That’s impressive and yet another positive experience of the iPhone’s longevity. How many batteries did you go through and what is your 6s+’s (gosh that reads strange) storage size?
one battery replacement when they were cheaper and after updating to IOS 14 (for my first apple watch, an SE which I will return tomorrow and am replacing with a g-shock. I love a good watch but don't care about the notifications, and it's just not for me. ) i'm glad i'm getting a new phone soon since the battery drain isn't the worst but clearly real. I went with the 64 gigs and I've been hitting that wall for the better part of a year. 256 should give me plenty of breathing room. Honestly I have plenty of money for a pro but I can't justify spending $1,000 plus on the phone. Of course with the larger SSD plus a few apple leather cases... I'll probably be hitting that number anyway lol.

Never said otherwise. But unlimited data is becoming very widespread. And honestly my bigger point is that people store too much media that they don’t need on their devices. Hence the growing complaints that people have to keep upgrading their iCloud monthly plans because they keep all their photos and videos on their device.
Honestly, with the way companies are becoming more and more Monopoly based (Fox should never have been able to be bought by Disney,) I think the argument swings the other direction. I live in an area that had some very bad fires, (west coast) and I almost had to flee a month ago. When I was packing my backpack with the essentials, I looked at all my blu rays and DVD's and though (I wish I had a back up of all of this on a single drive I could toss in) and the same goes for music and all media. Maybe not on device but over the next few years i'll be backing up everything I can/and/or grabbing digital copies. Same reason I love a kindle. Less stuff, more of all the data. And I subscribe to a lot of services (HBO, Netflix, Prime) but when I want to watch what i want to watch I want it to be as frictionless as possible. But I'm a writer and media is a big part of what I do.

I have all my personal music uploaded to the iCloud Music Library. I used iTunes Match, and now Apple Music, to stream it. But now in the past year I've simply been streaming new music (in addition to listening to my personal collection) instead of managing music files ever again.

I ripped all my discs and uploaded the files to Dropbox. I use the Infuse app to watch them on my Apple TV. So much better than dealing with discs.

All my music and movies are backed up onto an external drive.

If possible, I recommend you upload all your media to apps that will let you enjoy them all digitally.

Completely as expected. Whoever wants 128GB can get that for $50. I’d guess at least 50% will buy the 64GB, and not to save $50; they simply don’t need more.

It is totally unexpected considering the price drop of SSD drive in recent years! Apple is just a disappointing company exploring money from dust. The price difference between 64 GB and 128 GB may be a few dollars like $5~$10.

I’m quite surprised at the amount of people on here saying they rely on iCloud to store their stuff. If you haven’t already, go read the iCloud T&Cs (seriously, do it)

I’d rather have everything on all of my devices - including iTunes purchase of music, films, tv shows, books. I bought the wrong size MacBook Pro to store everything on & I regret that a lot (Friends seasons 1-10 in HD takes up a lot of space - maybe over 300gb), so I’ve started downloading my other stuff to my iPhone. I don’t want to one day go to download an iTunes purchase from the cloud & it not being in the store and therefore unavailable to download.

I do backup my Mac with as much of my stuff on it as I can, but I do wonder what someone that only owns an iPhone or iPad would do, as you can’t currently back those up to an external hard drive.

I hope the rumour that the 5.4 inch iPhone stops at 256gb isn’t true. I want a smaller screen & I want 512gb just to be on safe side.

So I could actually save money on the remaining 12 monthly payments on my iPhone 11 Pro 256GB using the iPhone Upgrade Program. 64GB was cutting it too close but 128GB is just right with my iCloud storage for photos and video. Nice!

