Really hoping to see an AppleTV with controller bundle. The AppleTV is already a highly competitive “console”, but without controllers coming by default developers are (rightly) ignoring the platform.

One thing I missed so bad is the 12" Macbook. It's so light, small and easy to use, I can grab it like a magazine, use it anywhere around the house even in small space like in the sofa arm rest, and throw it on my bed like it's a book. amazing stuff!

They are heading down the AR path, but with overlapping technologies they are not ignoring VR.

What hints are there in their product stack right now that suggests that they are not ignoring VR? You can't just one day decide to start working on VR and you release a product. You need time and resources.

Is the ARM Macbook going to be iOS or MacOS?

I would say the ARM Macbook would run MacOS...

But that's just a hunch... :p

I understand what you're saying though. When you think ARM you think iOS. But the rumors are an ARM-based laptop running MacOS. It'll be a different direction for Apple.

how do we know if the twitter account was "protected", tweeted a bunch of predictions, deleted the wrong predictions, and then set "unprotected" to the account?

Under the screen Touch ID being introduced to an iPad makes sense. Just like how they introduced LiDAR to the iPad first, Apple is hedging themselves by releasing newer tech on the iPad before launching on the much larger iPhone platform.

However I think it is not the iPad Air that is getting it but the next iPad Pro that's supposedly coming end of the year.

It makes sense to put OLED for the non-pro iPad and ultrasonic fingerprint. That's consider an innovation and as of late Apple can't get it right.

A new mac mini again..?

But I'm really looking forward to the Macbook 12", will probably get it as a travel device.

I don't see Apple bringing back the "MacBook" line again. I see the MacBook Air getting the ARM processor next year.

When was the last time Apple killed a product name, only to bring it back in the future? I don't.

didn’t they kill the MacBook line (white frames) for a few years? And didn’t they kill the Air for a couple years?

why a macbook run ios? since the macbook can run macOS, windowsOS, linuxOS,and soon ipad OS apps

MacBook 12. Sounds like MacBook Pro being left alone.
For now. I’d guess they’re throwing it into the MacBook to make sure if the first iteration is underpowered compared to its intel predecessor, it won’t get “mocked” nearly as bad. Chances are it’ll blow the intel out of the water anyways, and the stronger version for the Pro line will be that much better.

I knew they were going to use A series on low hanging fruit first. Interesting that they are bringing back the 12 inch MacBook. It’s less risky, especially since the MacBook Air has restored some sanity and affordability to Apple’s family of MacBooks. But I knew the recent iPad update was really intended as a test bed for the A series MacBook. I can guarantee you Apple will be release a special image of macOS just for the 2020 iPad so devs can start testing their apps. What I suspect though, we likely won’t see the A series MacBook until March next year. The intention is to give devs and Apple enough time to launch it in a way where its a fully ready to go product with no compromise. Basically, its WWDC 2005 and Macworld 2006 with first gen Intel MacBook Pro launch. You can bet your bottom dollar Adobe has Photoshop and Illustrator almost ready and Microsoft will be doing the same.

It is running a low-power macOS in ARM-Based Macbook. However, Apple could fail to do it right and completely turn into a fiasco.

I could see TouchID going under-screen on the non-Pro iPads in order to make the bezels bigger. I’m guessing they lave FaceID on the Pro because its more likely to be used in landscape mode on a desk. All they need to do is move it to the top edge, but that’s a whole other conversation.

Game controller is weird given the PS4/Xbox compatibility.

The iPad Air rumor seems very sketchy at best, unless this is the new iPad Pro max with larger screen that has been rumored. Under screen Touch ID and mini LED seems like way too high end tech to bother putting in a mid range 499 device which is where the iPad Air is currently placed in the lineup. Also Apple is all in with Face ID too so all this under screen Touch ID stuff seems like total nonsense especially with new iPhones 12 getting smaller notch.

Apple can be as "all in" as they want with the FaceID stuff. I'm never getting on board. My choice.

why low power macOS? it doesnt even exit...and apple doesn't need to do a lite-windows clone...since their Arm chips are very powerful already...and i bet there will be so little emulations

I’m wondering. Just a hypothetical...

Would this mean that future iPads may be able to run MacOS?
No, no chances...in apple vision, iOS is more important than macOS....they invest more money in ipad and iOS than in mac....see how an ipad pro+magic keyboard is a clone to their own product- macbook
