind the iPhone 4S has two microphones.

There's a hole between the camera and flash. I think that's most likely the new location for the second microphone. It can do double duty there as being the main microphone used when recording video and as a sound-cancelling reference during phone calls.

The two dots on the front (other than the earpiece and camera) are probably the proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.

Judging from the boot up speeds, I would say this new iPhone 5 uses the same processor as the iPhone 4S. Sad truth :(

Yep, check the bottom of the screen at around 40 seconds, 100% fake. Let's get the mods attention so they can post it at the main page.

fake_iphone5_video.jpg

Take a look at the edge of the front screen, which the arrow is pointing at. It is clearly NOT flush with the bezel on the front of the iPhone, which tells me this is a fake. Perhaps a small "green screen" adhered to the front to digitally display a fake screen.

Also, (later in the video toward the end) notice the deep blacks on the iPhone 5 vs other iPhone; they are clearly different.

  • Pin in the dock
  • White bands rather than chrome we've previously seen
  • The screen appears to be a little off kilter (a.k.a. digitally imposed)
  • There is tape on the back where the logos are because they didn't put the logos on
  • Extra sensors we've never seen
  • Sleep/Wake button looks oddly shaped compared to the 4s
  • Odd home button

I'm sure there are other things. This is fake.

definite fake

reflection of left hand vanishes on FakeFone5 @ 00:42 whereas id does not on the iphone on the right. to add to that, the animation breaks on the left.

yuup

Was also thinking that if Apple is going to continue to sell the 4S as a "low end" option then maybe this is just an updated version of the 4S with a new screen.

Probably not but certainly a possibility.

There's nothing low end about having to research and design all new components for a low end model.

from Youtube: lol this is fake. If you look at the bottom left side of the "iPhone 5" at 00:40 - 00:42 u can see the bootlogo animation expands a little over a white area, which means it must have been edited over the edge of the screen. Its not a hard thing to do really. Plus, the home button is unbelievably cheap looking lol.

Screen on the "iPhone 5" is gray like iPhone 4S.

After turning on both phones, iPhone 4S shows apple logo with same gray display while the "iPhone 5" suddenly shows true blacks like an AMOLED display.

It's fake guys, just green screen stuff.

Last time I checked, screens can't remove reflections like that when turned on. I don't think Apple is that magical. Also I don't think the black levels would change so drastically when turned on (not for the better at least). The least the fakers could do is learn about blend modes!

Also when he flips the phone over at roughly 30 seconds, the reflection is really weird.

Nothing to hate, but what's there to love over the 4S? Call me crazy but I don't see anything overly compelling to get one. The SGS3 looks more compelling and I don't even like Samsung (or own anything they make)
