Great. That is very much in line with other rumours that gave exact mAh figures for rumoured 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max battery capacity where 13 Pro Max rumoured capacity was indded about 18% more than the 12 Pro Max capacity.

If that is how it pans out that will be seriously disappointing. In light of that second point about Low Power Mode I'm hoping that we will at least get an option to throttle to 60Hz refresh all the time for those of us that are quite happy with current refresh rates.

I'm still holding out hope that the 12 Pro Max -> 13 Pro Max battery life is going to be a big leap forward for people like me who keep 5G disabled and will (I hope) also be able to keep the higher ProMotion refresh rates disabled too so that all the benefits of bigger battery and hopefully lower power consumption on the latest A series chip and updated Qualcomm modem (now on 5nm I think) can all flow through to increased battery life.

Are the rumours also that these new ProMotion displays be able to clock down to much lower than 60Hz refresh when there is largely static content? A lot of my screen-on time is reading ebooks on Kindle or news on apps like BBC News so I'm hoping that for my use case I might actually see ProMotion significantly extending my battery life. Am I being foolishly optimistic?
I imagine it will be like the iPad where you can switch it off if you want.

I agree. The geometry shrink on the x60 is exciting plus the A series pretty much always gets more power efficient with each new version. I’m also very interested to see what happens with the ProMotion display. If implemented as I hope that could be another huge boost for battery life for people like me who are happy to cap the refresh rate at the current 60Hz (assuming Apple gives us that option) and still benefit from what I hope will be power savings when it drops to refresh rates well below 60Hz when viewing mostly static content. That would be a huge win for me given that I spend a lot of time reading ebooks and viewing other mostly static content on my phone.

I‘m pretty excited about the 13 Pro Max. Unless there are any disappointments and/or downside surprises revealed during the launch event I think it’s a day one pre-order for me to replace my current 12 Pro Max based solely on the improved battery life I hope is going to be seen this year.

With bigger battery plus better component efficiency might Apple be able to repeat the 2019 “oh wow” moment when it announced a massive 5 hour increase (over 30% increase vs the previous year) on the Max model? That’s at the top range of my expectations but it just might be possible. I can’t wait for next Tuesday.
from whats been reported, 60hz is capped when power saving is enabled. but i see no reason why you can't just cap the fresh in settings.

I'd expect better battery but also keep your expectations in check because some of the bigger battery is to keep up with 120hz. With that said, I'm sure Apple has found a way to optimize it and keep it efficient. Samsungs have already gotten pretty good at optimizing so I wouldn't worry at all.

I saw that storage tier also last week.
128GB, 512GB, and 1TB (for Pro Models)

We'll see. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rumored, but not sure if it's going to happen?

IF true...128GB would work I suppose, Sure I would like the 256gb like I have right now. But 512gb is not needed for me.

I think the main idea behind a 512GB is a price hike, so the middle tier is now $1199, you could think of that as a $100 cheaper than the iPhone 12 Pro 512GB, or a $100 more expensive for next storage upgrade of 128GB compared to iPhone 12 Pro 256GB.

I would be very surprised if they kept the storage and pricing the same for iPhone 13. But yeah we will have answers soon. Hopefully I am wrong because I really would like a 256GB.

Despite these ultimately incorrect rumors, Weinbach correctly predicted that the iPhone 12 would feature a new blue color option last year.

uhhh.... I don't get it... this almost feels like MacRumors is making fun of the tip themselves... "we don't have a lot of confidence in the source, but he did once randomly predict the color blue".

This is just weird...

13 Pro having less battery life than the 12 doesn't sound great.
Hey, 120hz pro motion display uses more power. I wonder if there might be some ability to have it refresh at 60hzz for those who don't need/want the 120 hz

Same recycled rubble from last yr w/ no sign of USB-Type C in sight... Hard pass.
Screw USB-C....don't want it, it's such a fragile unreliable connector. Since the connector in the device is the "male" end and you damage it...you're f'd. On a lightning connector the device end is "female" so if you break off a connector, just take an electronics pick and pull the piece out and you're good to go. I almost had a USB-C go bad on an out of warranty iPad Pro first gen...That would have been a $499.00 repair.

The thing i questioned is how is possible that the 12 Pro couldnt fit sensor shift stabilistation, bigger sensor and 2,5x telephoto but now the same sized 13 Pro, no one is saying that the size doesn’t matter for bigger battery etc. but this just showed that they could make camera features the same last year
Because of money? Come on, Apple is not new in trickling down tech slowly to nudge people into paying more. Apple has to put something to make people spend more for the Pro Max, and the camera is one thing they decided to differentiate. Now with the 13, they need something more to nudge people to upgrade to the 13, thus the trickling down tech.

It's not about technical feasibility, it's about product segmentation and marketing strategy. Upsize your happy meal.

From my god awful 8 plus anything is an upgrade.. the battery life is abysmal. Down to 50% every day after doing virtually nothing . It’s going to give me great pleasure to throw the damn thing away … quite literally
