I wouldnt be surprised if Apple releases the iPhone 5 and it is the EXACT same phone as the 4S, jsut marketed as a new phone. I can picture the marketing video now.

For the new iPhone 5, we wanted to make the best possible phone we could. Doing this was no easy task, how do you top the 4S? Well this is what we did.

We already knew the iPhone 4 was a hit with its groundbreaking design. Millions of owners love the design. So we knew we couldnt mess with an icon.

With iPhone 4S we introduced Siri and made it even faster. Dual core processor, upgraded graphics, anda better camera just to name a few.

So with iPhone 5, we combined the best of both worlds to make one truely unique phone. We took the brilliant iPhone 4 design and replaced the technology of it with the technology of iPhone 4S. So now you have a phone that looks amazing, and functions even more amazing than iPhone 4.

Ladies and gentlemen, iPhone 5

Thank god!

I was worried the iPhone 5 would look exactly like the 4 and 4S!

Phew..

haha..

I'm quite jealous of my workmate's S3. It's light, sleek and the big screen is sexy. It doesn't look awkwardly big like some other large screen phones I've seen.

If this IS the iphone 5, I won't be upgrading unless the camera is a total beast.

The white looks nice but my only problem is the sensors showing, those 3 dots make the phone look a little unattractive. Jobs must be turning in his grave, every little detail counts and if it is true that those 3 dots are going to be there It could put me off purchasing the white iphone 5

Considering the visible sensors on the current white iPhone and iPod touch, I doubt he cared that much.

Looks like apple has a LOT of catching up to do... the new Lumia 920 looks quite impressive.

Now that's a sleek sexy phone packed with features...

How Apple needs to catch up with that? first of all Windows Phone has ****** upgradability options, from windows phone 7.5 to 7.8? wow cool support...not

not to mention the camera is just 8 mega pixels and overall it is not as impressive as the GS3

To start, this phone is Windows Phone 8, not 7. And 8MP works great in the 4s.

I don't think you are understanding anything.. I do know all that already I'm just asking how does Apple exactly need to catch up with a Lumnia phone if the iPhone has better support for software updates (iOS) than windows phone did, and the 8 MP sensor is so last model....

Another person overly concerned about MP. Gonna be pissed when the iPhone 5 is still 8MP?

And I still don't get your point about software updates. It's a brand new OS so there's no history if updates to compare.

how come we keep on getting leaked images of the white one? i want see how sexy the black one is.

the iPhone 3GS is getting iOS 6 and poor old current lumia phones only will get 7.8 so that pretty much explains that Apple don't need to catch on Nokia/Microsoft, they need to catch on Apple... in terms of software support

Apple's real competitor is Samsung... something tells me they will not get stucked on 8 MP like the GS 3 my theory is Apple will at least go 10... of course we can always expect a GS 3 plus crap of some sorts with the same MP like the iPhone 5

That whole thing w/ the Lumia is a special situation. What part of "it's a whole new OS" did you not understand? The hardware in the Lumia can't boot the new OS. It's not possible. WP8 requires new bios support for its secure boot and encryption.

You do realize that often higher MP cameras can perform even worse? Focus on the lenses and the quality of the sensor. Leave worrying about MP to the luddites.

"We're unable to complete you..."

Who talks like that? Oh, the Chinese....

um

so close to it coming out, and rumoured to be a production phone... i doubt they would be running a developer/beta version ;)

Man you need to read back through the previous pages. I pointed this out about 4 pages ago yet people still continued to post "OMG I THINK IT MAY BE REALZ!!!1".

MR HAVENT UPDATED THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE TO REFLECT THIS EITHER LOL

sorry, I didn't read all of the pages ... but at least I don't think it's real XD

there wasn't a phone like the iPhone in 2007 and yet the iPhone 2G even managed to get several software updates, the lumia case, that's a piss poor excuse for such bad planning and overall learning curve from the Microsoft dev team who didn't foresee some changes in the industry and the hardware... they already had learned from their competitors and the Lumia 900 isn't an old phone it barely got released a few months back... their users probably felt like crap when they told them they would get stucked in 7.8

I understand MP is not what makes great pictures, I get that I just don't see what Apple can learn from Nokia or Microsoft other than their own apps like augmented reality and stuff like that not the hardware... and neither their while original, very bad software support for their OS.

You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. For one, neither you or I know the decisions made years ago that set the current Winows phone version in motion. But it's clear that Microsoft made a tough decision to do something they almost never do. I for one repect them for it if it's not a common habit, and anybody who knows Microsoft knows that they are reverse compatible to a fault in almost every other case. Instead of picking on one situation, look at the company overall, their history. You can't say that this one failure to update past hardware will be what happens going forward....which is what you've implied.

you clearly have no clue what your talking because it you did you'd understand how it must suck to be a lumia 900 user going from 7.5 to 7.8 what a huge effort that is...

I didn't say this was their doom or a super giant failure, but they didn't nail it like they should have... i still fail to see what Apple can learn from this...

Having worked @ MS and still working with them daily, I guarantee you that I in fact do have a clue.

Customers may be disappointed, never said they weren't. And that sucks; but there were some specific technology requirements that forced MS to make a huge change in order to compete. The fact that you can't understand or accept it doesn't make MS's decision wrong. But yeah, sucks for Lumia 900 owners.

And MS has made some major UI improvements Apple could learn from. iOS is getting a bit dated and needs a refresh. The concept of live tiles and/or widgets (or something similar/better) is something Apple better be working on.

Better be working on?

Are you gonna give them a whippin if they don't? :p