Lot of Apple apologists in this thread, 64GB is a disgrace you bloody well know it.

anyway Prosser is a liar but Max wienbach is just as bad

he’s a massive Samsung fanboy, claims iPhones have more ads than Galaxy phones, seems to be the only one with bizarre issues on his Apple products like today claiming his watch is in a boot loop when it’s clearly just been restarted in his video.

isn’t impartial in his reviews at all and will lick the Samsung gravy train even when it’s a disgrace or a joke

he’s nothing but a dumb rich Connecticut boy living off his daddies money to get into the tech industry and I take his opinions on Apple and stick them in the toilet.

his political views are just as bad

I will say for mine I never delete messages unless they are one off's or super old. I have 60gb stored in just messages alone (its nice to search for stuff). Also, I record in 4k, which means that for every minute of video it takes up 1gb of storage. I do not pay for icloud storage. I also download spotify playlists and sometimes netflix movies if I have to travel. more storage is always a good thing IMO. Storage should be cheap
I never delete messages either? I hardly used half of 128gb on my previous phone and I had 20gb+ of music and Spotify...
What’s the purpose of recording 4K and keeping it stored on your phone though? Most people should just be transferring that externally as you can’t view it in “4K” on the phone screen

beacuse i dont want to plug my phone in to my computer every day because of all the stupid but lovable videos i take of my dog!? also, you might be surprised the quality difference, even just viewing on the phone, that 4k video makes. I have 209/256 gb used. 144 gb in photos. 68gb in messages. netflix 13gb, spotify 11 gb. sure i could start deleting stuff, but why? I dont like to purge unless i have to

A lot of us thought 128gb should have been the entry point a few years ago. I just think at the price the 12 is likely to start at, 64gb is robbery.
I mean, a lot of posters clearly are saying 64 is enough for them (and it's not for me) but calling it robbery when they can just pay 4 bucks more a month to get a bigger storage option... I don't see that as robbery. I'm annoyed i'll be paying an extra $100 (I buy the phones outright) but I'll keep this thing for 3+ years, that extra $100 over 3 years ain't terrible.

You know, the extra $100-$200 you spend on the phone to have the extra storage to keep all your photos locally makes the cost of the subscription much less of a black/white issue.
I think it depends on how long you keep your iPhones. Less time leans toward iCloud and more time toward physical storage. And that's only $$$ wise. Also depends on your Internet speed and reliability.

I'm likely going after the mini as I hate brick size phones; currently have XR and my hands are large but I hate huge phones uncomfortable in pockets, in hands look like bricks; I would only get huge phone in the future if I do not have a computer or iPad otherwise the smaller, the better. Squared sides = awesome, now I don't need stupid case for it (as I never had it with iPhone 5 and original SE; no issues for me

Remember how long Apple stuck it out with 16GB base storage? But I gotta be honest 64GB is pretty laughable I mean we’re on the verge of coming into 2021 for Pete’s sake. At the minimum it should be 128GB but in all reality we need a lineup of 256/512/1TB.

64gb? abysmal

I have a 64GB iPhone and 8GB free... Spotify takes 25GB and „other” left over from Beta testing is 11GB (too lazy to look into it).

I won’t cry if they raise the minimum storage option, but I wouldn’t pay extra for space I don’t need.

Apple probably tracks the usage and knows 64 is still enough for majority of users. Once that becomes a problem or is cheap enough, they will bump it.

I think the question should be, is there any point in getting the Pro.

I’m sorry but Apple have failed to make any convincing argument about the benefits of Lidar with the last iPad Pro.

120hz pro-motion is out the window too.

as somebody who isn’t getting the max model , what’s the £100’s extra for? A telephoto lens?

would love to know everybody’s thoughts. Based on what we know so far (which I concede is rumour), what is drawing you to the Pro model?

I currently have the XS Max and can not go any smaller than 6.5. At times 6.5 is too small for me so when I heard rumors that the next pro Max would be 6.7 I was ecstatic. Whatever specs are announced will be an upgrade for me. I also always buy 256GB for my iPhones, but this year I’m paying outright and saved enough to go up to 512GB if the 256GB dates start slipping. I never use up 75GB on my phone but I like having the extra storage in case I decide to keep my phone 2-3 years.

Valid point but given I always change my phone after two years and look after them I get a good price back at time of sale. The extra $100-200 doesn't really bother me as it comes out of my company money anyway. I just try to keep clear of this crazy subscription hell we seem to have these days.
