Seriously everybody? THE VIDEO IS FAKE Are you all this blind? It is blatantly faked as you can see from the bezel of the screen. It's just a dummy iPhone with a shopped boot screen along with it. REALLY guys?:confused::confused: Obviously that's not how the iPhone is going to look:

1. The front facing camera is far too small
2. The sensor placement is incorrect
3. The home button doesn't look authentic
4. It doesn't look like a glass screen

The boot start up on the iPhone 5 in the video is digitally altered and whoever posted this on the front page of Macrumors either did it to get publicity or if they were truly clueless of the obvious.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this as the first time I read the article there were 7 pages of discussion already but the first thing I noticed was that the watermark is vgooo which is awfully similar to the fake Iphone called the goophone and then the mention about the boot screen being unique, You can create custom boot screens in android which could have been done. Just some food for thought.

:mad::mad::mad:
This seems legit... we are doomed! ... this is what the Mayans predicted for 2012... :D

Now seriously, why couldn't apple just deliver a logical 4.2" 1280x720 display? (aprox 2mm wider screen for more comfortable reading - specially calendar - and better keyboard).

Even the ********* phone by any other brand will have a better display than this.

Jobs' thing about ergonomics and 3.5" was just an excuse for loosing the display surface battle... C'mon! I'm not asking for a huge 4.7" or 4.8"!!

What do you think?

OMG you read my mind!!! 4.2" and native 16/9 1280x720 no resize just to keep retina....

Btw the size increase done by other phone was the easiest way to get better battery....

Otherwise it is not so fast boot for a dual A15 ;)

I think it feels better in the hand than iphone 4/s. much like the 3G did.

But, the features this has are quite compelling enough for me to switch if Apple drops the ball next week. I would not say that about any android. I'm an iphone user since day one.

but, having NFC, 4G, image stabilization, wireless charging, zeiss lens, 4.5" HD+ 326ppi display, 1.5ghz... is enough for me to have an alternative option now.

I agree, the phone itself looks impressive. I'm a fan of the curved edges but the thickness is what gets me. NFC is a wash for me, I couldn't care less if the new iPhone has it. What's most impressive is the image stabilization and wireless charging. I think the iPhone will have comparable stats with regards to the CPU and GPU but will be more efficient overall.

Oh and the Lumia 920 has a 331 ppi display....5 ppi more than the iPhone ;)

Can you imagine all of the jaws dropping to the floor if Tim Cook comes out, pulls out a phone that resembles all of these leaks, smiles and tosses it into the trash and then reveals the new iPhone AND it's completely different? Would be a sight to see, but I am guessing everything we have been seeing is 99.9% the real thing...

That would be awesome! I wish Apple would read these forums and take notice that it's customers want a wider screen too.

I touched a Galaxy Note and tried to imagine how great this screen size would be if it were running iOS.

Sigh at everyone calling this fake. I really doubt that on the day Tim will say "we fooled you!", although if he does introduce an iPhone with not only a taller -- but WIDER -- screen then I'd be even more happy.

IMO the hole next to the camera will be for a notification light, purely speculation at this point.

I might be just my eyes (and viewing on a 3GS) but the screen on the longer phone looks to be a smidgen wider too.

at 0:28 you can clearly see the dock connector has some sort of line running inside it horizontally, isn't it supposed to be an empty hole?

Sad Jobs

Steve Jobs would be sad if he knew his new iPhone was leaked so badly before its release...

Folks, freeze the vid at 0:30, just as he is spinning the phone around. The black part of the screen is suddenly totally unaligned with the phone, like it is bulging out. Video is FAKE.
Piece of paper is the "screen"..

Nice! too bad nobody knows when it'll actually be released... I'll have already dropped my iphone 5 and cracked it by the time this is available LOL

what do you mean "new iphone" ? :) its the same thing, again. i have to say i was really disappointed when apple unveiled the 4S last year.. but if this thing is really going to be next, new iphone /iphone 5 whatever, then i might consider switching to another ecosystem. apple got to where its at because they took big risks, because they always innovated. when they released the original iphone back in 07 it was a game changer, something totally different , not more of the same. the iphone 4S and this thing are just more of the same. only this isnt 07 anymore , its 2012 and competition is so much stronger now.

and yes steve would probably be sad, but not because of the leak. but because apple management is too ***** to take any risks and move the ball forward like it should.

After viewing the video again, the screen on the so called iPhone 5 is popped up, you can see space in between like you can actually slip something inside. The more and more i see these random mock ups, makes me believe this is more of a marketing thing where every site can have their own mock up but not the actual finished hardware itself, which could mean apple has the "real" model still hidden...

I hope that u r right ! This leaked "new" Iphone is terrible. I can not see any reason to change my "old" Iphone 4.

I like the new design except that it being tall looks weird. They lost the golden ratio.

My point exactly!!! Doesn't make sense to make the screen taller! I still think the screen the screen will grow in both directions!

Am hoping that this fake iPhone 5 is just all a hoax! I seriously doubt that Apple has drop the ball on security over at Foxxcom or where ever is being built. Come on people do you think people at Apple don't visit these websites? After seeing the first leaked pictures I think Apple would of tighten things over in China. I think someone has a very creative mind and a lot of free time in their hands!!! Horrible design (the metal and glass)!

Video Fake proof

d1014ef79b85.jpg

1. sticker over the screen
2. sticker replaced with video overlay
3. real logo can't be larger because of same screen PPI, yet it is because video overlay is stretched

check it in the video, if you don't believe me (=

Man you need to read back through the previous pages. I pointed this out about 4 pages ago yet people still continued to post "OMG I THINK IT MAY BE REALZ!!!1".

MR HAVENT UPDATED THE ORIGINAL ARTICLE TO REFLECT THIS EITHER LOL

Funny how they pixelate the Apple Logo on the front page of the story.. dumb

M.I.C. Gadget reports on photos and a video that have surfaced on Chinese site Vgooo.com [Google translation] claiming to show an iPhone 5 that boots to a screen warning that the device is not associated with a registered developer account. Several apparent features of the device do, however, call its authenticity into question, and so we are primarily posting this for interest and discussion at this point.

Image

The video shows the device attempting to boot but being directed to a version of the error screen that appears when activation can not be completed. Rather than linking to the iPhone developer portal, however, the text contains a placeholder string of "@@url@@".

YouTube: video
One questionable aspect of the device is the presence of a fourth hole or window at the top front of the device that has generally not been visible from the front in previous part leaks. In the iPhone 5, the camera has been moved to above the earpiece, swapping places with the proximity sensor that moves to the left of the earpiece. This leaked device contains a small fourth hole to the left of the camera, and while previous photos showing the backside of the front panel do indeed show the window, it is has not been visible from the front in any previous leaked photos.

Image

This leaked device also contains a rather odd-looking home button in comparison to the home button seen on the iPhone 4S placed next to it in the photos and video. Apple has tweaked the design of the home button for the iPhone 5, but the button shown in the video appears to be a somewhat poor match for the device itself.

Otherwise, identifying information on the device has been either covered up or digitally obscured, rendering any specific model number or other information impossible to read.

This is that crappy clone phone Goophone...

They 'intend' to sue Apple when they release the next iPhone because it will be a copy of their phone of which they have made a clone of the leaked parts to design their piece fo crap phone...

The white looks nice but my only problem is the sensors showing, those 3 dots make the phone look a little unattractive. Jobs must be turning in his grave, every little detail counts and if it is true that those 3 dots are going to be there It could put me off purchasing the white iphone 5
