Why do people care so little for their job? Taking pictures of confidential stuff and posting it on your blog for some sort
of social 10 minute high is idiotic.

Recently there was some report locally on that so much confidential stuff found their way onto the social websites. It is the result of the younger generation growing up with this technology and being totally ignorant about the implications of their actions.

They spend so much time on their blogs, face book and twitter it is not even funny. They just waffle and want to and sound having an interesting job. Ignorance, just plain ignorance.

Have had several almost bumping into me, or they were bumping into other people, lantern posts etc. because they have to reply on their (whatever) to some message they received a second ago.

Unless the Xiaomi came out before the original iPhone, they have no standing to sue anyone. At this point, Apple has become the de facto design branch of the smartphone market. Everyone follows their cues and has been doing so for years.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that because I'm some Apple fanboy. It's just that plagiarism and followers bore me. I'd love to see some really original takes on the smart phone concept, but at this point, it's more or less a market full of Apple clones.

Agreed, but it looks like that Xiaomi was announced last November.

About half of them look like it, which is why I don't buy this photo as real

1. The chargers don't all look legit, no way would apple be okay with that

With the charger disaster in China recently, I think the outcome was: There are many good chargers and many bad chargers. I'd think that a manufacturer making Apple iPhones produces Apple chargers, and possibly a lot of other good quality chargers. Like perfectly legit chargers for LG phones, just as an example. And these chargers, being good quality chargers, would work perfectly fine with an iPhone.

Fake. Second shelf far back. What a lovely Ice Cream Sandwich device (wallpaper and you can see a little bit of the dock).

Looks too bright to be the ICS wallpaper. Could be a diagnostic screen.

Being tested for what?

To see how many can fit on a shelf before it looks messy...?

That's true, but the amount of effort required to make this image fake, is far too much to benefit from. This is not a photoshop job and would require a lot of hardware preparation.

No not that hard at all. Especially for a company that is already making iPhone knock offs. Slap a vague photo that could be a test screen on them, pile them up and take a photo. Use the blog account you set up a month or two ago with a profile claiming to work for the right company (like the platform verifies such things) and done.

Oh and who would do it? Someone that knows there's money to be made selling spy shots.

Facing facts is necessary in all aspects of life but in the instance of the iPhone 5 whatevers we won't have any until September 10 so hard to face something that doesn't exist. All we can do now is face rumors, which is a coin toss at best.

But speaking of facts, your premise is a bit off (and condescending). Apple has been selling lower cost, less featured, iPhones for a couple years now, many to buyers who use their purchase as their one and only phone with few regrets. Not everyone needs or cares about all the features of the flagship model.\

let's face another fact, we have seen so many leaks that we CAN say that the 10th Sep keynote will only be a confirmation event, where all these leaks will be confirmed.

Something just seems so off in that picture.

Some of the chargers don't look anything like a lightning cable. I used to work for Verizon so I've seen some things on testing out some phones and know it's not all high tech and organized a lot of times though for what this picture seems to be claiming I'd believe it'd be more organized than that.

Sure, but there are lots of rumors that contradict others so only one, if any, of those could be true. Rumors do not become fact just because they are repeated many times. There is a famous quote about that that may or may not have come from Goebbels.

there's a difference between rumors and leaks

No-one knew about the new Mac Pro at the most recent event. There could be a surprise. Especially in the software space...

that's because the mac pro isn't that popular nor manufactured in that big number, it's comparatively easy to hide it.

----------

Not really. Both are unverifiable when unsourced.

leaks come with photos and videos (something that rumors cant offer). like the recently leaked video of the gold iphone, we dont really need a source.

Too costly from a production point of view. They already offer different color combinations, but adding additional personal customisability adds large amounts or operational cost. Think about the following:
  • set up a separate process for ordering
  • adapt the production process to allow for customisation and to follow the product through the process (they need to be able to allocate the product to you at the end).
  • separate packing and tracing to you
  • etc etc.
Not feasible with the market share that Apple has.

What you are referring to is not true customisability but offering more colour combinations. Although that would also be possible it would also increase operational cost and would likely lead to unpopular combinations.

Well if little ol' Motorola can do it, why cant the biggest and best company also do it?

Like your train of thought here, but aren't the colors on the Icecream Sandwich wallpaper vertical, moving left to right on the device? The device I THINK you're referencing in the photo has colors positioned horizontally with the gradient moving top to bottom.

I'll stick with my rMBP 13" running at native 2560 x 1600 resolution with SwitchResX. Right combination of portability and real estate for me.

Well if you want to make completely hyperbolic generalizations, it is your generation that not only provided millennials with this technology but also reared them to be reliant on it.
