Leaker Max Weinbach has today shared new "finalized and revised" information about the upcoming iPhone 12 via his Twitter account @PineLeaks.

Weinbach states that the "most important things" about the new iPhones were already revealed by Chinese Weibo user "Kang" via an extensive leak on Friday, but he does offer some specific new information.

Apple is reportedly still intending to ship the "dynamic zoning algorithm" feature, which could allow for faster Face ID. The notch may only be reduced in width on the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini due to its smaller size. This would be achieved by arranging the components of the TrueDepth camera system more "tightly," but at the cost of increasing its height. Alleged images of the iPhone 12 mini's screen emerged in July, which seemed to show a smaller notch.

Weinbach believes that all iPhone 12 models will gain significantly improved digital zoom via software enhancements, and the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will also benefit from improved optical zoom.

There may also be "a sort of macro camera" feature and the ultrawide lens aperture on Pro models may also be able to get closer to subjects, although these are not expected to be headline features. The ultrawide lens is also speculated to have up to a 35% larger aperture to improve low-light performance.

The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are claimed to have a boost of at least one hour to battery life, but the iPhone 12 mini's battery life is expected to perform worse than the iPhone 11 due to its size.

Weinbach also reinforced previous claims about iPhone 12 models likely supporting 4K video at 120 or 240 frames per second.

The report is apparently based on recent updates from sources that were received over the past three weeks. The iPhone 12 lineup is almost certain to be revealed on Tuesday at Apple's "Hi, Speed" event.

If it doesn’t have Touch ID I’m not ****ing interested. I’m sick of having updates cameras which I don’t need but still need to deal with mask
No Touch ID is a massive miss by Apple here. Really bad mistake on their part not including this.

Doubt we'll see longer battery life. 5G will drain it faster, so hopefully the larger battery allows as long a battery as the 11 Pro.
agreed. I’m pissed Apple didn’t do this. Guess I’ll stick with my X. No significant changes for me to want a newer model.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about a new iPhone anymore? Its always the same.
- Faster CPU
- Better camera
- Better Battery-life

...I think I am gonna be stuck with my 10S Max for a long time.
Many will upgrade. There are many more subtle features. But with the 11 Pro, it went from great battery life, to “never run out in a day no matter what” battery life. That alone was worth the upgrade. The cost is actually a lot less than you think if you sell your older phone. Like a leased car, last year’s model keeps more than 50% of it’s value if well cared for. So one can upgrade with a minimal trade up cost. Usually around 1/3 the price of the new device.

Lol Because thats what 5G does.

Apple didn’t invent 5G. I have it on my Note and it definitely drains the battery faster.
Well that’s also Andriod so Ofcourse battery life isn’t going to be much better. Did you feel a speed difference when using 5G or do you think 4GLTE is better?

Any new camera features mean nothing if I still cant permanently disavowed horrible night mode and simply toggle flash to ON, not auto without sliding down that stupid droor
Simply taking a picture is such a pain now

Yes there is definitely a speed difference. 5G is blazing fast if your network has it.

Also yes I agree it is Android and isn’t exactly comparable. And I hope I’m wrong as I love the battery life of the 11 Pro Max and hope that the 12 gets equal or better.

I saw the new iPad Air colors and it suppose to be the color options of the budget 5.4” iPhone 12 too! Ugh! No black or white or Midnight blue! Only very light faded colors for the cheaper budget iPhones!

When one addings back the $50 for 128GB storage option, $749 vs. $900. $150.00 difference! To bad Apple did not release a 5.4” Pro!;)

So another round of camera improvements - I don't know about most people but I don't do anything intensive enough on my phone to warrant the ever-incrementing processor improvements, despite how technically impressive they are.

Especially with masks (hopefully) being a lasting presence, it would have been nice to see a return of Touch ID, whether under the screen or even in the power button like the latest iPad.

OMG, I feel your pain!

The number of times I’ve missed out on pictures is infuriating. If you’re in motion (car, theme park ride, etc) you end up with a blurry picture because my stupid phone automatically defaults to Night Mode. This feature should be off by default and let us turn it on a as-needed basis.

I also agree about the flash. It could be improved on how it’s turned on/off.

The 11 had a MUCH better battery life than the X. So even if the 12 mini is less than the 11 it still could be better than the X.
You forget that every update seems to destroy battery life.

If what you said were true, then we should be at two days usage by now with each battery improvement we’ve had, but software always seems to eat more battery every year

Just wanted to 2nd this. My XS Max & S5 Watch are the last models of their respective lines to feature 3D and Force Touch. These are undoubtedly solid devices to last for years to come
Honestly bro, 3D Touch kinda sucked. I was a huge advocate in the past, but after owning an 11....yeah it was pretty pointless and long press is easier and superior. Especially when I’m lazy and can’t hard press at a certain angle

Welp! I'll be waiting to purchase someone's 11 Pro Max, as it will be an upgrade from my XS Max. I can't wait to use the camera.

so given the release quote... you don't think 5G is going to be the main reason to upgrade?
