Leaker Max Weinbach has today shared new "finalized and revised" information about the upcoming iPhone 12 via his Twitter account @PineLeaks.

Weinbach states that the "most important things" about the new iPhones were already revealed by Chinese Weibo user "Kang" via an extensive leak on Friday, but he does offer some specific new information.

Apple is reportedly still intending to ship the "dynamic zoning algorithm" feature, which could allow for faster Face ID. The notch may only be reduced in width on the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini due to its smaller size. This would be achieved by arranging the components of the TrueDepth camera system more "tightly," but at the cost of increasing its height. Alleged images of the iPhone 12 mini's screen emerged in July, which seemed to show a smaller notch.

Weinbach believes that all iPhone 12 models will gain significantly improved digital zoom via software enhancements, and the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will also benefit from improved optical zoom.

There may also be "a sort of macro camera" feature and the ultrawide lens aperture on Pro models may also be able to get closer to subjects, although these are not expected to be headline features. The ultrawide lens is also speculated to have up to a 35% larger aperture to improve low-light performance.

The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are claimed to have a boost of at least one hour to battery life, but the iPhone 12 mini's battery life is expected to perform worse than the iPhone 11 due to its size.

Weinbach also reinforced previous claims about iPhone 12 models likely supporting 4K video at 120 or 240 frames per second.

The report is apparently based on recent updates from sources that were received over the past three weeks. The iPhone 12 lineup is almost certain to be revealed on Tuesday at Apple's "Hi, Speed" event.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about a new iPhone anymore? Its always the same.
- Faster CPU
- Better camera
- Better Battery-life

...I think I am gonna be stuck with my 10S Max for a long time.

I would have updated just to have Touch ID. In the mask world we live in its ridiculous Apple hasn't implemented this. There is no excuse outside of pure laziness to not do it.

This year's models are looking like a huge design overhaul but a very minor feature upgrade.

If you want to call flattened edges a huge design overhaul....Still the same screen, same notch, same buttons, same refresh rate. Oh and a blue color (which will be covered by a case anyway).

Putting flat edges on something to me doesn't really qualify as a huge overhaul.

No Touch ID is a massive miss by Apple here. Really bad mistake on their part not including this.

Doubt we'll see longer battery life. 5G will drain it faster, so hopefully the larger battery allows as long a battery as the 11 Pro.
5G won’t drain battery faster unless it’s used, which won’t be the case for most people. And the phone will only use 5G, even when available, if it detects that additional bandwidth is needed.

These iPhones were finalized before the "mask world we live in" started.

Of course they were, just as the iPad Air with Touch ID was finalized before. This should have been implemented on last year's phone. People have been asking for it since Face ID got rid of it and Apple not including it is just pure laziness. And now with masks it makes them look even more tone deaf as nearly every other manufacturer has both ways of unlocking their devices. They've proven they can do it, but just don't because reasons....

I was just thinking the same when reading this post. The basic job of using Safari, reading emails and taking acceptable photos was solved long ago. I'd love something truly new to get excited about.

Wrong. If your phone is connected to a 5G network it is going to drain the battery faster. And 5G is available on most networks now.
Wrong. It will only connect using 5G protocols when additional bandwidth is needed. This is a feature apple will announce this week at the keynote. Otherwise it will use LTE to preserve battery life.

Hmmm same feeling as I was expecting 14’’ mbp mini led, I guess my XS max will last one extra year...

5G chips still use too much energy, no super coverage even if I live in Switzerland where they converted 4G to 5G

Non 120Hz... sorry but this is a big no...

Looks good. I think 5g this early won’t benefit much. Most of the country just got LTE. The iPhone will bring wider adaptation of 5g but to upgrade for it when most areas are just catching up does not seem worth it to me. Three years or so, definitely.... by then 5g will be more widespread and probably improved. Should be interesting.
