Can't wait, my wallet is ready. I was tempted by new MacBook but i need Thunderbolt 3 and more powerful GPU&CPU. I've already ordered on Amazon a cheap USB-C with HDMI, SD, 3 USB3!

Haven't seen one with both HDMI and SD... Any links?

A headphone jack you say...

If there's room in a device for 4 USB-C ports, and a headphone jack, then why not include it, regardless what Apple ends up doing with the rumored removal of the iPhone headphone jack.

However, I fully expect Apple to include a Lightning port on all Macs if Apple actually removes it from the iPhones. On the Retina MacBook, Lightning will replace the headphone jack, but perhaps not on the Pro depending on just how much room is available on this new laptop.

One thing is for certain, Apple's not going to drop the headphone jack, or add a Lightning port, before it's announced on the iPhone, and that means all of these new releases are being designed for the easy replacement or addition as required (if there's any truth to the rumor at all).

But this does make me wonder if the rumored headphone jack removal will happen in September, or not until next September now (if at all) ...

Where's MagSafe?

Seriously though -- you don't realize how great Magsafe is until it's gone. You can easily snap that little connector in place with two fingers, and there's even a helpful little light to tell you at a glance whether you're fully charged or not. One of the things that irked me about the Retina MacBook while I had it was the was the dumb USB-C charger that had none of these features.

Very excited to see this laptop! Maybe we can expect an announcement at WWDC and a release sometime later in the year like what happened with the nMP? Wishful thinking I guess, but then sales would fall flat.

May have to hold off for one refresh cycle on this redesigned rMBP. With all these extraneous gizmos being added, e.g., OLED touch bars and Touch ID, I can just sense at least one major feature omitted or weakness at launch lol . . . And/or extraordinarily marginal improvement on battery and CPU performance at the expense of said extraneous gizmos and redesign.

4 USB C ports? Time to order dongles! A USB C to DVI dongle, a USB C to USB A dongle, a USB C to SD reader dongle. All for the low price for $50 each! Well, at least there is some light to a new Macbok Pro....

This looks good to me. Probably not as light as I was hoping but I'll live. It will be weird (and sad) to not have magsafe but if it means I can use one port for power + usb + a display out (with adapter) I think it is worth it.

I just hope all the usb-c ports are equivalent (aka they can all charge, can all support tb3 even if only 2 can use tb3 at once, etc.)

Doesn't seem ridiculously thin so I suspect battery life will at worst stay the same, and probably improve (12hrs like the MBA would be nice).

EDIT: Apple would really be doing themselves a favor if they included one usb-c to usb-A/HDMI/usb-c (for charging) adapter like the ones they sell for the macbook air. I've already started the usb-c transition with my Nexus 6p but for most people this is going to be tough.

Isn't SD sort of the consumer-ish memory card anyway? Pro dSLRs are sticking with Compact Flash/CFast...
Nah, that used to be true but no longer is:

CompactFlash cards used to be the faster and more professional big brother of SD cards; however, several years ago, the CompactFlash Association announced there would be no more updates to the format, leaving card performance with a glass ceiling. Today, CompactFlash cards have hit their performance ceiling, and are slower than the fastest SD cards, though they are still quite fast.

Wonder if this means it has the same keyboard that the MacBook has. Some folks seem to hate the new keyboard
I'm one of the "some folks" and got rid of my Retina MacBook after giving it a shot for a few weeks. I "got used to" the new keyboard but just found it unpleasant to use. It would not kill the design of either of these machines to add a 1-2 MM of travel to make the keys feel like normal keys.

I hate it for the fact that it has horrible key travel distance. If they can remedy that, I think people's opinions will change. The feeling of touching each key is great. It's just that it's shortlived.

Where's the SD card slot? That's something that a Pro machine should not be without.
How will they ever be able to sell you dongles and adapters if they make the machine versatile right out of the box? And no one should be surprised that Apple is taking something away. This has become a 'feature' in both hardware and software lately. I am still excited to see this one, but don't expect to be eager to buy it. I like my magsafe and all my ports.

There is still hope Apple may do something with MagSafe, but I honestly saw it coming with the 12" MB. With the do-it-all nature of the of USB-C and TB-3, it was pretty easy see Apple going all USB-C as soon as possible.

While magsafe will be missed, as more stuff USB C comes out, having all USB-C ports makes the machine much more flexible. Now, if you never use HDMI or the SD card slot, you get 2 extra USB ports you can do something else with.
Not gonna happen. Magsafe - one of the best features of Mac's - have been crushed by Tim's 'vision' for the future.
